This comes from a very credible source. Take it as you will..

Steve has recorded tons of songs over the last 8 years or so and and has plenty for an album however it is unknown if art is done or which songs have been decided upon.

Steve's voice is at least as good as 1984/86 due to therapy of an undisclosed type but probably not consistent enough for a tour.

He may release it this year but probably 2010 and he has recut vocals on songs he recorded over the last 8-10 years due to the improvements in his voice.

All the times Steve is showing up at studios and working with other bands served a dual purpose as Steve was looking for collaboration and opinions on his material.

Take with a grain of salt as I did when I was given the info. The person that gave me this info has "predicted" (knows but wont say anymore than "I predict") and has been right 100% of the time about other things. This individual acts as if he/she says too much that Perry is going to send hit men or something !!

WHat is he a fucking mobster or something ? I mean we know he is a pimp from the avatar but geesh !!

Former journalist in Southern Ca, for a large rock mag BTW.

That is all I know and I dont know how much is true or not. Just chew on it and hope for the best. DO NOT TAKE THIS AS ANY THING MORE THAN RUMOR. I can not vouch for this person but can say they (yes they) have "predicted" stuff in the past and been right including tour dates before they were even published anywhere. So.... Here we stand so patiently.

Ya know, even if he doesnt release new material there is a ton of old stuff in the vaults I am sure. For one I am most interested in the work he did while in the Band "Pieces". The short clips that are playing from Pieces during some 80's interview sound almost progressive and I would love to hear it as well as the other unreleased Alien Project demos like "Holding on" if thats what it is called. He needs to do an anthology type thing at least with all the Alien Project, Sullies, Pieces, solo and Journey stuff. At 60 years old I can not understand why he just wont give full disclosure of his unreleased music to his very hungry fan base.

Though I tend to disagree with much of what Madsplash says I do like his in your face and "Fuck You" attitude. Loons are the most obnoxious and unintelligent fans known to man and need to be dealt with precisely the way he does. Besides, nothing he has said has been dispelled (or proven...yet) and many of the "whispers" in the industry seem to point to him being right more so than wrong. The Perry elitists want nothing more than to tow the line and say what they think Perry Inc. would want them to say. There's nothing original or creative in their thinking. When the topic of Nostrildamus comes up they do nothing more than wander around here aimlessly regurgitating 20 years of bullshit keywords like "privacy, burnout, toast, high road, and class act." Like most soft-minded people they've been brainwashed well.

So you don't consider MS a loon? I'd crown him King Loon leading the Perry return parade. If he's right, MBPL will rightly take her place as Queen Loon. No?

Geez, that's a little harsh don't ya think? Maybe you and I define loons diferently. Up to now I classified myself as a loon because I love Steve Perry's wonderful voice, I enjoy both his work with Journey and his solo efforts, and I sincerely hope he will record and perform again someday. While I wish Journey well and feel AP is doing an excellent job I have no desire to buy their new albums or go see them in concert. For me, Journey will always include SMFP. But have no ill feeling for NS and JC.

I am not an apologist for Perry either. I believe that he has made mistakes and has done things he shouldn't because he is a human being and that's what people do they screw up. They act out of ego, fear, anger, etc. To think that one side or the other in this melodrama are somehow all to blame while the other party is a complete victim and blameless is IMO, ridiculous. I also feel that MS has gotten a raw deal, and given what people have been posting of late, it would not surprise me if he turns out to be right. However he does seem to perpetuate the abuse by his "in your face and Fuck You" attitude.

So, please don't classify all loons as thinking or acting the same. :)

MS, certainly is able to hold his own; however medical issues in my opinion should be released only by the party whom the issue concerns. At first I was happy that maybe it was true and he probably would return to the stage, then it occurred to me that if someone posted information about my alleged health issues I'd feel totally violated. One more thing if SP did give permission to the doctor to talk to the voice coach about any alleged procedures maybe that's as far as he thought it was to go; only between the doctor and the voice coach; so posting that information would be wrong on so many levels and a violation of HIPPA.

So do I. It's the best I've ever heard.

This is, in part, what makes you a moron. The inability to even acknowledge the band pre or post Perry is what makes you a card carrying Loon. Had you said "I'm really only interested in the lineup that included Perry" I could respect your opinion. But you didn't.

Peartree12249 wrote: To think that one side or the other in this melodrama are somehow all to blame while the other party is a complete victim and blameless is IMO, ridiculous.

Well, we certainly agree here. Perry, and his decade-long fight to make sure that Journey didn't continue without him, is an A-1 prick, and Schon and Cain, because of their incredibly greedy and stupid choice to fleece fans with almost completely taped shows, have shown a propensity to think with their wallets instead of their brains. I'll give a slight edge to Schon and Cain, though. Their continued fight to resurrect something Perry left in shambles with shortened tours, long hiatuses, the firing of members and their manager, the blatant destruction of the 94 lineup, and the almost certain notion that he never intended to tour in 96, makes Tapegate seem trivial. Though it's not.

He needs to keep that attitude. Just because he doesn't parrot the Fan Asylum, Perry Inc. talking points doesn't make what he says any less credible. He's given his timeline and only time will prove him right or wrong.

Peartree12249 wrote: So, please don't classify all loons as thinking or acting the same.

To put the words "loons" and "thinking" together in the context that you just did is probably akin to expecting Charlton Heston or Terry Schiavo to defeat Ken Jennings on Jeopardy.

Sorry, but if he is so 'fuck you' in your face..why is he constantly deleting his comments and having his threads deleted?? You make it sound like he's teaching people a lesson...when in fact, he is the one that has been continually schooled around here. Pull up any one of his threads that haven't been altered or deleted and you will see him being taken to the wood shed time after time by some of the same 'loons' you claim to have so much hate for. I don't also agree with much of the "Perry can do no wrong" shit that goes on...but to say MS is some type of idol that symbolizes standing up to the establishment is just dead wrong.

I find that statement a little odd, Dan. Madsplash is one of the worst of the 'Perry is perfect and no criticism will be entered into' loons around. He's incredibly agressive when anyone suggests Perry, or his singing, is sometimes less than perfect, and point blank refuses to acknowledge any rational argument pointing out the flaws in his stance.

As for whether or not he is right about Perry recording, it's never been an issue for me about what he is saying (and I have reason to believe that MS is more right than wrong), but rather that he just won't accept people saying 'when it's officially announced, we'll get excited', no matter how many times it's been said or how it's been said.

Having said that, I hope he doesn't just disappear. I personally don't like his posting style, but it would be a dull place if we were all the same.

Well I am a big loon too but I certainly don't think that Perry can't or did not do any wrong, I just think he's the best snger to ever grace the earth during my time. His voice is like majic to me. Hell I don't even think he's that cute!! LoL but I do love the man's music and know he's human just like Cain and Schon and they have all made big mistakes but I still am dieing for the day to come that I can see SMFP live.
Come back Steve Perry!!
