That's SenseOfHumor101 right there. Awesome write.
"I’m completely f*cking baffled by Perry’s ability to resist his own greatness."...LOL
...and this might be true: "... you look like the cat that ate the master tapes."... Oh Rufus!

I honestly dont know what style I'd want Steve to sing if he came back..... I'm stumped. Stuff like You Better Wait or One More Time or If He Should Break Your Heart sound great though.

Along with a sarcasm/humor detector.
Most of this seems to be in a very light and jokey format; I wouldn't worry too much about it.

We miss you, Stevie.
We will leave you alone if that's what you want.
But if that IS what you want then STOP MESSING WITH US!
If you aren't going to sing ever again, just tell us, so our broken hearts can start to mend. (Sniffle, sniffle...)
If you DO want to sing, then SING, DAMMIT!
But baby, please... don't tease.
Love and kisses,

Pretty clever, funny writing...and, she sure got this right:
"It's medical! Studies prove that only the very strongest opioids trigger the same endorphine release as listening to Still They Ride live at Budokan, 1983. (Which was, incidentally, named the "Best Vocal Performance of Anything Ever" at a recent UN General Assembly plenary session on Music for Peace and Development.)"

Hey there folks!
I just ran across this thread -- thanks so much for all your lovely comments! I have posted the final version of Put Up or Shut Up on my own blog, Sub-Urbane:
Put Up or Shut Up! An Open Letter to Steve Perry
I am about the least-creepy person imaginable, although I gather there are some spooky similarities between myself and a Deb of your own? I promise that I am a genuine and independent Deb; the fact that we both appreciate the Budokan performance of Still They Ride is simply evidence of the excellent taste shared by all Debs throughout history.
As to swataz's comment that my letter "has to make it in front of SP's eyes if for nothing else but to make the guy laugh"... I originally wrote this letter for my own lame amusement, and to make one other person laugh, namely SVB of Lover of Many, Father of None. A few people commented on it on her blog, which was stunning to me. Then I discover that I have made all you guys laugh! Somebody want to throw the thing at Stevie P? Why not -- it's all gravy at this point!
Thanks again,
ohthatdeb

Well when you're right, you're right!
Totally agree on the R&B thing too. Some of my absolute favorite vocal delivery from my top 3 vocalists is when they get their R&B groove on.

This website was brought to my attention. Funny stuff, you're a good writer. I want to thank you for picking up the slack on your self amusement on behalf of Perry. I personally am off making videos about the poor guy until sometime next year. I appreciate your sense of humor. I pass my "hat" to you, my dear. Congrats!

and felines!!! "Still They Ride" is pure magic.
So personal request, if you write again about that R&B covers cd, could you throw in a word for Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing"?
I swear I will pass out.
Thanks again .. awesome writer.

Wow, I just can't see Perry's voice on Sexual Healing b/c Gaye's smooth as butter vocals are perfect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuT1ITUpodg
I see him more on Have I Told You Lately - Rod Stewart - I labsolutely love Rod's vocals it, but Perry would take that song to another level - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQ4NAZPi2js

Thank's so much Deb for that. You took the thoughts right out of my mind, and I'm sure alot of other ladies. I certainly do hope Steve gets his eye's on that
masterpiece, and especially the teasing part!!!!! But you know Deb, he already knows that, and I'm sure he enjoys that very much. Also wanted to let you know
that I posted the link for your letter, over at Steve's Melodies, a new site started in Aug. I would write something like that to him if I had your talent.
You go girl!!!!!!
