Your just blindly following one because it is "your side".

You know, you often make good points, and when you're not hell-bent on hurling insults I enjoy reading your posts. I don't care much what you think of my thoughts and opinions because in the end I'm the one that has to live with them, but I can guarantee you that you won't sway one person's mind when you're so nasty.

But macroeconomics is not common sense. Much econ theory is counter-intuitive. That's like the deceptively simple comparison between a household budget and the sovereign debt-purchasing/money printing power of the U.S. Government. Not the same thing. In an economic downturn, you're supposed to run a deficit in the short term.

Never meant to imply that you're not entitled to your own opinion, DP. That's not the case AT ALL. I'm sorry you think that. A few times, I have asked you to back up your opinion. I don't think that is too much to ask. The same has been asked of me and pretty much every poster in the political thread at one point or another.

Thanks, TNC. I like the kinder and gentler version much better...![]()
Honestly, IDK if I can back up each and every opinion or not. I formulate my opinions based on lots of things. While it's true I do watch Fox News from time to time, I also listen to NPR and I used to listen to Air America before it crashed and burned. I read op eds in the newspaper, and I talk to people around me, who because of our backgrounds, share common values and goals. I digest all that stuff, and I form my own opinion - I don't regurgitate what others say despite what some may suggest. Hell, I've been accused here of being a mindless follower of Dean and a few others. If that were true, don'tcha think I'd be sharing his political views as well?
Like I've said befrore, I never claim to be a political whiz - I just follow my heart. That's why most of my stuff is followed with "IMO". I don't expect anyone to read it and suddenly be swayed by it. Just sharing how I feel. No facts, no theories, just me.

Because our largest employer, Wal-Mart, essentially sets our trade policy.

Damn Donna, now you have me feeling terribly guilty. I should try to reign it in and stop the verbal assaults. I should respect your opinion more if not all the time.
I am truly sorry for how I behave in these goddamned political threads but I get so fuckin worked up it just pisses me off to no end!

Anyone?
I think Clinton has volunteered to be the fall guy to quickly bury this story and make it go away. I don't believe he was the one to contact Sestak, nor do I buy that the job Sestak was offered was non-paid. In terms of congressional bribery, however, this is small potatoes. If the GOP pursues this distraction at the expense of real issues, Sestak will win.

Perhaps we now should exercise some compassion and latitude because one day we, the whites, may be on the reverse side of the coin. Just food for thought.

It always strikes me as ironic that so many of those who supported the sham that was the Bush administration want it all forgotten now.
I think there are a lot of things that are a lot more important that the media, the legislature and the voters of this country need to be concentrating on than this issue. I personally don't care if he did it or not. It's petty. It's irrelevant. To hear all of this squawking you'd think he'd fired all of the republican attorneys in the Department of Justice to make sure it runs his way. Oh wait, Bush did get rid of the Democratic Attorneys so I guess that wouldn't be unethical would it?
There is no way that I'm going to miss a chance to tell the Bush supporters how hypocritical their picking apart the trivial slip ups of the Obama administration is when they supported legal and human abominations for eight years.
