Jets vs. Packers - The Jets are the better team but I think the Packers win a close one.

Dolphins vs Bengals - Two average teams. Dolphins by a FG.

Cowboys vs. Jaguars - Can the FraudBoys really lose again? My answer is no. Cowboys by 10.

Redskins vs. Lions - Skins by 14.

Chiefs vs. Bills - Upset Special. There is zero reason for me to pick the Bills, other than I just don't see them losing every game. Bills by 1.

Rams vs. Panthers - Rams by 10

49'ers vs. Broncos - Two awful teams that were supposed to be good. Broncos by 2.

Chargers vs. Titans - Titans have been better than most though but are due for a letdown. Chargers by 7.

Cardinals vs. Buccaneers - Interesting matchup between two teams that think they're better than they are. What I am certain about is that neither of these teams is very good but it is a good matchup. Both teams have been outscored by their opponents, which is never a recipe for success in the NFL. Cardinals by a FG.

Patriots vs. Vikings - I have said all along that the Patriots would lose either the Chargers game or the Vikings game. I picked them to win last week so I really should be picking them to lose this week. I simply can't do it. The Vikings have ZERO right being 2-4 with all the talent on that team, but Belichick hates Brad Childress and Childress running his mouth this week isn't going to help his cause. I've never seen any team in the history of the NFL who thrives more on their opponent shooting their mouths off. Not to mention, as long as that fucking fraud Favre is out there...there are sure to be some turnovers to be had, considering that only one QB in the league has turned the ball over more than cock texting man! Patriots by 10.

Seahawks vs. Raiders - The Raiders are clearly an improved team but I think they come back down to Earth this week and lose by 10.

Saints vs. Steelers - The Saints have been dreadful this season and the Steelers have been one of the best teams in football this season. I have liked the Saints all week long in this game but have changed my mind. The more I look at the Saints, the more I'm trying to figure out how they were so dominant last season. Their talent is VERY average. After watching the Steelers being handed a victory against a very average Miami team last week, I think they are a very beatable team. Just not by a very inferior Saints teams. Pittsburgh by 10.

Texans vs. Colts - The Colts aren't losing to the Texans twice in the same season. Colts by 14.

Wow...How the hell can Dallas suck this bad? Hell, I'm the biggest anti Cowgirl guy on the planet, but allowing David Garrad to throw 4 TD's? WTF! What a complete fucking embarrassment.

Since Tony Romo is now out, I had Palmer as #2 on my list as most overrated quarterback. With Romo hurt, Palmer is bumped up to #1. Even if he doesn't have to, he's still proving it. Late interception on a potential game tying touchdown drive.

Palmer has sucked since he came out of USC. Many of the so-called experts claimed he was on his way to being Peyton Manning, and he's never been close. He's a below average QB. He always has been and that will never change.

I've come to a whole lot of realizations after watching football this week. They are:

Oakland is a MUCH improved team. They're not going anywhere this season, but they're no longer an automatic win.

Cleveland is a much improved team and also no longer an automatic win.

The Lions have the same record as the Vikings and may be a better team!

In spite of being 0-7, the Bills aren't as bad as they look. They play tough every week and don't roll over for anyone.

The Kansas City Chiefs aren't as good as their record indicates they are.

Sam Bradford may be the next good QB on the horizon.

The Broncos suck!

The Cowboys may be the worse team I've ever seen in all the years I've been watching football. Keep in mind, I'm not comparing them to the 0-16 Lions, because that Lions team actually had no talent. This Cowboys team is truly an embarrassment.

The Jets have a VERY good defense, but very questionable offense.

The Giants are probably the best team in the NFC.

I still don't have an opinion on the best team in the AFC (but it will come down to only one of 4 teams).

Brett Favre is a complete drama queen douche!

Although Randy Moss is probably the best receiver I've seen in my life, he may well be done.

Hey John, I would love your take on Favre's performance today. How you can not like this guy is beyond me. Two fractures in his wheel, dude plays an outstanding game. The pick wasn't his fault. I am starting to hate that long lettuce wearing Princess Brady as much as you hate Favre. Tom Brady may have rings, but he will never be put aside Brett Favre. He plays in a system, a very conservative protectionist system, where the plays are made not only by Princess, but his playmakers. Their RB is extremely good by the way.

But yeah, I will check in tomorrow to read how you think Favre lost this game for Minnesota.

One more thing. Chilly is a shitty coach. He better hope Favre can't go next week. I am afraid the Old Gunslinger is about to make a coaching change, and that Chilly may be history. He is almost as bad as Fat E=Wade Philips. I personally hope I haven't watched OG's last game. If he just suffered a lacerated chin, he'll play next week for sure. Because they still are right in the NFC race, lucky as they may be. OG has to go out with style, not with a 2-5 record.

What a very odd press conference (and no, this isn't Favre). I think it might be time for someone to tell Randy that he's been traded

Great game tonight. Full blown chess match tonight. I expected this loss, been saying it all week. The chips were in place for the Steelers to drop one and this was the perfect game to judge. Re-focus for a big divisional game next week @ Cincy. Both teams exchanging huge turnovers at the end there. Fortunately for the Saints D, they got the bigger one. Even though the Steelers struggled offensively and didn't have an answer for the blitz, I expect a big rebound.

3 or 4 mistakes cost the Steelers the game...of course that's what its about. The Saints made less mistakes and won.

The two huge plays was obviously the goal line stand the Saints had and the Heath Miller fumble. Other than that, it was a very evenly matched game. Tough to play in that stadium, in prime-time on a holiday night. If we were going to lose one, this would be the one to drop since we have some AFC opponents the next couple weeks.

Whether he did or didn't is of no matter. The footage of him being carried off, salt and pepper hair and all, just looked sad. He looks like an old man getting the piss beaten out of him. It's sad, his team is 2-5, and he just needs to stop. There's a not-so-fine line between iron man and sad spectacle. He's crossed it.

The salt and pepper hair smack...I thought the exact same thing when I saw that..however, I was expecting that motherfucker to come back in on the next play, blood oozing from the bottom of his grill. I would say stop, too, but they aren't out of anything yet, especially in the NFC. They are going through a brutal schedule....they do need to win next week or OG may just hang em up. I still think he wants to get the Packers back in his home crib one last time, don't you? I also can't imagine OG going out in the middle of a season, no matter how lost it may be. I hope OG fires Chilly. Chilly sucks.

His performance on the field was reasonable. I certainly wouldn't categorize as "great", as you did. The reality is that he finished the game with zero TD's and 1 interception (even though that one interception really wasn't his fault). His performance in the locker room was typical, self-aggrandizing Favre. The guy is a complete embarrassment. He actually stood in front of the cameras and said "I know not many other guys could keep playing with the hits I take". Really? I've been watching NFL football for many decades, and I can't think of many NFL QB's who don't get their asses handed to them on a weekly basis and keep getting back up to play football.

Rockindeano wrote:How you can not like this guy is beyond me.

Not much to like Dean. I honestly don't know how anyone can like this dude. There isn't a player in all my years of watching NFL football who I've liked less. The media ball washing that goes on with this guy is fucking nauseating. The "legend" of Favre doesn't match reality. As I've stated, the guy is 4-8 in his last 12 playoff games and has been the sole reason his teams have lost many of those 8 games.

Rockindeano wrote: Two fractures in his wheel, dude plays an outstanding game.

As is typical in Favre's case, Dean, the injury is WAY overblown (see the article below from an NFL Orthopedist). He VERY clearly states that almost every QB in the NFL would play with this injury which he calls a "glorified ankle sprain". Listen...football is a rough game. Guys get hurt. What I have a problem with is this douche going before the cameras before and after every game to offer a detailed account about every injury he has ever had and how miraculous his healing powers are. It's fucking shameless.

Your opinion, and you're certainly entitled to it. That said, I understand the history of the NFL quite well and the one thing that I'm supremely confident about is that there isn't an NFL historian on the planet who would ever consider ranking Favre ahead of Brady, in terms of the all-time NFL great QB's. You seem to think numbers are all that matters, and if that were the case, Terry Bradshaw and Troy Aikman wouldn't be in the NFL Hall Of Fame. I think the Favre ball washers of the world need to look at more of his numbers than just games played and TD passes thrown. Wins and losses actually do matter and they matter a whole lot more in big games. Favre hasn't been that big game QB for most of his career in the playoffs, when it mattered the most.

Rockindeano wrote: He plays in a system, a very conservative protectionist system,

Right, and it was a really "conservative" system in 2007 when the Patriots scored more points than any team in the history of the NFL and Brady threw more TD's that season than ANY QB in the history of the NFL. Brady wins with what he has around him. The reality is that he has the highest winning percentage of ANY QB in the history of the NFL. That's fact and not opinion. I challenge you, or anyone else, to name a single QB who has won with less offensive talent around him than Tom Brady has. You'll be racking your brain forever on this one, because there isn't an answer!

Rockindeano wrote: I will check in tomorrow to read how you think Favre lost this game for Minnesota.

I actually don't think Favre did lose this game today. That said, he is second in the NFL among QB's for turning over the ball this season, so he is a huge reason why they have underachieved. Teams who turn the ball over simply don't win in the NFL. Never have and never will. Hell, Mark Sanchez isn't even that good, but the dude simply doesn't throw the ball to the wrong color jersey, which is why his team is among the best in the NFL right now.

Rockindeano wrote: He better hope Favre can't go next week.

I promise you that Favre will be out there next week. He has a lot of Paul Pierce in him. He gets laid out, carted out in an ambulance, and he's out there the next day. There has never been a bigger drama queen in the NFL than your boy Favre.

Rockindeano wrote: He is almost as bad as Fat E=Wade Philips.

Nobody is as bad as that moron Philips is!

Rockindeano wrote: OG has to go out with style, not with a 2-5 record.

It's a well deserved record, as he's earned it. Believe me Dean, I'd love nothing more than for the Vikings to make a comeback and watch that douche puke on his shoes, AGAIN, in the playoffs!

One more item Matty and John- and I am not saying "what if," but I guess I am. You see the Pass Interference call against the Pats at the end of the game, where Moss was clearly held up, yet he also clearly quit on the ball, which landed three yards from his feet? He should have caught that ball, and I think Favre was pissed about the effort. Even Troy Aikman said something. That was a lazy, take off a play Moss classic. He makes that play, Minnesota is 3-4 and right there in the Norris division.

We need to put them, Dan Snyder and Al Davis on a space ship and send them into outer space. The football world would be a happier place if that happened.

Troy Aikman just went out there and got it done. I can't think of a single NFL QB record the guy holds yet he is in the HOF for one thing, winning three world championships (as it should be). The guy stepped up when he had to and that's all that counts.
Lynn Swann is another one. Mediocre career statistics but when he was on the big stage, he did what he had to do to seize the prize.

Precisely my point. I saw Aikman's entire career and was never remotely impressed with the guy. I believe he only one single time threw for more than 20 TD's in his entire career. Most seasons, he would throw for about 15 TD's (not terribly impressive, considering that there are more games than that in an NFL) season. When you're the QB of a team who wins three championships, you're getting in the HOF, period, end of story. That 70's Pittsburgh teams who won had mostly below average offensive players. If you look at the career numbers of guys like Stallworth, Swann, and Bradshaw, you wouldn't even want most of these guys on your team. Those Pittsburgh teams were all about defense, but there is simply no way a guy like Bradshaw is winning all of those championships and not getting in the HOF. Honestly, I'd take Bradshaw on my team all day long over Favre, because as mediocre as Bradshaw was, he didn't choke in big games the way Favre has for most of his career!

Dude...did you even watch the game? Time to cue up TiVo and watch it again. That pass interference call led to a TD about two minutes later, so Moss missing that had ZERO impact on the game. In fact, Favre got his bell rung two plays after the play you're referring to and Tavaris Jackson came in a threw about a 5 yard TD pass to some dude with the last name of Tahi, so your theory couldn't be more wrong!

I didn't mean to say they would have won the game, John. However, the effort is the point here....and if he makes a half asseed effort, he scores 6, Favre's bell is not rung 2 plays later, and there you have it. Granted, the Viking Defense had two good chances at stopping the Pats...a couple 3rd and 12's I think...Anyway, had they stopped them, there is no way the Vikes come back under Tavaras Jackson! Had Favre not been rung up, he could have lead the Vikes down for a tying FG.

My point was that Moss is an Asshole. Just saw his presser on the four letter. What a piece of work. You don't think Belechik is elated to see his criminal ass go west?

That's definitely Joe Namath! Namath was a lot like Favre, in that he threw a fuckload of interceptions. I've never quite figured out how he got into the HOF. At least with a guy like Bradshaw, I can look to the rings and no that in spite of shitty numbers, the guy was a consistent winner. With Namath, that's definitely not the case.

I don't really give a shit what Cincy's record is, it's going to be a tough game to go in there. Right now, Cincy is a scary 2-5 to any division opponent, losing what? 4 in a row? I actually feel better about this game next week now that the Steelers finally had a game to where they weren't in sync. Last night was by far their worst showing of the season and it was still a gritty performance and a very hard hitting game. Looks like Pittsburgh had the game won and had the Saints, but turnovers were key in a tight game. As far as Cincy, they just seem lost, period, but everyone in Pittsburgh and Cincy knows that Cincy will show up to play Pittsburgh, even if they get womped or not, they won't be a pushover by any means. It'll be a tough division matchup and a big game for the Steelers rather than the Bengals. Going to be exciting if the Steelers can man up because the North will come down to Pittsburgh/Baltimore.

What Namath did was put the NFL on the map...brought HUGE media attention to the NFL...is that HOF worthy? I don't know...

I'm a firm believer in how the landscape of the NFL changes. When Namath played, along with the rest of the very unique decades and decades of profile players, the NFL was a completely different league and had a different approach with different philosophy, rules and style of players and position. I don't necc look at number for everything, what Namath brought to the game, alone, is worthy of a Hall of Fame mention. He never put up Peyton Manning type numbers because that's not how the NFL was set up to be at that time, but he sure did leave his mark and had a big role in shaping the NFL up to where we are today and is an important piece of that puzzle.
