What's funny is, as we take up more slots on Google search with this thread, we are probably fanning the flames even higher.

Well, if this is what it takes to get the nose to come out from under his rock, so be it.

And one more from Perry's home turf.

They are all doing a copy and post of the same article over and over again.

My bet is that watching Perry gain some spotlight during the World Series was a hard pill for Schon to swallow, especially since he wasn't the one rekindling the Journey fire on the road since '98. It was probably a smart-ass answer given to a question about Perry gaining some attention. Was the reporter's name Bob Abooey, by any chance?

False Steve Perry Journey Reunion Report Surfaces In UK
By Paul Cashmere
32 minutes ago (Sat, 13 Nov 2010 08:02:15 +1100)
A UK report stating that Steve Perry is about to rejoin Journey is not true, according to the Journey camp.

A report published by London’s Daily Star overnight stated that Perry has asked his former band to take him back. It suggested the singer wanted in to capitalise on the recent success of his song ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ after it was covered in the hit TV show ‘Glee’.

Journey recently finished a new album with their singer Arnel Pineda on vocals. Pineda, a star in Asia for more than 25 years, was “discovered” by the band after they spotted YouTube footage of him singing a Journey song in 2007. Journey guitarist Neal Schon flew him to San Francisco to audition and on December 5, 2007 he was officially announced as the new lead singer.

Perry was the original singer with the band from 1978 to 1987 and briefly in 1995 and 1996. He also appeared at the Journey Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2005 but has stated often that he would never rejoin the band.

The current story is attributed to a comments made from Schon
. “The fact is he’s no longer the lead singer. He walked out,” the story quotes him as saying.

Since Perry’s departure, Steve Augeri and then Jeff Scott and now Arnel Pineda have fronted the band.

Journey with Arnel along with Styx and Foreigner will tour the UK in June 2011. Tickets have just gone on sale for that tour. The new Journey album with Arnel on vocals will be released in early 2011.[/i]

His "spotlight" was very limited and nothing that anyone in masses even knew about. The times he was featured was in between innings and not everyone in the world comes to melodicrock.com to check on the latest scoop. I've asked many, many friends if they saw him and all said no.

This "spotlight" thing that people are trying to purport simply isn't true. Nobody cares about the guy anymore. No one. And that's something he did. He quit on his band mates, his fans and his career a long time ago. Let's allow him to rejoin retirement and his brief moments as a rally monkey and trolley conductor for kids.

There's a good amount of videos on youtube that say different (you know, the place where the band found their latest singer). For the San Fran crowd, it was something. It became a regular event in the final games, and it got him a spot in the victory parade and on stage with the team. Pretty impressive for someone that has nobody caring about him anymore.

Oh no? Please explain to me why Schon is having to answer questions about Perry everywhere he goes, and Perry has been out of the band for 12 years. LOL, as much as you want everyone to believe no one cares about Perry simply won't float.....yet you also want people to believe how relevent Journey now is.....you got it backwards dude. People aren't seeing Pineda and forgetting about Perry, unless it's one of those moronic Pinoy fans.

No one. And that's something he did. He quit on his band mates, his fans and his career a long time ago. Let's allow him to rejoin retirement and his brief moments as a rally monkey and trolley conductor for kids.

LOL again. Dude, Steve Perry decided he had had enough and retired. He didn't quit on anyone, fans or bandmates. It is fully his right to not perform anylonger. There is a reason he doesn't or hasn't performed with Schon and Cain....we will never know why, but there is a reason.

Also, it's not a "trolley" in San Francisco, it's a "cable car."

I think the Brits are keeping the spotlight on Perry for a little while still.
The magazine sponsoring Journey's upcoming UK tour has Perry's name right between the scarab on the cover of their debut issue .

There's no denying that the guy has become a master at shoe horning himself into the spotlight. Now if you wanna applaud and ejaculate all over yourself because the guy was able to lead the crowd with a spastic rendition of DSB and was allowed the honor of riding in the children's trolley during the victory parade, then, by all means, spooge away.

Not even close. The highest viewed world series clip (that I could find) with Nostrildamus has 380,000 views. Oprah has a daily viewing audience of 7.4 million. But thanks for trying!

Yes but....that throws your theory about the cookie eating fan base off kilter...as I know that most of Oprah's fans are in that demographic.

 I found that "performance" decrepit and whomever put in the bubble chatter did a fine and accurate job. I can't stand Howard Stern and think he is a no talent hack, so I had mixed feelings on his thoughts on Steve Perry. But they sure were funny.

I don't watch TV and certaintly don't know anyone that cares about her so I guess I was lucky because it didn't really affect me. To be fair though, the few times I listened to her or Ellen I wanted to kill myself and my whole family.

Yet, Neal come off Oprah, go on solo tour w/o patrons. Was he yelling for attention on FB... Arnel seems to have entered the country rather quietly in Sept 2010 for recording of the album as opposed to 2007/2008. Guess that 7.4m didn't matter much.. And, there are so many clips out there and don't forget Ashkon's clip including Perry with band almost 2 million. And, the "GH" jumped up nine spots on BB along with catalog moving upward.

And you know Billboard, where the relevant artist hang out, got this story too but found nothing about the band's tour? ...
