For the San Fran crowd, it was something. It became a regular event in the final games, and it got him a spot in the victory parade and on stage with the team. Pretty impressive for someone that has nobody caring about him anymore.

Doesn't matter, Arnel would put on a helluva show and stand Perry up and Perry and everyone else knows it. Perry is what? 60 some? And hasn't sang one song live in decades, let along a catalog that tears people apart. Perry needs to save the embarrassment, yes he's the voice, but no way, no how he can show up 40 year old Arnel with pipes. Maybe a couple songs, but never a full setlist nightly. Perry is history, end of story.

Get over it. How, exactly, did this alleged tapegate effect you? Fuck, at this point it's only music. The band is way past it's heyday but still puts on a great show. Most of the world doesn't even know the lipping took place, much less care. I'd prefer to still have the option of seeing Journey live instead of nothing, especially when you could do much worse for entertainment.

Perry wasn't trying to get on Ellen, Oprah or CBS. He was simply enjoying a Baseball game and was asked to be on the jumbotron. It is the public that is making this a bigger deal than Perry intended. IMHO.
