Okay...I thought it was you who said that, so thanks for confirming. Honestly, I don't even know what that statement means. The Patriots of 2010 clearly aren't the Patriots of the 2007 season, which was really the only season in which they are unstoppable (to a historical degree). I'll remind you what I remind all non-Patriot fans. As far as I can remember, that 2007 team didn't win the championship. The three teams that won championships were definitely better on defense than this Patriots team but the 2010 Patriots are FAR better on offense than any of their three championship teams were!

Leave it to a Steelers fan to say the Patriots "aren't that good" and "they are a great team" all within the same post  As for the Cleveland game....While that performance by Brady and the entire team was beyond embarrassing, losing to Cleveland wasn't really that shocking. As I've been saying for weeks, they are a whole lot better than the record says they are and they should have won again yesterday against the Jets, before giving that game away.

How shocking that big fucking pussy Favre is getting a story to Ed Werder about another one of his "injuries". I'm sure we'll see some shoulder bruises up on YouTube by the end of the day. This fucking guy is shameless.

Brett Favre has serious pain in his right shoulder, according to ESPN's Ed Werder. The Vikings QB said after the team's 27-13 loss to the Bears that he felt a sharp pain in his throwing arm on Saturday and considered taking a pain killer, but chose not to.

What I'm basically saying is even though they show signs of a great team, I don't think their great overall. Yes, Tom Brady is Tom Brady, we established that and he can make nobodies into everybodies, but I'm not letting that ballsquashing of the Steelers last night cloud the overall Patriots team's perspective. What their defense did against Pitt last night is all shielded by the fact that Pittsburgh barely could do anything for the mere fact that guys were coming free, 2-3 at a time on Bens blindside and the Pats knew they could attack all night. When Hines goes down, that's Ben's go to guy and without that element, it's very hard to really do much against a Pats team that makes few mistakes to begin with.

Even though they are one of the worst D's in the league statically, the Pats took advantage of a very beaten up Steelers offense who didn't even play their most explosive player most of the game in Mendenhall because it was feeding him to the dogs. I want to see how the Pats play Indy and the Jets again this season and see if they can put together a string of flawless games. If they do, they will be the toughest team to beat but overall, N.E won't be killing teams like they did Pitt last night. I actually believe this ass beating is exactly what the Steelers needed. We are coming off 3 prime time games and have a chance to get back on schedule.

espeically if they do not beat the Packers this weekend...Childress will be gone... If Favre throws another two picks during the game, he will be benched... and what an ironic way to end your career... against his former team....nothing would be more satistfying... except winning some playoff games... however, I am really nervous as Packer fan...with GB going up to MN... its never easy for them in that DOME...
so i won't say anything, about who I think will win... dont want to jinx the outcome.

Oh fuck me, John. OG is the single toughest motherfucker to ever step on an NFL field. That dude is NOT going to miss his last chance at getting over on Green Bay. He will show up and beat those pecker breathed cheesedicks. OG is going to go off. You watch, Minnesota will start winning games.

Redskins QB McNabb agrees five-year, $88 million extension

Postby Frontiers65 » Tue Nov 16, 2010 8:06 am

Network insider Jason La Canfora, citing a league source.

The deal, which locks in McNabb until 2015, includes $40 million guaranteed and could be worth up to a maximum of $88 million, including $10 million in incentives. The deal averages $15.5 million per season, according to the source.

McNabb's agent, Fletcher Smith, confirmed the deal to the Washington Post.

"We're very happy about the situation," Smith said. "We've been working on this for a while now, and we're obviously glad to get it done. Donovan's very happy about the situation because this is where he wanted to be all along."

McNabb was traded to the Redskins from the Philadelphia Eagles on April 4.

The extension comes just two weeks after Redskins coach Mike Shanahan benched McNabb for the final two possessions of the Redskins' 37-25 loss to the Detroit Lions on Oct. 31. Shanahan said Rex Grossman was more comfortable with the team's 2-minute offense.

Through eight games this season, McNabb, a six-time Pro Bowler, has posted a 76.0 passer rating -- his lowest since 1999 when Philadelphia drafted him No. 2 overall and he started six games. He has seven touchdowns, eight inteceptions to go with 1,971 passing yards.

The Associated Press contributed to this report

Damn...I think they are going to regret this deal in the near future.

I just don't get this. A week after being benched in favor of Rex Fucking Grossman, with excuses like, "He didn't know the 2 minute offense" or "He isn't in good enough shape" they throw this Hack 40 large guaranteed? Up to 80 million over 5 years? Have they checked this guy's birth certificate? He isn't exactly young. Daniel Snyder is bad for the NFL. It's deals like this that are the reasons why the NFL won't have a season next year. irresponsible. Unbelievable. Fucking Nuts.

Agree 100%...it inflates the average salary and before you know it the guy who's only job on the roster is to hold the ball during kick offs feels he deserves $2 mill a year.

The player want MORE of the NFL pie...the last # I heard was 65% of gross (someone correct me if I am wrong here).

And giving big contracts like this only makes it that much easier to justify this.

Couldn't agree more Dean. When I saw this story on Bristol Central earlier, I was just shaking my head. How the fuck do we get from benching McCupcake to a 5 year contract for an aging QB? One of the most bizarre stories I can ever remember. I'd love to hear Shanahan's take on this one.

Eagles @ Redskins: All of a sudden, McNabb is being signed to a big, new extension! What the hell is going on here? Could it be hype and confidence for their QB because the Skins need this win big in the division and they need McNabb more than ever? Maybe, but the way Vick is playing, the dude is a straight up baller right now and the Eagles could make their bid for one of the best teams in the NFC alongside the Giants. Philly by 10.

are they playing that good or are the Redskins just that bad ?

btw.. you and Ole Grouchy seem to be getting more than half of your picks each week .. pretty impressive..

Actually, McNabb and the Redskins are starting to bomb it out  35-14 right now. If there is any signs of confidence in the Redskins, it's that the best case scenario for the Skins is that the Eagles scored quick.... too quick. The Skins can still get back in game believe it or not. I must say, this is possibly the most entertaining football game I've ever watched.
