Two EPIC games next weekend. PIT @ BAL Sunday night and NYJ @ NE Monday night

Not just epic, Dean, but season changing. If the Patriots lose, they'll go from a one seed to a five seed and if the Steelers lose, they'll go from a current six seed to having a really good chance of not making the playoffs (Pittsburgh still has to play the Jets). Enormous weekend of football next week. Already counting the days down.

You're not shitting. This season is all jumbled up with records and it seems like every team is very much well alive in the race. The AFC is so stout, that just like the Patriots in 2008 under Cassel, an 11-5 team could miss the playoffs. Next week in the NFL could be the most important week of the season because marquee division leaders are squaring off will determine the difference between an 1,5,6 or even NO seed in the playoffs. This is what it's all about, what a week next week!

Thank god we got rid of that idiot.

Even more shocking are some of the early comments on this video:

Give the guy a break. Just because they are down means that he should be miserable? It's also not the reporters job to ask what they were talking about.

the fuckin media are scum. they love taking things out of context and blowing them way out of proportion. at least let the guy be human. is he not allowed to smile?

He's not at a funeral. Not sure what the big f'ing deal was. Does the losing sideline have to be stony-faced in every game? I think they understand the ramifications of losing like that. People lose jobs, changes are made, but it won't be based on who on the sideline has a frown on their face.

Geez, it would be nice to see this on ESPN, but I am in minute 8 of some fucking Miami Heat breakdown of the game against the Wizards. Are you fucking serious, ESPN? My God, do they suck the Heats' dick or what? It is nauseating. For a team that is 10-8, and a payroll of 3 trillion dollars, I am not impressed. And this cracks me up; "Heat players frustrated by Coach." Huh? Why don't you fucking money grubbing, ball hogging Thugs play some fucking defense for once? No no no...blame the young coach, don't look in the mirror for heaven's sake.

You guys hear about this? The stadium dj at last weeks Iron Bowl between Auburn and Alabama got run for bumping the wrong song during a timeout. The song in question? "Take the Money and Run" by Steve Miller Band. I guess it was a stab at Cam Newton, and Auburn officials were incensed. Dude got run right after the song was played.

Agree. As a competitor, I don't think I've ever had a smile on my face or even talked to anybody on the sideline if we were ever getting our ass beat as a team or getting embarrassed.

Man, I agree. That to me was a good fucking knock by Harrison. What else can he do for Christ's sake?! I don't think Goodell understands how fast the NFL is and how fast the game is played...a player can't stop on a dime. I just hate the way this is heading. He is making it as pussified as the NBA for shit's sake.

The counterargument is that Deuce simply was telling him something to lighten the mood in light of the assraping they were getting. So, the reporter was being a dick by pressing him. Mayby he was. That, however, is still not enough to explain it: I've had teammates try to cheer me up that way too, and let me tell you, you would not so much as even get a grin from me unless I was at least a few hours removed from getting my ass kicked. If you tried that shit WHILE I'm in the middle of said asskicking, at best you'd get a stonefaced reaction, and at worst I'd tell you to get the fuck away. Anderson is a pussy.

102.5 WDVE is the most popular radio station here in Pittsburgh and is a huge part of my daily success's of my morning commute. They cover all aspects but is mainly a sports station for the Steelers, Pens and Buccos. Their skits are priceless and are made of pure genius and hilarity.

One of my fav segments I look forward to weekly is the NFL bookie picks. They bring on a 75 year old retired bookie (who booked with one of the co-hosts dad back in the day) and he is un-controllable out of control. They have to always do MAD editing and he goes off the deep end at one point or another almost every week. Here's his picks for this week. I give you: DICEY.

Even if Pittsburgh does win, I don't see them going far in the playoffs. Some weeks ago, I really thought we had a legitimate shot at making it to Dallas, but looking at the overall picture and how the league is starting to crack down on certain players on the defensive side of the ball and how the art to the Steelers success is the physical play on the defensive front, mixed in with the offensive line injuries (on our 8th or 9th line rotation of the season) woes who can't protect Ben as it is, and now with Roethlisberger nursing a broken foot, it'll be very tough for the Steelers to maintain a high level of play, esp in the post-season.

Ben won't be able move the way he eludes the rush and how he makes plays happen with his feet outside of the pocket, so it looks like every aspect of the Steelers game is takin away from them whether it be of injury, or the way the league is cracking down on certain teams and players who play the game at a vicious level & that goes for any other team that's built like Pittsburgh is.

Since the Steelers need this one pretty damn bad, one that could define a season, then I'm all in and calling a 23-17 Pittsburgh win. However, I wouldn't be shocked to see Pitt lose by that wide of a margin.

That's (potentially) not a wide margin. Could be 16-10 Baltimore with Pittsburgh driving late ... only to end with an 83 yard pick to the house and a 23-10 final.

Nice observation. Coincidentally, I was thinking the same thing in the Steelers favor. Maybe the Steelers trailing late 17-13 in the 3rd QRT or so, getting a huge turnover that results in a score of 20-17, then adding a late 4th QRT FG to go ahead by a frail 6 points with a 23-17 lead which boils down to major dramatics at the end to stop Baltimore this time on their game winning drive. We shall see, should be another classic. These teams never disappoint.

After watching the Steelers for the past couple of weeks, I'm going on record, and saying they're overrated. Their offense blows. Their corners suck. Their offensive line can't block anything or anyone. I love Polamalu but he can't do it all, and Ed Reed is probably even better. I don't have a dog in this fight because I'm not a fan of either team, but looking at it objectively, Baltimore has a better team and I'm not sure how the Steelers offensive line are going to block Baltimore's blitz happy defense. I still think it will be a close game (because they always are), but I see Baltimore pulling it out. Travis is right though...this is Pittsburgh's entire season, so I wouldn't be stunned to see them win. I think that if they lose this game, they probably won't make the playoffs.

Right now, the AFC Playoff picture looks like this:

1. N.Y Jets (9-2)
2. Baltimore Ravens (8-3)
3. Kansas City Chiefs (7-4)
4. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-5)
-----------------------------------
5. New England Patriots (9-2)
6. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3)

Key matchups for Week 13:

Denver @ Kansas City
Jacksonville @ Tennessee
Pittsburgh @ Baltimore
N.Y Jets @ New England

Whoever wins the Pittsburgh/Balt game AND Jets/Pats game will essentially have first bid at the first two seeds in the playoffs with the losers of those 2 games essentially looking at the 5/6 seeds, or potentially, out of the playoff hunt so out of all of the big games this week that have teams scratching to get in the hunt (Colts, Dolphins, Chargers) it's the Steelers/Ravens/Pats/Jets that will determine the landscape of what we will see in the post-season ALL IN ONE GAME and ONE WEEK, which is absolutley astounding.

There's a BOATLOAD of scenarios that can happen right now that is way too much to get into (head to head records, division records, Conference records.) These games this week NEED to play out before we can dig any deeper so for these 4 teams: Steelers, Ravens, Jets and Patriots, it's all or nothin. These 2 games this week could be re-matches down the road.

U do realize that EVERY NFL team can still video games from approved vantage points, just NOT the sidelines where the Patriots were fined for. U also realize every teams send advanced scouts to get opposing teams signals & keep logs then library the material. They match it to video, etc.
Again, you can no longer tape from the sideline but can from approved locations! HATER!
From Browns 5 year scout pre Spygate, Jeremy Green: "It was my job to chart what signals he gave & which players came in & out of the game. Is it a 3-receiver or 4-receiver package? Is it a short-yardage package or are they in their base personnel with 2 running backs, 2 receivers and 1 tight end? This is very valuable to a defensive coaching staff because the quicker they can determine what the offense is doing, the sooner they can adjust their personnel to get that extra defensive back or defensive lineman into the game.
For a time, teams used a "deke" in which they would run offensive personnel halfway onto the field & then call them back to confuse defensive coaches, but the league has since instituted a rule that says once an offensive player gets past the numbers he must continue to the huddle or be assessed a penalty."
