Are you ready for your Steelers season to be over this weekend?
Even if Pittsburgh does win, I don't see them going far in the playoffs. Some weeks ago, I really thought we had a legitimate shot at making it to Dallas, but looking at the overall picture and how the league is starting to crack down on certain players on the defensive side of the ball and how the art to the Steelers success is the physical play on the defensive front, mixed in with the offensive line injuries (on our 8th or 9th line rotation of the season) woes who can't protect Ben as it is, and now with Roethlisberger nursing a broken foot, it'll be very tough for the Steelers to maintain a high level of play, esp in the post-season.
Ben won't be able move the way he eludes the rush and how he makes plays happen with his feet outside of the pocket, so it looks like every aspect of the Steelers game is takin away from them whether it be of injury, or the way the league is cracking down on certain teams and players who play the game at a vicious level & that goes for any other team that's built like Pittsburgh is.
Haha, I see you working, Trav. I see right through this post. What you are is downplaying the Steelers...so in the case of the Steelers losing today, or early in the playoffs, you can fall back on this post and say to us you told us so, and that you didn't really expect to win because of all the injuries to Ben and the hitting with your head nonsense. By the way, regarding Harrrison, he does lead with his head quite often. I disagree with you in that he has perfect tacklingposture...you want to see perfect hitting/tackling, watch Lewis tonight- he hits the way one is supposed to hit...and he never gets fined either. Back to point, my assertion is that you are downplaying the Steelers and if they lose, you won't look like a complete ass, and if they win, hey you can be as happy as a pig in shit....works out perfectly.
Anyway, I would just like to ask why the all of a sudden no confidence in your beloved Steelers?
Uh, Dean, come on dude. Stop stretching for straws to try to "see through my posts." I simply write down how I feel and the above observation is no different in how I see things at the moment or beyond. What exactly do you want me to say? If I back the Steelers to death and pick them EVERY week to win and sing their praises to the Super Bowl, I'm a "homer' and "blinded by my own black and gold koolaid" but when I write something that is CLEARLY taking place (ask any Steelers fan or ANYONE else who watched this team around, they'll prob tell you the same thing I wrote above because ESPN sure did agree) I am "setting my posts up to not make myself look like an ass." It's no different than John from Boston's predictions of "I pick New England by 10, but wouldn't be shocked to see them lose by 3 touchdowns!" What gives dude? Stop stretching just to argue with me. (By the way, in EVERY Steelers loss this year, I've picked them to lose.)
By the way, I haven't lost confidence in my Stillers, games like this DEFINE Pittsburgh and who we've become and to my understanding, picked them tonight to win because so much is riding on them to earn their victory but the offensive line is all over the place and is on their 9th line rotation, our Quarterback who means so much to our team and success of his game has a broken foot, and the past two games saw us go over 200 yards in penalties. That's a concern, esp a huge game going into Baltimore.
BTW: Stop contradicting yourself! You've been doing it almost 3 times WEEKLY! You posted last week that Harrison was making nice hits and there's nothing he can do.
Man, I agree. That to me was a good fucking knock by Harrison. What else can he do for Christ's sake?! I don't think Goodell understands how fast the NFL is and how fast the game is played...a player can't stop on a dime. I just hate the way this is heading. He is making it as pussified as the NBA for shit's sake.
Now, it's:
By the way, regarding Harrrison, he does lead with his head quite often. I disagree with you in that he has perfect tacklingposture....
Make up your mind big man!

You should be a political commercial maker, taking things and putting them into improper context.
I said, I thought Harrison's hit last week, his last fine, was ok....However, he has been fined what, 5, 6 times this season? I am not arguing any of the previous 5. He should take a call from Ray Lewis. Lewis scares the holy fuck out of people, and he hits the proper way, everytime. Tonight, I feel for Ben. Dude will look like a giant black and gold statue of Liberty....or a juicy Porterhouse steak to Lewis. He might just break that big fucker into pieces tonight.
Ray Lewis is nothing but an emotional leader for that entire football team and holds his position because of the name on the back of his jersey. He's way past his prime as far as bone crunching hits. Hell, he isn't even the best tackler on his unit. Lewis is playing smarter now than he ever has and rely's on his fierce defensive line to make him look good. I've watched the Ravens this year and even though Lewis will have some nice stuffs, the dude is out of position constantly and gets blocked more one on ones than any other backer in the league. He's much more wiser now than he instills fear.
Half of Harrisons hits were legal, without question. Against the Raiders, he got called for "putting his entire body weight" on Campbell. He made the SAME exact him on Fitzpatrick last week and you even see him put his hands on the ground so he didn't put his body weight and he STILL gets flagged and then fined.
The NFL has now made a stand and is trying to make their point into setting a new standard in the NFL, and that means calling everything AND anything from now on to get to the point of "protecting." This is the first year it's been this well documented. The Steelers and the NFL as a whole have been hitting like this for decades, they are just now taking that element away and are certainly making a push into turning this league's adrenaline from testosterone, to estrogen.
