:D Hockey happiness!.....nicely done Canucks!

I do feel some sorrow for Chicago fans, especially those that post here but Chicago won last year, the cup needs to come back to Canada!

Yay!

That was extremely painful, seeing as it could have very easily gone either way. But man, something got into CryBobby tonight, and he did his job. Not that Crawford didn't, though! 3 saves in basically one move was pretty unbelievable.

Well done, Canada.

Damn. Does that mean I have to stop saying "CryBobby"?

Honestly... good series, and long series. Both sides had great days and not great days.
For the record, I'd rather see Montreal take it than Vancouver. Them ginger twins give me the heebie jeebies.

Wow!! SO many game 7's this week! I tried to stay up for the Hawks/Canucks but it just got too late! Congrats to them, though I was rooting more for the Hawks. It's tough to go out first round after having that cup. From what I saw though, both teams played really well last night. Tonight's games should be pretty exciting too. Fingers crossed the Pens can do it in their game 7 tonight..... They haven't won at home this series yet... let's hope tonight's the night!! LET'S GO PENS! :)

You Montreal fans must be sick to your stomachs....your players can't score an even strength goal to save your miserable french lives....You have the best divers in the league. Pitiful play by Subban, and that last phantom highstick.

My team let me down big time. There was no excuse to play that badly, especially in a game 7.

Its not new...its actually old. Same old lousy officiating. Either let them play, or call EVERYTHING....Don't pick and choose what you are going to call by what the score is...The Habnots are flopping and diving all over the place. Vlade Divac's line is the best out there....

It pains me to say congrats to Tampa Bay. Both teams played great defense tonight. Had a feeling this would be the outcome. I WILL however, even though it's difficult, root for TB for the rest of the way. Since they are technically my "local" team I suppose. Hope I don't sound bitter!

I imagine what I'm feeling now is close to what Chicago felt last night, oh the pain!
Congrats to Boston and their fans, that was a great series!
May Vancouver be victorious in the quest for Lord Stanley's Cup!
If not them then let it be the Red Wings.....Please goal God, please!

Wow, though I didn't get the games correct, 6 out of my 8 chosen teams moved on. I haven't had a percentage like that since the pre-lockout days.

2nd Round Predictions:
Flyers vs. Bruins
Boston should be greatly thankful they survived. Seemed like every puck in OT was magnetically attracted to Tim Thomas' net. The Flyers, in typical Flyer fashion, are getting it done with a rotating door of goaltenders. I still feel the Bruins wouldn't be a playoff team if they didn't have stellar goaltending. I'm gonna take the more defensively-sound team; it won't be the dramatic comeback from 0-3 from last year. The Flyers in 5.

Lightning vs. Capitals
I saw something disturbing during the Game 7 between Tampa and Pittsburgh. During the lockout, there was an argument over weither eliminating the 2-line offsides call would open up the ice and allow more scoring. The argument was that eliminating the red line would only make teams set their neutral zone trap further back. Well, Tampa Bay implimented a 1-3-1 shell that did just that. The result was a Game 7 1-0 shutout, the style of game the NHL has been trying to get rid of. If they keep implimenting this system, I don't see why they can't beat the Capitals, who are perrenial underachievers. Lightning in 6.

Predators vs. Canucks
This could potentially be a higher-scoring series than what is written on paper. The Blackhawks once again exposed the weaknesses of Roberto Luongo. Likewise, The Preds' Pekka Rinne is one of those 70+ games goalies, and I don't like playoff goalies who play that many games before the playoffs...fatigue is gonna kick in sooner or later. My instincts say don't do it, but I'm taking the team that looks better on paper. Canucks in 6.

Sharks vs. Red Wings
To my shock and amazement, not only did swiss cheese Niemi not cough up the series, but Joe Thornton scored the series clinching goal! Perhaps tried and true formulas that support a Sharks' elimination should be thrown out the window? Or, maybe not...the Red Wings are more defensively sound than the Kings were, and they're due for a series win over the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year. Wings in 7.

It was a good season considering how the Pens held their own during that second half of the season without their 2 studs that complete a hockey team and what every hockey team needs in Malkin and Crosby. Splash in some more key injuries du...ring the season to deal with adversity and we still were in position to take a #2 seed.

We were good enough to move on, we led the series 3-1. We just collapsed and collapsed hard. In hockey, one single player makes a difference and we were missing two of them. Good season, although watching that Power Play made me want to catch myself on fire.

Agree 100%! They had a lot of injuries involving starters all season. Staal was out a lot the first part of the season I remember. It's not been an easy season, but they still made it far.

I just could not believe they had a power play AND an empty net that last 1:30 and they still couldn't tie it up! It was killing me!!! Let's hope the team comes back stronger next season! I'm just so happy to have made it to a playoff game this year, even if not on home ice! To me, that was the highlight of the season! And they won that game too!

I'd go with the Flyers in seven in this one. Philly will get through , but just. Agree the Flyers should cruise but the goaltending situation in Philly has been a worry, and the Flyers performanc on the power play has been absolutely frustratingly awful since about Mid February.

Watching the Bolts/Caps game one....it's tied 2-2 in the 2nd. I would not discount TB. They are a good team this year.

Um, dont tell me who I can root for :P The Penguins are out, TB is local, they are considered the underdog, and I will root for them. When both teams are viable, it's the Pens. Plenty of people pick a team to root for when their team doesn't make it. Like one of my friends following the BRUINS now that the Pens are out. Something I won't do, other than hoping they beat Philly out. They are a bigger rival to me for the Pens.

I have been to 2 TB games now, dressed in Pens shirts. Their fans were not rude, and their team doesn't play dirty like SOME I've seen. There is no reason for me not to root for them. :)
