I know I am committing a crime in the form of the 11th commandment (disagreeing with TNC), but Obama is hamstringed in by the system/structure put into place in US Federal Gov't. I truly do not think he wants to govern the way he is(has to), especially with a GOP House. You take what you can get, when you know damned well you can't what you want (see Obama Health Care). He clearly wanted a Single Payer, Universal System, but when Bill Clinton came out towards the end of that farce(see GOP scare tactics, also called outright lies and distortion), and said, "I think this is the best you are going to get, and it's better than what we currently have."- Obama saw that quote and learned from it. He has definitely moved more to center, and is governing like, ahem, a very electable moderate, because, ding ding ding, moderates get elected, far righties as well as far lefties do not(see Tea Baggers).

LOL, as bad as Obama is to you far out rightlanders, you still have no one on your bench who can beat him, let alone make it fucking competitive. This is going to be a landslide, especially with gas coming down 75 cents next week and unemployment slowly declining as well.

PS- Getting OBL will carry a lot more weight than you far out to lunch righties think. Obama punched his ticket for another 4 years 2 weeks ago.

FF, I've come to the conclusion that you and Hannity are cut from the same cloth...You vote strictly republican, no matter what the issues, or platform. You seem to be a blind follower of politics. And you don't let anything go. Quit talking about Clinton, Carter....etc. That's the past. Cause I gurantee you the republican party has had more stiffs in office than Rip has autographed CD inserts....

Question....do you even believe the shit you shovel in this thread? In your mind anyone democrat is the anti-christ, and anything republican is revered like a blowjob from a toothless gypsy....have you friended Sean Hannity on FB? Does your junk get all a-twitter when you get a tweat from Charles Krauthammer? Do you secretly pine for DICK morris? Ann Cuntler? Bernie Goldberg? Are these your role models? Seriously, what is your deal?

I've seen more original thought from two students accused of plagiarism....

WTF, have you started throwing nerf footballs too?

No, he's just been sore.

As for Obama punching his ticket two weeks ago? I wouldn't count on it. If the economy doesn't improve more than it has (and it looks like it might start going south again), it's not going to matter one bit to voters.

Deano.... Unemployment is RISING.... here's a nice government stat for you .. the U6 number is the number that counts...

http://www.bls.gov/lau/stalt.htm

U-6 - total unemployed, plus all marginally attached workers, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all marginally attached workers.

Gas prices... OBL... MEANINGLESS by election time 2012..

The bottom line with 2012 is going to be the economy AT THAT MOMENT... and if it's WORSE... Obama will get hammered like a Chicago hooker...

Most likely we're gonna see some sort of forced US austerity before 2012... the Fed cannot continue QE as the rest of the world stops accepting USD's, and pushes back all that currency to the US shores... forcing the Fed to quell its domestic inflationary effects by raising rates... and stalling the economy further... which will in turn stall hiring and increase employment.

Wall Street, the Fed... They don't want Obama in office.. because in order for him to get the votes NOW he has to become more populist.. which means more pro-regulation government intervention Wall Street's casino.. Obama has worn out his usefulness to the Street...

They need a new guy in the White House so they can continue the fleecing.... it does not matter Dem, Rep, Tea Party, whatever... they'll (the Street and Banks) pour money into the campaigns of the next guy (or gal) that keeps government out of their way..

Great News!

Sarah Palin has the "Fire in the Belly" to run for President.

I can only pray, and hope, she does. America, 68% at last count, thinks she is well, stupid, and is unelectable. If she runs, she will be exposed and will be off my TV forever. Please God, if you exist, let this retarded bitch run for president and make the republican party look even dumber than it already is.

A special thank you to Mr Newt Gingrich. He alone has put the House back in play for the Democrats. He is a gas can...dude pours gas all over the place and lights a match. Love that guy! The GOP may finally be done for a long time come this next election. They are an embarrassment.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The politicians aside, which are far better than the race baiting, minority crippling leeches on the left, republicans are predominantly white, educated, self-sufficient, responsible, family oriented folks living the American dream. Post-election, they return to their big homes, fat pay checks and successful lives. Churches, too, though I'm not a kneeler. But, in the end, who's in the White House doesn't affect a republican nearly as much as it does a government dependent, shameless failure. That inner city trash is the democratic backbone. America, the farm and land-owning workers, votes red. And win or lose an election , they really always win. That's just what winners do. 8)

That was awesome! You should apply to Fox News. They could use your spin doctor talents.

Actually, nothing you said is really accurate. While true that many affluent folks do work hard and go to school, the real fact is that a shit ton of the rich come from priveliged backgrounds, and rich mommy and daddies. Many were born into cash; just ask George W Bush. In fact, take Good ol W and put him up against President Obama. One was born to a dirt poor mother and a deadbeat father, went to school via grants and loans(made available by the Federal Govt), and um, oh yeah, won the presidency of the United Fucking States. I would call Mr. Obama one helluva an overachiever. Now take that stupid sonofabitch W Bush. That cocaine snorting, alcoholic redneck was born with a silver spoon in his hole, and basically was handed a college degree. Let me ask you this...how was W denied entry in the University of Texas, yet somehow got into Yale? That one doesn't add up to me. Weel, in any event, dude went on to "win" the presidency, if you can call handing the bastard the state of Florida, which in no way shape or form voted for him.

I rest my case.

Daniel, you really need to let the white/black argument go. It doesn't make you look good in my opinion.

I don't think the guy's had a non-political job in his life! He was the left's chosen one ... the light-skinned, but just dark enough, well-spoken ananoly in a party ready to pounce on wide-eyed college kids, the liberal faction and the black color vote.

Rockindeano wrote: Let me ask you this...how was W denied entry in the University of Texas, yet somehow got into Yale?

Don't work at either college, but he obviously did Yale very proud. Serviceman, governor and twice elected president. Just comes from an incredible family.

Counted ballots suggested otherwise ... several times!
I rest my case.

And shamelessly shielding yourself with some sort of bunk race card makes you look bad. But, as to how I look, I don't really give a fuck! When the black community can have black grants, black colleges, unfair, mandated job requirements and all sorts of other bullshit "reparations," I'll continue to reserve the right to bark up a storm at how the color I happen to be is stomping their asses in terms of being fathers, staying out of prison, not joining gangs, staying away from drug use, and not getting diseases. And I don't give a fuck who that offends. It's just the truth.

Again you are wrong:

From a 20 YEAR STUDY of American millionaires: http://www.amazon.com/Millionaire-Next- ... 0671015206

  1. "About 80% of [the millionaires] are first-generation affluent." That's right. Forget about the myth of old money; most people in this country work hard (and smart) to make their money. One of the major ingredients for success is to use good old "elbow grease."

  2. "About 66% of American millionaires are self-employed." Sure, that corner office may be nice, but starting a small business may make more financial sense if you're even the slightest bit an entrepreneur"

Slucero, Dean is preaching what he's been lied to about and gullible enough to believe. "It's not your fault you're not rich. That's inherited." Hey, I'm not riich, either, but I KNOW what it takes. I've just been content to be weak enough to sort of float through life. But I do pretty well on about 40-50k. :)

Wrong again, neo-cons! Here's a breakdown of the attainment of wealth in the Forbes 400.

42 % Born on Home Plate: inherited sufficient wealth to rank among the Forbes 400. This percentage is higher than that listed by Forbes for inheritors. The reason: Forbes listed as "self-made" people who actually inherited substantial sums or property and then later built that stake into a greater fortune. One example is Philip Anschutz (net worth: $5.2 billion) who is listed as "self-made" even though he inherited a $900-million oil and gas field.

6 % Born on Third Base: inherited substantial wealth in excess of $50 million or a large and prosperous company and grew this initial fortune into membership in the Forbes 400.

7 % Born on Second Base: inherited a medium-sized business or wealth of more than $1 million or received substantial start-up capital for a business from a family member.

14 % Born on First Base: biography indicates wealthy or upper-class background that was to our knowledge less than $1 million, or received some start-up capital from a family member. Due to the study team's conservative coding rule, it is likely that some of those listed as born on first base actually belong on second or third base.

31 % Born in the Batter's Box: individuals and families whose parents did not have great wealth or own a business with more than a few employees.

Less than half of the richest Americans started out with less than $1 million in their pockets. Nice try.

Except....

Each year UFE releases its survey "Born on Third Base: The Sources of Wealth of the Forbes 400" to coincide with the World Series and employs baseball language to assess the status of the very rich. Its data track the financial and biographical origins of the 400 richest individuals and families listed in the October issue of Forbes magazine.

http://www.metroactive.com/papers/sonom ... -9752.html

... meaning its data-set is not "all millionaires"... just those in the Forbes 400

So my original statement:

  1. "About 80% of [the millionaires] are first-generation affluent." That's right. Forget about the myth of old money; most people in this country work hard (and smart) to make their money. One of the major ingredients for success is to use good old "elbow grease."

  2. "About 66% of American millionaires are self-employed." Sure, that corner office may be nice, but starting a small business may make more financial sense if you're even the slightest bit an entrepreneur"

...remains true....

I haven't been lied to about anything, and if there is one redeeming quality about me, yes, I have at least one, that is I can think for myself. I spent 7 years in college and believe I learned a great deal and attained a quality education, second to none. Having said that, I had money once. Hell, I made 156K in one year at Amtrak. I had the world by the balls, but my fundamental beliefs regarding social liberalism and equal opportunity economic mentality, I stand by my beliefs. Poor people generally aren't poor because they choose to be. Sure there are some lazy fucks who won't work a day in their piss poor lives, but IMHO, the great majority of American citizens/workers do work hard and play by the rules. The economic structure in this country simply is not a fair one.

Want an example? How about the douche in Michigan who just won 2 million in the lottery(well, 2 years ago), and this fat ugly fuck still collects food stamps. Explain this one will ya? How does this rich sonofabitch deserve to receive food benefits?

Does your junk get all a-twitter when you get a tweat from Charles Krauthammer? Do you secretly pine for DICK morris? Ann Cuntler? Bernie Goldberg? Are these your role models? Seriously, what is your deal?

I've seen more original thought from two students accused of plagiarism....

WTF, have you started throwing nerf footballs too?

Funny stuff. FF, care to comment?

Not really. I'm damned conservative and proud of it. The name dropping is hilarious as I listen to NONE of the above mentioned pundits at ALL, save the occasional Krauthammer bit now and then. It's so funny because I personally can't stand Hannity and haven't seen or listened to him in forever. Whatever, keep thinking up new derogatives for conservatives, as Dan so aptly says, it won't affect me one iota and I'll just keep on winning.

Winning? Tell you what, I will give you 10-1 on the next General election. I'll take Obama and you can have the entire GOP field.

You game?

Then, for laughs, we'll go straight up for the House. :)

No wonder Amtrak loses so much money.

As to the guy from Michigan, I read that under federal guidelines he was eligible for the Food Stamps because he took a lump sum lottery payout, had he took the 30 year payout he wouldn't have been. Go figure.

To be fair FF, I worked a shit ton of OT. As soon as I was "Federally Rested," I was back on the lead unit going somewhere. OT was 43 bones an hour. The funny thing is, while scheduled departure time was say 10AM, we would be called to duty at 8AM, brief and have coffee...all on the clock. Yes, TONS of waste, err, mismanagement. Then, when we left the station, we only had 10 hours to complete the run, and if it was a 400 mile run, that was hard to do; so we would have to stop and recrew, because we weren't allowed to travel a single foot past 12 hours on duty. Another archaic rule. One time, we stopped 1/8th of a mile from the next terminal, and had to stay stopped and await a new crew. Waited for 2 hours. Shit like that happens all the time unfortunately.

Yet you support gov programs that do this shit all day long every fucking day. I don't get it.

Absolutely I do. Amtrak is a fantastic program. 4th largest carrier in the country, carrying 25 million riders and 6th straight year of increased ridership. The problem isn't the program, it's the Goddamned management at Amtrak. We'd call it Ammanagement and we the workers, always hated those cocksuckers. Can you imagine all the areas and people in this country who depend on Amtrak as their only mode of transportation, being without? The gov't would have to fund air service into tiny remote towns in the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, New Mexico, Colorado, I could go on and on. Subsidization is a must for certain things, transportation IMO, is definitely worthy of said funding. I thought you enjoyed riding the trains?

PS- in the Northeast Corridor, between Boston-Philadelphia, New York and Washington, Amtrak crushes the airlines. It's faster downtown to downtown and cheaper. Who the fuck would fly when you can go by ground with much less hassle? And weather is less of a problem for Amtrak than airlines. It's a no brainer.

Received this in an email today:

No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only get 50% of their pay, while politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive full pay retirement after serving one term. It just does not make any sense.

Monday on Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop?

35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government - Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on.

This is an idea that we should address.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message.. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

Oops: Obama signs wrong year at Westminster Abbey?

Posted by: CNN White House Producer Alexander Mooney

A message written by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in a guest book during their visit to Westminster Abbey Tuesday has the day right but appears to be three years off.

The message reads, "It is a great privilege to commemorate our common heritage and common sacrifice."

24 May, 2008

A Westminster Abbey spokesperson confirmed to The Telegraph that the president himself wrote the date.

Classy move Barry.....Dumbass!

I write the date wrong all the time. A few weeks ago, I wrote 1997. Non-event.

I'm looking for an upset in 2012....a darkhorse, if you will.....I fully expect the two frontrunners to beat on each other. Romney and Obama will have a knock down drag out, VERY dirty campaign.....and then some lower tier candidate will swoop in for the nomination. Obama can NOT run on his record, and Romney is about as charismatic as a Mel Gibson telephone call to his daughter....

Neither Barry, not Mitt will be your next CIC....book it! Thanks for playing. Insert another quarter....

I've lost of the number of times I have been visiting clients and when filling out the visitors book have had to ask the date. When they say 14th or whatever I often have to ask "and the month?"
