LOL. I wish you knew what you were talking about. Clueless in EVERY single post.

2:00 - 2:12 check it out. Rome comes from his diagonal right....at the point of contact his head is straight.

It's really irrelevant but, at the point of contact, his eyes are on the puck.

I'm only trying to point out that the hit did not happen BECAUSE he was admiring his pass....just saying.

I can agree with that, and I'm ok with eyes being on the puck because that's where they're supposed to be. You don't expect to get hit that late.

That joke Bettman is ruining this league. All these tweaks and rule changes the last decade have ruined the NHL/AHL and haven't even made it more popular. They are losing a lot of hardcore fans and gaining a few casual fans. The casuals are ruining hockey.

This ruling will effectively de-emphasize the physicality we see for the rest of this series.

While I don't agree with your point that Bettman is clueless, I couldn't disagree more that this ruling (if you're referring to the 4 game suspension that Rome got) is going to "de-emphasize the physicality" in this series. Hell, you could make the argument that this series has been all about old time hockey. I think there were 70+ hits in that game the other night (unheard of in today's NHL). Suspending a minor league hockey player (which is what Rome is) isn't going to impact a thing, which is precisely why Bettman and his crew picked such an insignificant player to make an example out of. As far as I know, Rome doesn't have a history of hits like this, so I really don't understand suspending the guy for 4 games. I think Dean is kidding himself if he really doesn't believe it was a "make up" call for the biting incident. The reality is that the NHL received a whole lot of criticism (And I'm referring to non Vancouver and Boston fans) from people who really don't have a rooting interest in this series for looking the other way. I certainly don't think the bite by Burrows was remotely significant, but that's not really the point. Listen to the Scott Ferrall show on Howard 101. Dude is a HUGE NHL fan and could care less which one of these teams win the game and he ripped the NHL for not suspending Burrows. See his rant below taking the Bruins to task for not taking out one of Vancouver's top players:

The Bruins Game 3 win was embarrassing, not only that they blew out the Canucks but that they didn’t seek revenge on the Rome hit on Nathan Horton. Horton’s one of their top scorers on their top line, one of Boston’s most influential guys on the ice in terms of ice time shifts, power play. He does everything for them. He’s one of their guns, and they let the Canucks six or seven defense men go out and take a cheap shot, come off the ice, lift his skates off the ice, jack him up, concuss him, send him to Massachusetts General Hospital where he’s apparently moving his extremities and everything but who cares. He’s finished. He’s not playing in Game 4 and they did nothing about it, the Bruins. They pussed out. They had their chance a number of times. They were up four-nothing. Chara hooked Ryan Kessler and said let’s go, let’s stop the gloves, and Kesler’s like fuck you, and the bottom line is they never did anything. Thornton got thrown out of the game for getting rough in the corners and there was a couple of scrums, but really the whole night was bullshit with all the pussy finger biting. Every time there was a whistle, the Bruins’ players would take their gloves off and stick their fingers in the Canucks’ players’ mouth area trying to get them to bite them like we know Bruins did in Game 2 in Vancouver, and now it’s all about biting. How about kicking somebody’s ass for taking out your top player? How about flopping somebody that attacks your top player? How about going after one of their top players? How about going after the knees of the Sedine twins or trying to decapitate Roberto Luongo or taking Ryan Kesler and slashing his ankles and Achilles? I mean, do some fucking thing. I mean just ‘cause they won 8-1, Vancouver got away with everything. They got away with the Burrows bite in Game 2 and they got away with the Rome hit on Horton. Now Rome’s gonna meet with the NHL today and he’s gonna fined in heavy doses. He’s finished playing, but he doesn’t matter anyway so the goal was to get rid of Horton and it worked, and the Bruins did nothing about it. Now they woke up, they’re alive, they win eight-one, they’re still down two-one and if they don’t win Game 4, the series is over. So they still have to win on Wednesday night. It’s gonna be a great game.

Ferrall is awesome, but he isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Self discipline in the playoffs is more important than decapitating Bobby Lu.

I need to go make a black pickle.

Not sure who Scott Ferrall is, but he sounds like a real jackoff. These are The Stanley Cup Finals, not some backyard hillbilly MMA contests! The Bruins responded the very best way they possibly could, in that they kicked the ever-living fuck out of the Canucks. Luongo has shown himself to be a head case and fall apart in bunches, and the mental rape they put on him will resonate much longer and deeper than any fight could. By generally keeping their collective cool, the Bruins have, in 2 periods, taken all of the momentum in this series and have positioned themselves very well entering Game 4. It's not very often that a team down 2-1 has every motivational weapon going for them. Any jackoff complaining and Monday morning quarterbacking about an 8-1 win in The Stanley Cup Finals is about as relevant as a rubber crutch in a polio war.

Ferrall is on Sirius 101 in the evening. He talks trash and interiews players, using adult language...it's pretty refreshing to be honest. He used to do color for the Thrashers.

Whaaaaat? When Havlat got flattened the same way by Kronwall in '09, you argued with me that it was a good hit and that Kronwall's 5 major and game misconduct were excessive. Now this Boston puss takes basically the same hit, and it's a crime, appropriately punished?

Two things I'd like before I die:

A decent sports conversation, sans the feminine commentary

and

a hefty moratorium on all references to singers emoting

oh, and a third - if I may:

What the fuck is an itch, and why the fuck does scratching make it go away...

Are you on dope? BjG has made far less posts in total here than you, and at the same time, made a lot better, informed and good solid posts, while not whining a single note. Every sentence you write contains whining. You should copyright whining as one of your self owned propert rights- Intellectual Property if you will.

I agree the "emoting" thing grates the fucking nerves and makes NO sense whatsoever...that is the most ridiculous thing I have read here over the years, although I do love Deb, it gets rather old. So the guy "emotes?" Big fuckin deal? I emote in every post I make here. What am I failing to understand here?

No, it's actually Intellectual Property. That's what pisses me off to no end about you. You're obviously a smart guy, but you can't argue your way out of a used condom. Just say stupid shit all the time, of course coated with layers of negativity and cynacism.

Havlat had the puck and one should expect to be checked when they have the puck (though, not illegally like that). But not seconds after they pass it. Apples and oranges.

Well, the definition of 'emote' for starters there sweetie!

On second thought, you do have a point, 'emote' can be used for the spoken word too and that's not what I mean (strictly song delivery). Soul is a better choice. LOL I'll retire 'emote' and replace it with 'soul' or 'passion'. Better?
