Good Grief! 5 yr. old drummer playing Tom Sawywer - well!

Ya know, a few years ago, this would have floored me but after you've seen so many examples of kids - young kids - doing amazing things you kinda get immune to it. HOWEVER.... this kid is tiny! Look at how big the sticks look compared to him  Peart would be proud to know his legacy continues to reach even the newest aspiring musicians. And he's got a cool name too: Jonah Rocks!

Several years ago there was an 11 year old kid here in Cleveland that would sit in with bands at one of the bars in my area. He was a drummer, and he would play Tom Sawyer and a number of other Rush songs flawlessly. He would also play a bunch of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix songs. He was in a national drumming competition against mostly adults and some older teens, and he finished really well in the competition.

Ahhhhh yes, you must be talking about Tony Royster Jr. Phenomenal drummer from the time he was about 10! Smitty has worked with him and has high praises for him.

Another "WOW" kid is this 11 yr. old (he's now 16). Now these kids can f-ing rock! Their band is called Mindwalk Blvd and they've got a bunch of originals and have won all sorts of Battle of the Bands comp's, etc. This vid is them playing YYZ followed by a kickass original. If you like them, there are a ton of vids to watch on YT.

The night I discovered them, Steveo, and I were posting links back and forth as we'd find various videos of them performing some really awesome material. Here's that thread with bunches of links.

The fact that the sticks are literally longer than his arms cracks me up!
