In fact, a shocking 49 percent of all babies born in the U.S. are born to families receiving food supplements from the WIC program, according to Jean Daniel, spokesperson for the USDA.

Yep! I fill out WIC forms at work all the time. And what amazes me most is the mamas of these babies, who "need" this free formula and food, can miraculously still somehow afford iPhones, Coach purses, BMW SUV's, etc.

I saw a Mexican woman in front of me at the checkstand tonight, get denied using an EBT card, then reach into her purse for another EBT card, which was also denied. On the 3rd card she drew out, well, it got approved. She and her two kids pushed out their $328 worth of groceries and got into a near new Ford Expedition Limited. She barely speaks English. How in the fuck are some people getting 3 EBT cards and why are they driving such vehicles? Something is lopsided and when these illegals have more buying power than me it makes me want to puke.

And about 95% of all Republicans wish Reagan would be reincarnated and head the GOP ticket.

Obama is mediocre, but he's all the Democrats have. And he's better than anything the Tea Bagger Nation has to offer.

You thinking this disaster is "mediocre" speaks volumes about the gutter standard your party has for its self and this Nation.

KISS frontman Gene Simmons: Rick Perry will be our next president

Just looking at a picture of KISS grosses me out, but you’ve gotta wonder whether Gene Simmons might be on to something with a prediction he tweeted yesterday.

“I voted for Pres Bush. I voted for Pres Clinton. I voted for Pres Obama. The next president will be Gov Rick Perry,” Simmons broadcasted.

A few minutes later, he backed up the prediction with another tweet touting what few conservatives would consider to be Perry’s most sterling credential.

“Gov Perry worked for Al Gore and then switched to Republican. He will be our next President. I’ve never been wrong,” Simmons wrote.

But, before you disqualify his opinion because he voted for Clinton and Obama, consider that Simmons has been vocal about his regret for the way he cast his vote in 2008. The Daily Caller has more:

While the iconic musician may claim to be an infallible crystal ball, Simmons has on multiple occasions expressed regret for voting for President Obama. In an interview with CNBC last May, Simmons, who is Jewish, slammed the President for calling on Israel to return to its 1967 borders.

“I think [Barack Obama] is actually a good guy. He has no … idea what the world is like because he doesn’t have to live there,” the vociferous musician told a rather startled Jane Wells.

In the same interview, the increasingly political Simmons waged a harsh war of words against the United Nations, calling it the “most pathetic body on the face of the planet,” “garbage infested, and a “paper tiger.”

Simmons did, however, accurately predict the outcome of the 2010 mid-term elections last September, forecasting that the Tea Party movement would bring “major change.” Only time will tell whether the KISS front man will be right again.

Of course, any astute observer could have predicted that the Tea Party movement would bring “major change” in 2010, but that doesn’t mean Simmons is wrong about Perry. Any astute observer of the GOP primary race so far knows the Texas governor has already brought major change to the dynamics of the field, from topping Romney in Rasmussen’s latest poll to trading barbs with the president about jobs to accusing Ben Bernanke of treason. The question, of course, is whether he has staying power. The Ames debate and straw poll have barely receded into the background and the nation’s already ready for the next debate — or, really, any opportunity to scrutinize or praise Perry on the national stage.

Rick Perry looks shifty-eyed and has a chronic four-o'clock shadow, like Nixon. For these reasons alone, he doesn't stand a chance. Obama will give another historic speech, semi-apologising for the last four years, and dumb people will vote for him all over again.

Neither Perry or Rommney , Bachmann or Palin will win the GOP nomination. One of the lower tier guys will catch fire. I wouldn't be suprised if it was Huntsman who caught fire. He got a big endorsement from the American Conservative magazine last week, and and alot of
paleo-conservative republicans sick of neo-con crap have started to look into him.

I'd be greatly surprised. Huntsman might have stood a chance in the Republican primary, if it was held 40 years ago - back when the GOP still had moderate elements. Nowadays, his stances on gay civil unions and global warming makes him stand apart from the pack - and not in a way that wins over primary voters hungry for red meat.

Gonna be tough for Obama to sidestep this politically if his uncle gets to stay... irony is he may have to order him deported to protect his 2012 hopes...

Official: Obama uncle here illegally since 1992

BOSTON -- A federal official says President Barack Obama's uncle, an illegal immigrant charged with drunken driving in Massachusetts last week, was ordered by an immigration judge to leave the country almost two decades ago.

The official says a deportation order was issued against Onyango Obama in 1992. The official spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release details on the case.

The 67-year-old Onyango Obama is the half-brother of the president's late father. He is originally from Kenya.
Onyango Obama has pleaded not guilty to operating under the influence of alcohol and is now jailed on an immigration detainer.

His attorney declined to comment on his case or how long the uncle has been living in the U.S. illegally.

The White House also has declined to comment.

I don't know there are a growing number of libertarian republicans who are really sick of gay bashing, and Huntsman has a pretty strong anti abortion record so that might innoculate him from criticism from the religious right (although you never know with them) , and hes actually to the right of Romney on alot of economic issues. He's the only one in that lot besides Ron Paul which I have any respect for and would consider voting for.

Whatever...that just seems like too little straw being grasped at.

He'll just let the judicial system handle it and let it be.

De they even really know each other? I mean, do they spend holidays together or is it just a "Oh, yeah, that's guy is my half uncle...I haven't seen him in 30yrs."

It's too late. What you have now is what you'll get. Either Romney or Bachman....and I would think Romney simply because he is well known.

The Republicans had forever to come up with a good candidate, and this is the best they could do? They have become like the Democrats prior to Clinton and just can't find a winning combination.

Right now, I don't believe ANY of them can beat Obama....and that is hilarious.

...and that is a problem...because you unofficially also have the Tea Party and oldster neo-cons. Their base is split in so many slices that it is going to be nearly impossible to unite and everybody be enthused about ONE candidate.

That's because most voters are mesmerized, and swayed by the peripheral minutiae that has nothing to do wirh governing....like religion, looks, family...etc.

Shame...Herman favors the FairTax. In fact, it is his top issue.

A viable candidate for what?!? Maybe, at the very most, a VP slot. And what would that gain the ticket ... the vote of the .5% of black people in this country that speak articulately, are conservative and have no arrests on their record?

I'd venture to guess that my post is a lot more accurate than you might think. Stats show that only about 7% of all blacks identify themselves as conservative. Add to that this:

"In 1983, Alfred Blumstein and Elizabeth Graddy examined 1968-1977
arrest statistics from the country's fifty-six largest cities.Had they included misdemeanors, the percentage of nonwhite males who could
expect to be arrested and at least briefly jailed would have reached
Blumstein's original prediction of 90%. As appalling as Blumstein's
original numbers seemed, they were confirmed by others over the
ensuing two decades."

Finally, filter out the people that made the above cut, exclude those that speak articulately, and you're probably somewhere in the neighborhood of what I suggested. I don't just make this up, Rick. I reserve that for the Journey forum.

lmao.. you are officially Mr. "Whatever"...

It's political ammo... and Obama is gonna have a hard time answering a question like:

"Mr President, given that your uncle has been in the country illegally since 1992, when he was order to leave by the court, would you not agree that his deportation be immediately enforced, as the law requires?"

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

You thinking this disaster is "mediocre" speaks volumes about the gutter standard your party has for its self and this Nation.

Wow, I'd hate to see how you'd feel about a Democrat who started a multi-trillion dollar, unnecessary war against a sovereign nation, tripled his nation's deficit, and doubled the unemployment rate.

Interesting...except the Tea Bagger position was the one that caused our credit downgrade, and is anathemic to turning the economy around IF you live in the real world.

Look EVERYONE who reads here knows you are an economic illiterate. You don't need to continually try to prove it to everyone.

Right. Even though I've PROVEN the GOP's positions in the past 10 years have been an utter and total failure. PROVED BEYOND REPROACH.

You can't wish me away. I've proven you wrong time and time again. Again, anyone can say anything they want to, but it doesn't make it right. You, in fact, have yet to disprove ANYTHING I've posted about the economy, or the proof I've put forth about the Republicans being government expansionists and middle-class and job-destroyers. So just keep flapping your jaw.

By your way of thinking, I could reason the following:

RFW posts during daytime hours. He is therefore unemployed. Since he is unemployed, he must be black or Hispanic.

That is LITERALLY how your brain works. It's amazing you haven't won a Darwin award already. I mean, hell, you're almost 60, right? How the hell did you live that long?

For instance, Rick Perry can SAY he's opposed to universal healthcare, but his record proves he's lying...or at least has done a 180 entirely for political reasons. He thought the individual mandate and government single-payor ideas were excellent:

He LOVED Al Gore and fully supported what is known to be true by climatologists today, that mankind is at least somewhat responsible for climate change:

He was his state's 1988 campaign chairman for then U.S. Senator Al Gore's first run at the presidency:

A viable candidate for what?!? Maybe, at the very most, a VP slot. And what would that gain the ticket ... the vote of the .5% of black people in this country that speak articulately, are conservative and have no arrests on their record?

You sound like a racist.

I knew you would see the  that I didn't post.

we're all after instant gratification.

we all want to be proven right in the next election.

we're so far past that hell even what we *want* won't help.

we are a civilization in a decline regardless of who takes us there.
