Explain how you conclude that Romney flip-flopped on last night's debate?
He basically said things last night that are the exact opposite of what he has been promoting.

You mean when he asked Obama "Why did you start a war in Afghanistan?"
No, I mean Romney was talking to an empty podium. And what candidate spells out intricate details of their plans in a debate? Nobody does that. Especially when they only have a few minutes each to talk. What details did Obama reveal about what he would do with 4 more years? I didn't hear specifics from him either. And for the record, Obama talked 4 more minutes than Romaney did and I still don't know what he'd do with 4 more years.
Oh come on, you do know that with Obama you will get four more years of the sameHowever you stick with Romney's "no plan" hoping that his " I am all for middle class" is really his plan , when just a week ago he said to the same middle class " dont expect big tax cuts"
"Four more years of the same" is all I need to know.
now tell me , how YOUR life has changed from 4 years ago today as far as your job, income and overall where you were in 07-08 and where you are now?

Fact Finder wrote:davidfrum @davidfrum RT @Heminator: That wasn't a debate so much as Mitt Romney just took Obama for a cross country drive strapped to the roof of his car.

I work in the oil and gas industry in Texas. Two things that Obama hates...Oil/Gas & Texas. In 2010/2011 I was on 30-hour weeks for a 10-month span. I knew things would get bad in this industry because of him so I prepared early. The oil plants we dealt with cut their yearly budgets to what they used to spend in a month a few years prior. I was still able to move to a much nicer neighborhood and in a nicer house because I prepared. I also sold my old house for $40,000 less than what it was worth a few years before that. My wife & I currently pay the equivelant of her entire gross income in taxes. That's not counting tax I pay when I buy something. I'm better off because of the pratices I've done. Not biting off more than I can chew. Certainly not because of what the president has done.

His words!
Last night he said :
“My view is that we ought to provide tax relief to people in the middle class,” Romney said during the debate. “Middle-income Americans have seen their income come down by $4,300 [under President Barack Obama]. This is a -- this is a tax in and of itself. I'll call it the economy tax. It's been crushing.”
Last Week he said :
Romney To Middle Class Ohioans: Don't Expect Too Much Tax Relief From Me

Tax relief and income are two different things but I still don't see your point of flip flopping on what is mentioned above.

With Romney in office, he loves coal![]()
So you expect Romney to get in office and hand out big checks for people who work for oil companies ?
And you think your taxes will GO DOWN ?![]()
The housing market was at its lowest 4 years ago and it's been going towards the right direction , so you cant really say things arent getting better.
Now shed some light on this so called hate Obama has towards Texas and how he makes sure that you guys pay for it ! Are you suggesting that he taxes you guys on a higher just cause you live in Texas ?

Bob Woodward, America’s preeminent investigative reporter and non-fiction author, joined Brian Kilmeade on Kilmeade and Friends and suspects that something happened in President Obama’s presidential or personal life that distracted him during last night’s debate. Woodward goes on to suggest this “something” could be in foreign affairs with an intelligence report and predicts that as the onion gets peeled we will find that something happened.

I have to say I was thinking the exact same thing last night. I was thinking in a day or two some news would come out to explain his distraction. Interesting. We shall see.

Maybe he picked the wrong week to quit smoking, as previously mentioned.

No, as AlGore said, it was just the high altitude of Denver. O's brain was just lacking in oxygen.

Behshad, you're the only one that I know of so far saying Romney flip-flopped in last night's debate. Not only on this forum, but everywhere. What gives? Did you see enough sweat last night?

I think there is wide-spread commentary on the left that Romney lied and flip flopped. I'm just trying to figure out what it was. I mean, in every debate, both sides, there are these issues of comparing words and all that. But some commentary is saying he is devoid of honesty. That's a pretty big statement without backing it up. So I'm curious.
The one I keep hearing is the 5 billion dollar tax plan. And Romney says that's not his plan and the president and his team are saying he's lying. But all the fact check sites says yes, it may cost 5 billion but he is offsetting it with closed loopholes, etc. I suspect that if Romney won, he may offer a smaller tax decrease if he can't offset it. I don't know. But this argument doesn't mean someone is devoid of honesty. Weird.
The president also used a lot of stretched numbers. It's just how these things always go.
