People Walk Out On Obama At Virginia Rally

President Obama admitted to voters at a rally in Bristow, Virginia that his role in the campaign was diminishing.

“I was back stage with David Plouffe, as some of you know, he is sort of a mastermind in campaign organization, we were talking about how as the campaign goes on, we’ve become less relevant,” Obama joked. “I’m sort of a prop in the campaign.”

“The power is not with us anymore,” Obama reminded his cheering supporters. “The planning, everything we do doesn’t matter because now it's up to you.”

But as Obama was speaking, many people took their cue and began making their way to the exits to beat the parking lot traffic on the way out.

Charlie Spiering of the Washington Examiner tweeted:

Wow. Steady stream of cold people trotting towards the exit in the middle of Obama's speech.

Yep. 25000 people there and when couple of people walk to the barhrooms , it gets tweeted that people were making their ways to exits. whatever makes you feel better until Tuesday :)

I know I said some were whacked out, but I wasn't referring to that. :)

Paul Reubens is quite a funny guy. Not sure if anyone caught his cameo on "Raymond" as a comic book store owner, but it was brilliant in it's under-statedness. Kind of genius.

Yea. I wish they would've kept him as " Amy's brother" throughout the whole thing.

LOL is that why the flag kind of appears to be at half staff - that is it sounded so damn bad that they thought someone had just died and lowered the flag!

With less than 100 hours left until the presidential election President Obama continues to hold on to his leads in enough states to garner the 270 electoral votes he needs for a majority. The last Electoral College projection gave Obama 303 votes, compared to 235 votes for Mitt Romney. Today's update includes 27 new state polls released over the last over the last 72 hours, but the overall projection has not changed. President Obama is still projected to win re-election with a 303-235 Electoral College vote majority.

We’ve had the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and Luxemburg. Now there’s a new name to add to the growing list of countries that US presidential hopeful Mitt Romney allegedly uses to dodge taxes: The Netherlands.

According to an investigation by the website Follow the Money and the Dutch daily newspaper de Volkskrant, Romney has made millions of tax-free dollars through the private-equity company he established in 1994—during his pre-political days--Bain Capital.

Although Romney stepped down from Bain in 1999, he and his wife were reportedly still allowed to invest in the company until at least 2009, and were still reaping the benefits in 2010 and 2011.

And as part of his so-called “golden handshake,” the investigation says Romney got a severance deal that paid him in capital gains rather than salary, meaning the taxes he had to pay were significantly lower.

How it works

The story goes like this: In 2004, Bain acquired the Irish pharmaceutical company Warner Chilcott, which was originally registered in Bermuda but moved to Ireland in 2009 to avoid President Obama’s crackdown on Bermuda’s lax tax rules.

Then two years ago, Bain registered its interest in Warner Chilcott with the private Dutch company Alter Domus, which provides administrative services for multinational corporations and investment funds. If a Dutch company owns more than five percent of the shares in another company, than that other company is exempt from paying taxes on all capital gains.

Through exemptions like that and a host of other complicated tax treaties, the Netherlands offers huge tax breaks to companies like Bain, which is reported to have evaded 80 million euros in dividend taxes by running through the Netherlands.

Dutch tax haven

“The Netherlands is the world champion of participation exemption,” Jos Peters of tax consultancy firm Merlyn told Follow the Money.

By examining Bain’s filings with US regulators, Dutch Chamber of Commerce documents and those made public by Gawker, and even Romney’s own tax returns, Monday’s report says Romney has been able to financially benefit from the “Dutch route” as well.

The investigation says that there is a discrepancy between Romney’s tax filings and the tax-exempt Warner Chilcott shares he donated to his son’s charity in 2011, worth about $450,000.

The Tyler Foundation donates most of its money to the Mormon Church, of which Romney is a member.

Both Bain and Romney have refused repeated requests to comment on the issue.

What ever the outcome, this country's people are too divided to force the divided politicians to compromise and accomplish anything. We are in store for 4 more years of the same if not worse.

It is great how Archetype sporting the Soviet Communist Flag (not the Russian flag mind you) is eager to tell us that Obama will win. What does sporting that flag say about your feelings on the free election process. Things that make you go hmmm??????

So is it better to be in line to be one of the first to vote or is it best to be one of the last to vote in the evening? Or does it not even matter?

I'm debating whether to get there at 6am and get in line to vote before work. Definitely not going to be in a hurry and really watch to see what the machine indicates when I choose my vote. Been hearing rumors that the machines have been acting up.

One of the more memorable "gulp" moments for Republicans in '04 was the Friday before Election Day when John Kerry and Bruce Springsteen brought together a massive crowd of 70,000 to 80,000 in the liberal stronghold of Madison, Wisconsin.

Today, in a last minute push to get the vote out, the combined power of Barack and the Boss drew only 18,000.

Democrats are already worried about the early vote counts in Wisconsin. The fact that Obama is now depressing turnout for free Bruce Springsteen concerts should worry them even more.    On his own, Springsteen can attract 84,000 paying customers just a few hours away in Chicago.

Nice try ! Back in 2004 , they drew 70.000 on a THURSDAY evening. Compared to Today, MONDAY MORNING ! If anything this is a clear indication that we now have more people WORKING on a Monday , than going to a Monday Morning concert  ;)

According to a new CNN poll, Romney is beating President Obama 59 percent to 35 percent among independents even when third party candidates are included. The poll has the race deadlocked at 49 percent, but the sample includes 11 percent more Democrats than Republicans, 41 percent to 30 percent, a bigger gap than recent elections have witnessed.

What's more, the poll found a slight edge for Romney when it came to those who call themselves "very enthusiastic" about voting. In that category, Romney beats Obama 42 percent to 37 percent.

If youre gonna choose CNN, you shouldve shared this one too ;)

(CNN) – A new CNN Poll of Polls on Monday indicates the race in Ohio–perhaps the most decisive battleground this presidential cycle–is locked in a statistical dead heat.

The poll shows President Barack Obama at 50% and Mitt Romney at 47% in Ohio, one day before the election. Those numbers are an average of three Ohio polls of likely voters conducted in the last week: Ohio Poll/University of Cincinnati (Oct. 31-Nov. 4); CNN/ORC International (Oct. 30-Nov. 1) and NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist (Oct. 31-Nov.1). The Poll of Polls does not have a sampling error.

I believe that most people are too stupid to vote and should be prohibited from doing so. Anyone who votes because of guns or abortions tops that list.

That won't surprise me.

This weekend was pretty interesting. First walking in the mall parking lot from our car, a group of young males in a car cruised past slowly yelling "Obama" over and over again while raising fists out of the windows of the car. We just smiled and kept on walking, cause we don't know what these thugs would have done if pissed off. We weren't wearing anything to indicate who we were going to vote for so I take it they did so based on our color. And at SBux a small group of young males between the ages of 20 and maybe 30 were discussing how they were going to start video taping what they do if Romney wins. We didn't hear what they said they would exactly be video taping themselves doing, only that they would be video taping it.

So the only benefit I see of Obama winning is no riots and violence, which may end up being good in the long run if you consider all of the potential victims and hundreds of thousands, if not millions of damages being avoided just because the idiot is reelected. That would be the only positive result of Obama being the Pres. He's not capable of doing anything else, which looking at his past four years, it's been a fat nothing. Sure Bin Laden was taken out. But the doctor that got the DNA for us to confirm he was in fact there, was thrown to the wolves by Obama and his administration after the operation was carried out.

Romney in the popular vote with the Obama taking the Electoral College.

Sandy damaged is worst in the states that traditionally vote Democratic.

A split outcome could bring victory but some embarrassment to the President, since he is on record several times over the years stating that the presidency should go to the candidate that wins the popular vote.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
