Backing Tapes

I'll keep it simple...to anyone's knowledge, does Foreigner use backing tapes, like Journey does? They sound so good live, I can't help but figure that they do. However, I thought I read a comment, by Michael Bluestein in the past, where he said it's all live.

seem them a few times in the last year and almost all of them sing , if they are using tapes its very subtle or just for some major layering
