Today, B.O. was making yet another speech on how he is going to fix the U.S. economy, jobs, our "gun problem" etc. It took place at the Port of Miami, FL.. Reports of the event explain that there was a crane in the background that had a U.S. flag hanging from it. This flag seemed to be strategically placed, since after it blew off the crane it revealed that the crane was from a Chinese manufacturer. Oh the irony!

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle will host a star-studded roster of music legends April 9 for another glitzy installment in the “In Performance at the White House” concert series, according to a White House press released issued Tuesday.

The concert comes as the White House is emphasizing cuts caused by sequestration and criticizing reporters for not paying enough attention to the hardship caused by the mandatory slowdown in the rate of spending increases. Though the White House notably canceled all visitor tours in March, ostensibly due to sequestration, the First Couple’s series of White House concerts — billed as “the nation’s highest honor for popular song” — manages to survive.

Al Green, Ben Harper, Queen Latifah, Justin Timberlake and Booker T. Jones are among the performers confirmed for the event.

Boy, that $85 billion cut just keeps on hurting, doesn't it? I think they actually had to cut Joan Baez from the program because of the cutbacks. So sad.

Meanwhile, jobless claims and poverty are both up. Woo hoo!

So much for "open-ended QE driven recovery". Moments ago the March Non-farm payroll hit and it was a doozy, printing at 88K, below the lowest forecast of 100K, well below the expected number of 190K, and a tragedy compared to the February revised print of 268K (was 236K). This was the biggest miss to expectations since December 2009 and the worst print since June 2012. The unemployment rate declined to 7.6%, but this was due entirely to the collapse in the labor force participation rate, which declined by 20 bps to 63.3%, a new 30 year low.

What are our politicians working on today? I don't think it's helping the 36.7% of the population that has decided to just stop looking for work. It's 1979 again.

Speaking of "what are the people in Washington working on now", it seems to me that B.O. isn't working so hard. He sure likes to vacation. He played over 100 rounds of golf since taking office too.The Obama's are living the lifestyle like the "one percent" he is so found of criticizing. Nice to know he's making a sacrifice due to the economic state of the country.

Even some of the liberals that voted for him are having problems with his upcoming new budget, which will target social security and medicare, in terms of cuts. Looks like he is not gonna deliver what he sold them. Am I surprised? No. He hasn't delivered on what he promised his first term. The new jobs report is bleak and is sending the stock market downward as well. America has been sold a bill of goods. He can do this to Americans but he has no problem adding amnesty for illegals (or sorry, undocumented immigrants) in his immigration reform proposals.

The progressive group MoveOn.org labeled the president's proposed changes to Social Security as "unconscionable" and Democracy for America called the cuts "profoundly disturbing."

In a recent speech in Denver Co., B.O. said he is "constrained" by the system our founding fathers put in place. This was of course a reference to the 2nd amendment and his push in changes to our gun ownership rights. Makes you wonder what else he feels "constrained" about when it comes to what our founding fathers put in place. Guess he never thought they did that to hopefully prevent radicals like him from instituting a total take over.

That we have a President who is a supposed "Constitutional Professor", who thinks this way (that the Constitution confines him), is what is really scary..

especially when he has said this TWICE:

“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Very good point. Also what is scary is that he makes statements like this and it seems it goes largely unnoticed or not questioned. It just seems to roll off like water on on a duck. This to me signals that this country is in big trouble.

Sen. Ted Cruz points out the B.O. administrations attempts to expand federal power. I think this kind of information give us a glimpse of just how B.O. thinks he can "dictate" his rule over U.S. citizens. This and the recent statements about the "constraints" by the system our founding fathers put in place to me are very alarming.

So the numbers are out on how much B.O. earned and how much was paid in taxes. I got a question though. How much does he have to pay in everyday living expenses like the rest of us? Does he have to pay mortgage or rent while living in the Whitehouse? Does he have to pay for car and house insurance? How about car payments, clothes? How about maid and security services? Does he have to pay for the food that he and his family eats like the rest of us do? I know if I didn't have all these living expenses, I wouldn't care how much money they take out for taxes from my earnings....cause I wouldn't have to worry, I'm taken care of.

The numbers are $609K earned and $112K paid in taxes for 2012 I presume.

If I heard correctly he essentially paid a tax rate of 18%. This coming from the guy that has been preaching about how our most wealthy citizens aren't paying their "fair share" and need to do more. Somehow I don't think that B.O. would feel 18% is enough for someone at the same income level. If he is so passionate about people like him doing more, you would think he would voluntarily pay more in taxes to set an example. Nope, two faced just like every politician today. "Do as I Say, Not as I Do".

On the subject of B.O.'s pet project "The Affordable Health Care Act", a mother of 2 called into a talk show I was listening to. She talked about a letter she received from her local public school system. It explained that they were cutting their 3yr old preK program directly due to increased costs of the new Affordable Health Care Act. Not only did they cut that program but they were also limiting enrollment for the 4yr old preK program for those that are not low income families. If your are not low income and your child is accepted, you will have to pay $100 a month in addition to your local school taxes. Nice to know that this Affordable Health Care Act is not only effecting peoples jobs, cost of living, healthcare and now it seems the education of children by the public school system.

From what I've read in the news this morning, some moron sent B.O. a letter with some type of poison in it. Like B.O. is really going to check his mail box and open up mail sent to him. The person who sent that letter.....what a moron.

How do some of you people make it through the day without having a stroke? Do you keep your side mirrors tilted up looking for black helicopters whenever you go out?

Here's more good news. The latest version of the 800 page immigration bill will not only provide legalization for those here but their relatives, even those previously deported. What kind of crap is this?

Black helicopters aren't needed. Our government is destroying this country right before our very eyes, in plain sight. As far as a stroke, some may I guess, others are preparing for what's ahead.

I do when I drive cross country, like the time I was exiting Salt Lake City Utah at 9am on I-80 and going through the tolls on the San Francisco Bay Bridge at 4:30pm that same day. 737 miles in 7 and a half hours, and that's after stopping three or four times to tank up (damn classic American muscle cars with bad gas mileage). Or the time I left Los Angeles at 6am on I-5 and arrived back in San Francisco at 11am that same morning. Yeah, I look for "smokie" in those tilted up side mirrors all the time.

The guy responsible for the poison letter sent to BO and other politicians is an Elvis impersonator/entertainer (musician). Go figure. Turns out he's a real nut job with conspiracy theories and all. Just think, had this clown become famous he probably wouldn't have had time to do some stupid shit like mail poisonous letters. He'll be singing Jail House Rock for many years to come.

Here's the suspect's youtube Elvis video:

Now that U.S. intelligence is reporting that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons against it's own people, do you think B.O. is going to do anything meaningful about it as he said the U.S. response would be? Something tell me no, since there still saying they need more proof which is what they have been saying since this situation first surfaced.

I don't know. You know how sometimes they use this "chemical weapons used on civilians" claim as an excuse to get involved. I'd say the U.S. Government will do more then just sit there with thier thumbs up thier asses now that "gas" was used on some fuckers who don't even give a shit about Americans in general.
