Someone explain that to me.

Maybe I'm being naive, but conspiracy theories are just that, theories. Hard for me to believe anyone in America, let alone the Govt., want the guy dead. I mean, that sort of scenario only plays out in the movie theatres.

Bradley Manning? You think he is wrongly treated? He leaked classified US secrets away. Which harms US interests and our citizens abroad. You think he is a hero?

This has to be one of the best comments regarding this topic. It seems that people get distracted by the "side story" or something else put out by this administration just to try and keep people's focus off the real issues.

Your reply reminds me of when a black co-worker called me racist names and slurs in the workplace. I complained about it to my superiors and there were witnesses who saw this person do this to me who also talked to the superiors. During the meeting in regards to this issue where all involved were present, the black person admitted to what they did to me but justified their actions by saying they was teaching me what it's like to be called racist names and slurs. The superiors were black so that was an exceptable behavior in the workplace.

You reply reminds me that clearly you have no idea what I meant by my post.
It also reminds me (and everyone else) that you will take any opportunity to use a post to tell a story that is not only off-topic, but nothing anyone would likely be interested in either..

Good with that. Slap him on the buttocks, whack his pee-pee and tell him in a hovering motherly voice - DON'T ever do that that again! Right...... There is no evidence to the contrary that he won't be hanged, lethally injected or, at best, sentenced to prison for life. He's toast if the USA ever gets ahold of him.

I'm a former lifelong registered Republican, now independent as of the last election who, 25 years ago would have called anyone who said the government violated the Constitution to spy on its own citizens a fucking nutjob conspiracy theorist... yet here we are today with conspiracy theory now conspiracy fact.
Not sure how you got that I think Manning was wrongly treated or a hero from me simply typing his name... but,
When the federal government uses the "enemy combatant" clause to incarcerate an American citizen for a fucking YEAR without charging him, something is wrong. That right there is no different than any other dictatorship or communist country, where you can be detained indefinitely, for any reason, at any time. That is not America. That is not what the Founders wanted for this Republic.
THAT is my point. That our government has stripped away the very lawful protections that protect all citizens.. and instead replace them with definitions that allow them to side-step due process.. and it appears some folks are OK with it.. which reminds me of an old saying about "Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security", which is likely to be the result of this apathy...
.. for all of us.

Slucey...the other day, we were talking about Snowden not being here to face charges against laws he broke, and the rebuttal
was he should stay away because he would be wrongly treated. You interjected "Bradley Manning" after our posts. So, naturally, I assume you believed Pvt. Manning to be an example. Look, you make good points. No legal situation is black & white...there may be some grey mixed in there. I'm sure Mr. Manning's friends/family are going through hell, something we can't always appreciate, because we don't know everything. The US Justice Courts (in his case, Military), though, is all we've got to air out grievances. Is it 100% right? probably not...but, it's still the best system in the world. Unless, you don't agree with that assessment, either.
Peace.

They no longer work for us, the people, but for the people who give them the most money. In the days of good ol' Abe we would NOT be sending any financial aid to people who want to kill us (Muslims). No way in hell would any Muslims with radical ties be invited into the White House, as they have been, just this month. We would not be arming Syria (another group of Muslim USA haters). We would not be donating money to the Muslim brotherhood, as this administration has. Our country is feeding terrorists. You won't have terrorists, capable of world wide destruction, if they don't have the means to pay for their evil deeds. Yet, noone sees what is happening.
Now it looks like we are putting Amnesty before Border Control, but surely there are too many pages of the new laws for any of our lazy congress to read. They'd rather sit on their verandas, sipping cognac withtheir cronies, while smoking fine cigars. Immigrartion reform is going to pass in the most drunken manner. The program has more holes in it than swiss cheese. We are not going to convict these felons, but instead legalize them and continue to cater to their medical and welfare needs.......you know, the old "give birth to another kid and get a raise program"? Watch, as more free clinics are erected to serve them. Makes me mad as hell!
Why don't we focus on real issues? Snowden isn't one of them, but our government is. Why not go after and prosecute all the crooks in Obama's administration, including him?

So what should I have posted in response? I'm sure you're expecting for me to have done exacty what you do whenever anyone doesn't go along with what you think or believe, which is to talk shit in a response. I'd do just that if the only thing I had going on in my life revolved completely around a forum on the internet.
