You are making this big point about a layer of ice that is a few feet thick...and that is probably over-estimating. You are comparing that ice 'gain' to the loss of ice that is hundreds of feet thick...on land. There is less ice in overall volume at the south pole every year. That is a fact.

"Obamas Katrina moment" is what a Texas Dem. Rep. is calling it. Although Katrina was a natural disaster out of Bush's control, this border "crisis" is of Obama's own making. Of course the Dems have dreamed of turning Texas blue for years and this might help do that. People in Murietta, California have been blocking the busses of illegals being brought to their town and making them turn around and go somewhere else. It's a real issue that is for sure.

About the blocking of busses in California, at first, I was thinking that the residents in the California town which did that was doing so because they didn't want them. But after realizing how badly Dems are attempting to turn Texas into a blue state, I started to wonder if they were blocking the busses in hopes of having them return to Texas, again, to turn the state blue, since we all know most of these people will eventually vote in this country which, ten to one odds, most likely will be Democrat.

I could be wrong but I thought I heard that B.O. was going to be meeting with the TX governor about the increased influx of illegals crossing the TX border. At any rate, neither the Democratic or the Republican party is going to do the right thing when it comes to this issue. All they want to seem to do is to figure out how to sway these potential new voters to their party. Had they done the right thing the first time this issue came up in the 80's our borders would most likely be more secure. But of course as soon as the subject faded into the background they cut the funding to secure the border.

You are quite an amazing guy Monker. First specializing in politics, IT and now a NBC warfare specialist & chemist.

I'm no chemist but from basic common sense, these chemical agents in Iraq, even though they have a "maximum effectiveness" shelf life, after that "expiration" date, they still can be extremely hazardous. So basically for example during their shelf life a specific dose is capable of killing, hypothetically lets just say 50,000 people. Now after the shelf life the same dose can kill lets hypothetically just say 10,000 people. Just because it's that less effective, does that mean it's ridiculous to treat/handle/safeguard etc. such chemical agents?

And we all know that even some over the counter medications can be quite dangerous if taken after their expiration dates. Who knows exactly what dangers these chemicals in Iraq hold if anyone attempted to utilize them in some type of attack or weapon. I'm not the type who wants to stand around and find out first hand.
