That NYTimes writer was caught and was fired. That is how it's supposed to work. Furthermore, I think it is pretty rich that you rely on NBC, an "allegedly" liberal source, to expose a plagiarist at the NYTimes? So when an NBC plagiarist is canned, will you use the NYTimes as a source? Hypocrite. Seems every source is the great liberal Satan, until you need to rely on them for one of your stupid posts. Why don't you mention Buzzfeed editor, Benny Johnson, who after being caught plagiarizing, was recently given a job at the Conservative National Review? Seems Conservatives like to circle the wagons and protect their own. Maybe Benny will land his own show at Fox News? It is also worth noting, that the Times has one of the biggest staffs of reporters/correspondents of any national paper. So a little perspective is necessary when mentioning ONE corrupt writer among such a huge staff.

Dallas Nurses Claim 'No System' In Place for Ebola

National Nurses United, in a conference call with reporters Tuesday, said that several nurses at Texas Health Presbyterian complained of confusion in the days after an Ebola patient was diagnosed there, putting nurses at risk, and that there was little training.

"There was no advance preparedness on what to do with the patient, there was no protocol, there was no system," the group said in a statement.

Yet we're to believe the CDC that hospitals can handle Ebola cases. Bullshit. They can't even protect the hospital staff. If I was a patient at this hospital, I would be running to get an immediate discharge.

President Obola better get off the pot and clear this up and I mean right fucking now.

It's almost like this administration can't "think outside the box". That the only way to reduce the risk is to ban all flights from Ebola infected areas. Why not ban flights except those carrying supplies to assist in controlling the outbreak in those areas? Then have stringent screening and monitoring of those performing those flights?

(CNSNews.com) - Dr. Tom Frieden, director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said during a telephone press briefing Wednesday that you cannot get Ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus, but that infected or exposed persons should not ride public transportation because they could transmit the disease to someone else.

I'm fucking dizzy, can you or can't you Mr. Frieden?

= they don't know enough about it.

When the first case was reported the CDC should have been there to assist and gather information that may have been helpful to contain the risk to others as well as insure proper steps and protocols where being used. But, I guess exposure to a deadly disease that has a 90% chance of killing those infected by it didn't warrant this kind of response.

U.S. health official allowed new Ebola patient on plane with slight fever

"Vinson told the CDC her temperature was 99.5 Fahrenheit (37.5 Celsius). Since that was below the CDC's temperature threshold of 100.4F (38C), "she was not told not to fly," the source said."

"Chances that other passengers were infected were very low because Vinson did not vomit on the flight and was not bleeding, but she should not have been aboard, CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden told reporters."

'PILED TO THE CEILING'

"Basic principles of infection control were violated by both the hospital's Infectious Disease Department and CDC officials, the nurses said in a statement, with no one picking up hazardous waste "as it piled to the ceiling.""

They are all "flying by the seat of their pants" in responding to the Ebola situation. But, the POTUS, the CDC as well as others expect us to think they have this issue covered and are able to take the most appropriate actions. I don't have a lot of confidence in that. All that seems to be occurring is mishap after mishap. Just imagine if their were just a few dozen cases going on.

Ebola and Demlibbies have at least one distinct feature in common with one another. Strikingly neither can be reasoned with. That is an absolute.

That's funny, considering that a possible Ebola vaccine, involving stem cell research, currently has Conservatives up in arms, not "Demlibbies." If left up to you medieval assholes, we'd still be fighting polio.

Ebola is a whole lot more potent then Chicken Pox, and they don't mention anything about medications taken to help AIDS patients with Chicken Pox so.....

http://www.caregiverslibrary.org/caregi ... ticle.aspx

----------------------------

Chickenpox can be deadly for someone with AIDS, therefore it’s important to keep your loved one away from all contact with this disease.

Chickenpox can kill a person with AIDS. If the person you are caring for has already had the chickenpox, he or she probably won’t get it again. Just to be on the safe side, however:
◾Never let anybody with chickenpox in the same room as a person with AIDS, at least not until all the chickenpox sores have completely hardened over.
◾Don’t let anybody who has been exposed to chickenpox in the same room as a person with AIDS. After 3 weeks, people who have been exposed to the chickenpox can visit if they aren’t sick. Most adults have had chickenpox, but you have to be very careful about children visiting or living in the house. If you have been exposed to chickenpox and you have to help a loved one with AIDS, wear a well-fitting, surgical-type mask, wash your hands often, and avoid contact as much as possible. Tell your loved one why you’re staying away from him or her.
◾Don’t let anybody with shingles (herpes zoster) near a loved one with AIDS until all the shingles have healed over. The germ that causes shingles can also cause chickenpox. If you have shingles and must care for a person with AIDS, cover all of your sores completely and wash your hands frequently.
◾Call the doctor as soon as possible if your loved one comes into contact with someone who has chickenpox or shingles. A medicine is available that can make the chickenpox less dangerous, but it must be given very soon after the exposure to the germ.

--------------------------------------

Someone with AIDS will be completely assed out in a matter of days if they come down with full blown Ebola, regardless of what chemicals they are taking.

A student at Southwestern College who came in contact with someone on the same flight as Texas nurse Amber Vinson has been quarantined Thursday in Chula Vista, according to Anna Pryor, editor-in-chief of the college's newspaper, The Sun.

It happened just before 10 a.m. in the 440 building at the campus located in the 900 block of Otay Lakes Road.

All students and staff in class with the student and in the class following have been quarantined, Pryor said. Reportedly, about 20 students have been quarantined.

Campus police have taped off the building and are waiting on officials from the Center for Disease Control to arrive.

Amber Vinson, a nurse from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, was recently diagnosed with Ebola and was directed by the CDC to board a flight from Ohio back to Dallas. Vinson is one of the nurses who helped take care of Thomas Eric Duncan who died from Ebola on October 8th.

You guys are a bunch of pussies. This outbreak has been a great experiment to see who in society is the first to crack when bad shit happens. Unsurprisingly, the same chickenshits who love war, are also the biggest cowards. You two chicken littles should go down to your bomb shelter, where there's no WiFi, and let those of us with cooler heads discuss this rationally. Fear weakens the immune system, btw. So maybe you will be next in line to be quarantined, JBlake. Good luck masturbating to Sarah Palin moose porn while trapped inside a hermetically sealed bubble. Their starting up the propaganda machine on Ebola....

Hagan Praises CDC on Ebola

"The CDC and the World Health Organization is certainly giving us great guidance, but we've got to make sure the implementation is perfect," said the first-term senator. Hagan also declined to endorse the policy of temporarily banning passengers from entering the U.S. if they're traveling from West African countries experiencing the Ebola outbreak.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/hag ... 16347.html

You can give all the "great advice" in the world, but actions are the only things that matter. The CDC has shown that they can't even consistently follow their own "protocols".

Here's Why 'Clipboard Guy' Wasn't Wearing A Hazmat Suit While Moving The Ebola Patient

"He wasn't supposed to be wearing one, according to the group in charge of the evacuation.

He is the medical protocol supervisor, responsible for supervising everyone else involved in the process. Because the protective gear seriously limits vision, he was there to provide the eyes that other people didn't have."

If that's the case, then I wouldn't be signing up for that job. I am not so sure I believe this explanation. In these situations you have to be prepared for anything to go wrong and being TOTALLY unprotected doesn't seem to be the best option. Seems like spin to me.

Obama May Name ‘Czar’ to Oversee Ebola Response

"President Obama raised the possibility on Thursday that he might appoint an “Ebola czar” to manage the government’s response to the deadly virus as anxiety grew over the air travel of an infected nurse."

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/17/us/ob ... .html?_r=0

Let me understand this, the CDC and this administration are telling us "they got this" and there is no cause for alarm. That the situation is being over blown by the public and the media. So why do we need a Ebola Czar? Isn't it the CDC's job to handle such matters? Does this mean those heading up the CDC aren't competent to do the job? Does the government have information that indicate that this could blossom into a bigger problem that it needs a "Czar"? Doesn't seem to me those saying they have this under control actually believe themselves.

Obama administration failed to implement all of the CDC’s advice to prevent an Ebola outbreak

Added only 5 of 18 global health centers recommended

The Centers for Disease Control told the incoming Obama administration in 2008 that it should establish 18 regional disease detection centers around the world to adequately safeguard the U.S. from emerging health threats like Ebola, according to an agency memo.

But six years later, as the government struggles to contain the fallout from a deadly Ebola outbreak at home and abroad, the CDC still has only 10 centers — and none of them operates in the western Africa region hardest hit by the deadly virus.
