TOP TEN LYRICS THAT I ENJOY

10. “He who made kittens put snakes in the grass”
(Jethro Tull Bungle in the Jungle)

Comments: I enjoy this because it is clever. GOD or Mother Nature, ummm I guess it would be Father Nature in this case made both little cute harmless kittens and dangerous snakes.

9. “And all this science I don't understand, It's just my job five days a week”
(Elton John Rocket Man)

Comments: I enjoy this because this astronaut doesn’t know what he is doing, but it is just his job. What the hell? He sounds like Howard Wolowitz from Big Bang Theory.

8. “Woke last night to the sound of thunder, how far off I sat and wondered”
(Bob Seger Night Moves)

Comments: I can relate to waking up in the middle of the night to thunder and wondering how far away it is.

7. “Some balls are held for charity, and some for fancy dress, but when they’re held for pleasure, they’re the balls I like best”
(AC/DC Big Balls)

Comments: The double entendre is very clever.

6. “You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave”
(Eagles Hotel California)

Comments: This is another clever lyric.

5. “Stood alone on a mountain top, starin’ out at the Great Divide, I could go east, I could go west, It was all up to me to decide”
(Bob Seger Roll Me Away)

Comments: This gives me a sense of freedom and self-empowerment.

4. “There's two paths you can go by, but in the long run there's always time to change the road you're on”
(Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven)

Comments: I guess the best lyrics have some kind of decision to be made.

3. “If you decide not to choose, you still have made a choice”
(Rush Freewill)

Comments: And then this one tells you that not deciding is still a choice.

2. “Two hearts born to run”
(Journey Who’s Cryin’ Now)

Comments: Correct me if I am wrong. Isn’t it called a musical run how Perry sings the word run in this lyric? It is very clever how they did this. If this is not true, then I have “Made of silver, not of clay” from Wheel in the Sky as a replacement.

1. “There’s no back door to heaven, Just a front door to hell”
(Ronnie James Dio Lock Up The Wolves)

Comments: I don’t know what Dio meant by this, but to me it sounds like Islamic Terrorists believe they can murder innocent people and go to heaven through a back door, but there’s only a front door to hell for them.

Interesting. Cool list. I'd have to think through the hundreds I'd like. Right now, the song I have on at the moment, is by Theory of a Deadman. And he uses the phrase: supercali-pessimistic-expiali-narcissistic. Very clever, in my opinion.

If I find time I'll put together a list. Busy weekend though.
