You have got to be kidding me, you are bitching that a higher wage earner paying more taxes yet rail about the richer who pay most all of the taxes. WTF? The first $12 grand is income tax free, $24 grand if married jointly. Let's say a 10% rate, a $9 a hour dude nets $8.10, a $15 an hour dude nets $13.50 what the fuck is wrong with this, and with your math skills? At 40 hours a week the $15 an hour dude nets $540. The $9 an hour dude nets $324. Those numbers and after the first $12/$24k tax free. And you have a problem with this? Wow!

I have an issue with it because of the peripheral stuff surrounding it. How is an employee that started 2 years ago, and making $16.00/hr, started at say...$12/hr going to feel that someone walking in the door is making almost what they are making?

So after the backlash, companies will adjust...and wages will go up for existing employees, and Washington gets MORE taxes.

Oh stop that. That's a silly arguememt. Anyone would be perfectly happy to pay 20 cents to get a dollar. Over 90% of taxpayers are going to see a decrease.

Reagan took care of the major personal tax reform but the corporate tax was still way uncompetitive. So this corrected much of that. Helps US companies compete.

So this is, again, a tax break for the CORPORATIONS, and a virtual windfall for the IRS, if more businesses follow suit with the $15/hr minimum wage increase. Which, I have to believe they got a pulse of before they even put this bill together.

Plus, if you raise the minimum wage to $15/hr you have to adjust everyone elses wage to make things equitable - meaning MORE taxes for the IRS. What a scam.

So which is it? A windfall for the IRS, or adding to the debt?

Speaking of the tax reform bill, Pelosi was quoted as saying the following:

Pelosi: GOP Tax Bill Morally Obscene, ‘Theft’ – ‘Does Violence to the Vision of Our Founders

First of all, I doubt the founder's "vision" for this country would have been to institute a personal income tax. They certainly didn't enact it. Something tells me that if they were still alive today, the majority of them would have been against it.

I agree. If there was shady shit going on...the perps should be held accountable. And I TRULY mean that. But how is this different from what happened to John Kerry, with the Swift Boat crap? I know the specific details are different, obviously...but the running theme was, and is, trying to get dirt on your opponent so they lose an election.

If the FBI took the swift boat research and said ok, if Kerry wins, we will use this to derail his presidency - then it would be the same.

One other thing, a rumor is going around from a former FBI staffer that agents are ready to blow the whistle on things related to the Mueller investigation. This reminds me of the rumor that went around when the Clinton email server investigation was happening. It was rumored that several agents were going to either blow the whistle on issues or "walk off the job". We all know how that one ended up. Crickets.

Sure thing Ed. Bannon's an interesting guy. Maybe slightly full of himself. To me, he's always sounded more like Bernie Sanders than David Duke. But the media has whipped everybody up into thinking this guy is Hitler.

They began hounding Jeff Sessions and demanding he appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate all of these Clinton crimes.

The major point here is that Congress shouldn't have had to pressure Sessions at all on this. That in itself is disturbing. Let's hope that he isn't just going to "go through the motions" to appease them.

Democrats flipped out.

On this subject, you know your on the right track when Democrats and\or the Clintons themselves "flip out".

I know this won't be surprising to some.

Liberals Love Trump’s Tax Plan When They Think It’s Bernie’s

Horowitz first asks people what they think of Trump’s tax plan and they all have something negative to say about the bill.

After getting a feel for the public’s views on Trump’s bill, Horowitz introduces “Bernie’s competing plan,” which is actually the GOP plan.

When given the facts about the “Bernie” tax plan, such as a majority of families of four not having to pay any taxes at all, doubling the child tax credit from $1,000 to $2,000, lowering corporate taxes and keeping the Obama-era tax credits for clean energy, every single interviewee responded positively.

Anything that says "Bernie" or Hilary or Obama will be trashed by a great many Republicans without even hearing what the details are. This shows the same thing, the other way around. Our country is so polarized and people have no idea what their own party is doing, much less the opposition. We get the government we choose.

Lionel has a great discussion with Charles Ortel about where things are with Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation being investigated. I have talked and posted links to Charles Ortel's work on this subject. Not sure if anyone here has ever bothered to look at his research. I think this is well worth a watch.

more RussiaGate falling apart......

Wife Of Fusion GPS Founder Admits Her Husband Was Behind Fake "RussiaGate" Story

A Tablet investigation using public sources to trace the evolution of the now-famous dossier suggests that central elements of the Russiagate scandal emerged not from the British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s top-secret “sources” in the Russian government—which are unlikely to exist separate from Russian government control—but from a series of stories that Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson and his wife Mary Jacoby co-wrote for TheWall Street Journal well before Fusion GPS existed, and Donald Trump was simply another loud-mouthed Manhattan real estate millionaire. Understanding the origins of the “Steele dossier” is especially important because of what it tells us about the nature and the workings of what its supporters would hopefully describe as an ongoing campaign to remove the elected president of the United States.

In a Facebook post from June 24, 2017, that Tablet has seen in screenshots, Jacoby claimed that her husband deserves the lion’s share of credit for Russiagate. (She has not replied to repeated requests for comment.)

“It’s come to my attention that some people still don’t realize what Glenn’s role was in exposing Putin’s control of Donald Trump,” Jacoby wrote. “Let’s be clear. Glenn conducted the investigation. Glenn hired Chris Steele. Chris Steele worked for Glenn.”

This assertion is hardly a simple assertion of family pride; it goes directly to the nature of what became known as the “Steele dossier,” on which the Russiagate narrative is founded.
