Biggest Hits + Deeper Cuts

For the "Farewell Tour," Journey is promising to do the biggest hits and five deeper cuts. What are the biggest hits? I figure that must mean their songs that made the Top 10 on the Billboard Charts. Open Arms reached number 2. Who's Cryin' Now reached number 4. Separate Ways reached number 8. Be Good To Yourself, Only The Young, and Don't Stop Believ'n reached number 9.
So, take these six songs and add five deeper cuts (whatever they are) and you get a really short concert. Maybe Neal is planning to stretch all these songs out to ten-minute jams or something. I don't know.

I must have missed this. Who said it's just five deeper cuts?

I'd assume Dirty Dozen + 5...

They could play Infinity, Evolution and Departure in their entirety and I'd be happy. No way a vocalist could handle that, but it would be awesome.

Well, I think what he is referring to is the article in the "Announcement" thread. It said, "the tour will feature a new stage production and a career-spanning setlist packed with the band's biggest hits, along with a handful of deeper cuts for longtime fans"

So, I kind of agree with him...but not as specific. To me it sounds like the same talk as the anniversary tour that was just the Greatest Hits + a few "deep cuts" or Freedom songs each night. But, whatever, there is no way I am going to spend money on this tour.

To me, it feels like "Journey" ended a long time ago and it's been "Neal Schon's Journey" from around Eclipse on. Journey is much more than one person to me...It doesn't matter if that "one person" is Steve Perry or Neal Schon. ROR, or Eclipse/Freedom. Journey is a band, as Herbie intended, not one person and a bunch of followers.

Yea, that's what a Blabbermouth writer wrote, but as far as we know, they're uninformed...

The official press release said "we’re pulling out all the stops with a brand-new production — the hits, the deep cuts, the energy, the spectacle."

Neal also said it will be two full sets plus an intermission.

I'm sure this will change (much like the 3 hour Generations 30th anniversary tour did), but we'll see....

I'm in no hurry.

In hindsight, it's very apparent that Azoff was a bulwark holding back craziness and dysfunctionality. It gave the illusion of a professional band. Aside from booking tours and selling T-shirts, there's not much going on here. I'm pretty sure they are locked out of their own official Twitter page. Amateur hour.
