Not sure if this interview has been posted here before, but here it is:

I think SP answered it right there at the end of Part 2..."bands change, bands gotta change..."

Interesting how they discussed the "other members." Kind of in a bullshit way.

I like Perry a little smashed. He comes across much better with some in him. Look at Friga. He is smiling! And Neal. What guy doesn't want to be Neal fucking Schon?

I just watched this interview this morning while I was going through some tapes. The funniest part is at the end when they're getting ready to leave and Neal starts singing BGTY, Steve and Jon join in and they walk out singing it drunkenly.

I don't like this interview at all. I think SP acts like a fag the way he brushes his hair back and holds his wine glass, and the guys seem to be a little tense at times, as if they didn't want each other answering for them.

And the stupid talk about being 'raised....on radio' is just plain dumb.

Sorry guys, you know I love 'em, but just not this interview. :?

Hey Donna- Steve did ramble on a bit but I think they focused so much on radio because at the time, MTV was making such a huge impact with videos. People always expected to see this visual "story-line" video accompany a newly released single back in the day....

I know Robyn. I do agree with what they were saying about the radio (BEFORE the advent of music videos) allowed each listener to form their own ideas about the meaning of a song, instead of watching a video and remembering those images and tying them infinitely to the song.

IMO, Journey should have made all their videos from live concert footage...those are by far the best. They had some really dumb videos. The one that still makes me laugh is 'After the Fall'. The part I love is where they're in that white room sitting around the table, and they all get up and are fussing at SP, and Ross has the cigarette, and then he just flicks it up against the wall. WTF!!!! Who would do that inside? It's f*cking hilarious!!! 8)

Oh yes, remember that one well! Vividly recall the day it was a "World-wide Premiere" on MTV....the flying somersaults in the air outside the window of the white insane asylum room Steve's sitting in by himself after they finish fussing at him  .

Ya know?, those guys aren't good enough actors for the feeling that you can see in that pic to be fake. They also couldn't have faked the comfort and camaraderie between them in that Hard Rock interview, or the uncut satellite interviews. When Journey and Perry separated they broke a lot more than just a business agreement or a stone. It's sad. :(
