Hey Donna- Steve did ramble on a bit but I think they focused so much on radio because at the time, MTV was making such a huge impact with videos. People always expected to see this visual "story-line" video accompany a newly released single back in the day....

I know Robyn. I do agree with what they were saying about the radio (BEFORE the advent of music videos) allowed each listener to form their own ideas about the meaning of a song, instead of watching a video and remembering those images and tying them infinitely to the song.
IMO, Journey should have made all their videos from live concert footage...those are by far the best. They had some really dumb videos. The one that still makes me laugh is 'After the Fall'. The part I love is where they're in that white room sitting around the table, and they all get up and are fussing at SP, and Ross has the cigarette, and then he just flicks it up against the wall. WTF!!!! Who would do that inside? It's f*cking hilarious!!!
