Yes, I'd agree with that, Dave.

I don't think it's much of a question as for what is "better". I believe Boston's debut album is actually the greatest selling debut album in the history of music. At least that's what they said the other night on the news, when running the Delp story. I tried confirming this somewhere on the net, but couldn't seem to come up with it. My hunch is that Alanis Morrisette's "Jagged Little Pill" might have passed it. I thought I heard that was pretty up there for debut releases.

KCfla wrote:"Hootie & The Blowfish’s “Cracked Rear View” advances to 16 million and is now tied with Boston’s self-titled album as the best-selling debut album of all time by a group. Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill,” which is also at 16 million, remains the best-selling U.S. debut by a solo artist. (Morissette previously released two albums in her native Canada.)"
As taken off the RIAA site.
I don't know how "up-to-date" this info is. But that's what's posted there.

*edit* I went and looked again- March 1999. So while it's old, it still pertains to those albums mention by all of you above.
( Hell, nothing sells like that anymore!)
And as "un-PC" this may be- JoePA is right-
The Boston catalog is going to get a shot in the arm because of this. Just saying.......![]()
Not that it's right- it just is......

Hootie and the Blowjobs held that title for a bit. Boston will certainly get a bump with Brad's death, though. Regardless, Boston's is the best.

Hey fuck off. Go back and try READING. Some yahoo was rambling and brought up Steve Perry. THAT's when it all started.
