That would be interesting indeedly!

This time of year always brings my memory back to my Uncle Specky.
The man was an early learner and surpassed his high school requirements by the age of 16.
Off to war his backside went and while in #2 his life changed.....he never returned the same.
Bless-ed be his soul for what he saw and lived through, from my families reply on it he
didn't even resemble the man he was when he left.

Well two stories that I will never forget. These are not undercover stories but wild to say the least. WARNING THESE ARE GROSS:

He was called to the scene of a suicide. A colonel killed himself because he found out his wife was messing around. He had locked himself in the basement and shot himself in the head with a sawed off shotgun. His lower jaw was still there but everything else above that was gone. My dad's crew had to scoop up brains with a snow shovel. The worst part was the daughter found the body.

Another suicide where a fighter pilot climbed into the cockpit and locked the canopy shut. He hit the eject button. Needless to say, that was a messy one too.

Was the fighter pilot one in N. Carolina? My father was in the Air Force 25 years & that exact scenario took place when he was stationed there.

YOU PEOPLE ARE THE GREATEST!

To be honest w/ you, these days blend into one and its
so easy to lose track of the date... I really had no idea
that Veteran's Day came to pass...

But HEY, I am not a Veteran! I'm still an active participant in this nightmare
Thank me in another 10 years or so.

I know Dean and Stu have served; are there any other Vets in here?

You folks are simply the best!
I can't thank you all enough for the support and laughs you give me.
I've gotten great packages from some of you and haven't gotten around
to thanking everyone indiviually; sorry about that!
But recently I have recieved the following:

BLONDIE: She DEFINITELY answered the "Oreo Call" and the folks loved them! Thank you!

MARY LOU: Got your box of snax too! And to think a Bengals fan would STILL send a
Steelers fan like me a package after that game 2 weeks ago? Total Class and TOTALLY appreciated.

DEBBIE: Girl, you have a way of making LOVE you and HATE you all at once! Sending me
a SUPER JSS sampler and all those lovely pix of you and the Band together... Again, so Jealous!

MARIA: HOLY SMOKES!!! I STILL have not been able to listen to all the CDs you sent! but the Sixx book
(The Heroin Diaries) was KILLER, LOVED what he signed in it for me and was VERY DELIGHTED with the WR.Com T-Shirt!!!
Not too mention the snacks...

Again, I get so overwhelmed just thinking of the friendships and support I have found on this little message board.
Time is going by pretty quick... Hell, its already mid-November, I got over 90 days behind me and probably
less than 60 to go... And things have been going well. Wish I had some cool stories to tell but things have
gone so smoothly here at work and at my base that everyday is kinda the same; The "Ground Hog Day" effect.

This may be a dumb question but since I don't know anything about jets...

Isn't there some mechanism to keep the ejection from happening if the cockpit isn't open?

I'm not sure, but the one that took place where my dad was stationed was quite a while ago & it was an F-4, which I don't think they even fly anymore. Big, LOUD jet.

On a side note for anyone who loves jets, my dad just saw that new F-22 do a demo at Canaveral here recently, he said that thing amazing.
