Forgot ALL ABOUT friggin' Meat Loaf. All Meat Loaf songs seem to be the ultimate epic tune....

Bat Out Of Hell
The Monster is Loose
I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)

All prime tunes...

BAT OUT OF HELL gets my vote as well. In fact, most all of Meat's epics are pretty cool (I really ig FOR CRYING OUT LOUD and OBJECTS IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR, to name two.)

I'd probably put COME SAIL AWAY on that list, and a little known tune by NEW ENGLAND called NOTHING TO FEAR. You should dig them up, Prog. I bet you'd like em...

Liar. You listened to me say the same shit over and over in Vegas while I was in a drunken stupor. You just felt sorry for me, huh?

Hahaha. "DID YOU KNOW I'M SAINT JOHN?" "YOU WON'T BAN ME RIGHT?"

Where's that Picard facepalm again...

I too nominate those songs as being all time great ones! Love the intensity Dio brings and Blackmore's playing is just nuts on this CD. 8)

So many great songs were already mentioned here. I'm impressed at some of the pulls you guys posted. I'm even more impressed you had the time to list 'em! lol...

Rather than go into repetitive posting, I'm opting to toss one out that's more obscure, but pretty epic. In fact, most of their songs are. ProgRocker should really appreciate these guys as they're considered progressive rock:

Yeah, I think any Rainbow with Joe Lynn Turner would go over big with the Journey crowd.

This song completey BLOWS MY MIND.

Nothing is comparable to a song that just makes you want to get up in the morning like this one, the overall layout of this song is soooo complicated i cant even explain. i am listening to it right now, and my face has completely gone numb from the result of "face melting guitar riffs" and "ear popping drum solos"!!!!!!!

this one truley, madly, deeply, tops them all!!!!!

Where's Larry to post a link?

Here, I'll do it. Now it's getting to where I have to do everything around here.

Yep, have it. Now, who wants to bring Magnum stateside for one show? Yet another in the long line of great bands that never make it over here....

JrnyScarab wrote:"Stranger in Your Soul" from Transatlantic's "Bridge Across Forever CD". 30 minutes of brilliance.

In case you don't know them, it's Mike Portnoy of "Dream Theater" on Drums, Neal Morse from "Spock's Beard" on keys & guitar, Roine Stolt from "The Flower Kings" on guitar and Pete Trewavas from "Marillion" on bass.

Great progressive stuff.

Dual With The Devil and the above Mentioned Stranger In Your Soul are the two that stand out above all. They should be required listening for anyone that wants to coin the phrase 'Epic Song'.

Saga & Coney Hatch - Oh Canada! I loved Coney Hatch. When I saw April Wine a couple of years ago, Carl Dixon did a solo acoustic set to open for them - very talented & nice guy (I think he also played with April Wine during their set). Now I'm off to search for a Coney Hatch You-Tube
