I get to hear Neal and Deen sing lead. If I couldn't listen to Steve Perry singing Journey's catalogue,
I would want to hear Deen rather than any other singer they've had, past or present - his voice is
beautiful!
Reviews on Z Generations have been very mixed. From loving (like me) to hating it. I thought Augeri did an awesome job on this cd, as did the rest of the band. Production lacked in spots (to the regular Journey standards), but by no means was production poor or average. Just when compared to other Journey cds, is production down, but not near as bad as RED 13.
Deen is a great singer and would have liked for him to have at least one song on this past new cd. But for me, all the singers have done good for the band. Would have liked a JSS vocal Journey cd, but on well, it didn't happen.
Perry, if he comes back or not, will have always have a place in Journey's history, as the voice that changed music.
