I was hopeful that his solo cds would be good after van halen, but always found them weak, occasionally a song here or there but for the most part just boring/average. His stuff with van halen is so much better, i guess theres something to be said for chemistry between bandmates.

Agreed. pre VH Sammy would come up with some catchy stuff. Can't drive 55, There's Only One Way To Rock, Baby Its You, I'll Fall In Love Again.
Back then Sammy wanted to chart so he made sure his tunes had hooks and appeal to everyone. Since becoming uber rich, he's got the garage band at a kegger mentality.
CHICKENFOOT CANCELS MORE SHOWS
7/7/2009
Chickenfoot has been forced to cancel two more shows on its current European tour, according to Blabbermouth.net. The scrapped gigs were scheduled for Tuesday (July 7th) in Hamburg, Germany and Wednesday (July 8th) in Copenhagen, Denmark. The cancellations are the result of drummer Chad Smith aggravating an old injury in his arm at a concert last week in Paris, leading the group to first call off a show in Madrid. An MRI later showed that Smith also tore several tendons in his shoulder and biceps. Smith is now reportedly going to London for treatment by specialists.
There is no word yet on whether any of the group's other upcoming shows will be scrapped. Their next scheduled date is Friday (July 10th) in Sweden.
A North American tour is slated to begin on August 2nd in Nova Scotia.
Chickenfoot, which includes former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony in addition to guitarist Joe Satriani and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Smith, released their self-titled debut disc in June. It has sold more than 200,000 copies since its arrival.
