Eh. Nothing special that I can pick up from what I heard. They better be giving those tickets away unless the go heavy on the VanHagar material.

I was hopeful that his solo cds would be good after van halen, but always found them weak, occasionally a song here or there but for the most part just boring/average. His stuff with van halen is so much better, i guess theres something to be said for chemistry between bandmates.

I saw on the Chickenfoot tour schedule that they will be playing at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for a free concert on Saturday, August 15. However, when I went to the RRHOF website, there is no mention of it. Does anyone know anything about this gig? Is it for a special occasion, or just a free show? I wonder why they don't show it on the RRHOF website?

i would have to agree, that since sammy left vh with the exception of MTM and 10/13 his stuff has been spotty
and i can see why some of the vh people dont get this cd, but i think it has a great grove, although i think for this to go any further, they need to have an a&r rep guide them, instead of just recording 12 songs and putting them out, in this day of not have labels, it also means nor rep pushing for singles, so band record what they want and put it out with little or no response from public or reps.
i dont think they need to go more pop just more hooks.

Agreed. pre VH Sammy would come up with some catchy stuff. Can't drive 55, There's Only One Way To Rock, Baby Its You, I'll Fall In Love Again.

Back then Sammy wanted to chart so he made sure his tunes had hooks and appeal to everyone. Since becoming uber rich, he's got the garage band at a kegger mentality.

I think both of these albums are very strong:

Yeah... like Michael Jackson, he's going back to re-live the childhood he missed out on as a young rock star. Just think of all those keggar parties he missed out on!

CHICKENFOOT CANCELS MORE SHOWS

7/7/2009

Chickenfoot has been forced to cancel two more shows on its current European tour, according to Blabbermouth.net. The scrapped gigs were scheduled for Tuesday (July 7th) in Hamburg, Germany and Wednesday (July 8th) in Copenhagen, Denmark. The cancellations are the result of drummer Chad Smith aggravating an old injury in his arm at a concert last week in Paris, leading the group to first call off a show in Madrid. An MRI later showed that Smith also tore several tendons in his shoulder and biceps. Smith is now reportedly going to London for treatment by specialists.

There is no word yet on whether any of the group's other upcoming shows will be scrapped. Their next scheduled date is Friday (July 10th) in Sweden.

A North American tour is slated to begin on August 2nd in Nova Scotia.

Chickenfoot, which includes former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony in addition to guitarist Joe Satriani and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Smith, released their self-titled debut disc in June. It has sold more than 200,000 copies since its arrival.
