They hadn't released anything new or toured in two years, so they, as a band, weren't relevant on top 10 radio at that particular moment. They were all still dipping their hands into their solo material (Street Talk was simmering down at this point, Neal was doing various side projects and Vital Information was just starting to take off). I would also imagine that this was the time when the shit started to hit the fan regarding the lineup changes. Maybe they just weren't a willingly functional band at the time?

Relevancy doesn't really mean anything in a situation like Live Aid, which by the way was and is a GREAT cause. Bob Geldof was never really "relevant" and Paul McCartney had nothing out new did he?

I think Journey would have tore that place up to be honest.

Yes it is a great cause and yes they would have tore it up. But you can't compare Journey to McCartney. He's a Beatle. He co-wrote some of the most famous songs in rock history. So he's always relevant. Especially in London (where he played that day).

Really? They never came across to me at least of wanting to join up for a Cause, be it whatever.

As far as the US festivals my guess is Journey didnt need to share the stage with other bands to draw 100,000 fans, they could draw 80-90,000 fans by themselves...they did it at JFK stadium.

The single most ridiculous post I have read this month. You don't think U2 was playing stadiums too? Or Queen? or Paul Fucking McCartney? They all play as big if not bigger venues and they were all there.

Rock, I dont appreciate your insanely rude comment, that is no need for that at all. I said it was MY GUESS thats why they didnt play. I forgot U2 played. You dont have to attack someone's comment and tear it apart. Thats the main problem with this thread, people have no respect for other's input at all, if they dont agree with it, they tear it apart and made really rude responses. Really unecessary!

Even though i dont agree with most of the things you say, i dont attack and tear apart the things you write.
