In his own words:

anyway, the dealbreaker was my relationship with my wife and my family. i was told after a band meeting to arrive
on my own for a sit-down before working on some demos. i was surprised to hear that
neal was completely freaked out by my wife all week. i was told that to move forward with the band, my relationship with my wife would need to change. despite her pregnancy and the life-altering decisions that sat before us,
apparently she had been too clingy and asked too many questions during the week about an upcoming tour. apparently the breaking point for neal was during my audition for azoff’s management team. i was extremely nervous during the audition, as i had been told by people in the band that the management team was initially very much against me. i was told i would have to give them “a jeremey facial” (exact quote) and just bring the same level of energy and personality from my performances with Frontiers to the audition process. with john baruck and irving azoff sitting literally inches from my face in this empty warehouse, it was a pretty daunting performance. i was wired, and it showed in my performance.
after about the 3rd song, i was able to focus on my wife and get my breathing under control and calm down a bit.
sabrina looked concerned, and a couple of times made a few hand motions, like “tone it down a bit.” not a big deal, she is a calming influence to me, and i was lucky to have her to focus on for the remainder of the audition.

It was Jeremey's decision to blame his failure on his wife just as it was his decision to don wigs and tails and become a Perry impersonator. He has no one to blame for his plight but himself.
He isn't blaming anyone for anything.
You are. And you're looking like a royal ass in doing it.
