I'm a bit too old to be chasing my childhood bands around to concerts. I'm one of the suckers who actually paid retail for the cd (one of 10 sales they had). The production was DREADFUL, and so were most of the tracks. I believe there was one song worth anything on the cd. The rest of it was beyond forgettable!

I bet you the guy in your AV could sing better than the guy on that CD.... :P

I paid 3.99. That's 5.99 more than I should have paid.

The last John Mayer album. Actually never been a fan of his, but thought I'd strike out a little bit for the rush. The rush to fall asleep.... Traded it the next day.

If you're including records I bought for other people as well...

Before I knew his taste in music, I got a Smiths- and Psych Furs- fan friend of mine "Dancing on the Ceiling".

I also saved up my allowance to buy TWO Shaun Cassidey albums for this nine year old I had a crush on (I was eight at the time, so don't go there).
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

You sure it's not Leif Garrett?
I can't really tell between those two. Hell, even Peter Frampton's career went to the dump at one point because of his association with the teenie bopper crowd of the 70's. It's a shame cause he is pure talent and I read somewhere too that Rolling Stone did him in with that infamous bare chested cover...

Pokemon-The first movie

It had a few standout songs.
It was you - Ashley Ballsrd with So Plush
Brother, my brother - Blessed union of souls
The other 14 songs weren't to hot. Don't say you love (M2M) and Somewhere, someday (Nsync) were passable but the other dozen tracks were very weak.

I had seen Motley Crue perform on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno one evening. They did one of the tunes from the Generation Swine album and I through that it had a nice sound to it so I went out to and got the album, and for a moment there, I thought that some of that 80's rock was coming back. So I rushed out and purchased it when it was released. After actually getting it and listening to the entire album, during one of my drives to LA in the middle of the night, I was very disappointed to say the least. Don't think I ever even played it ever again. I ended up cashing it in for store credit at Amoeba records shortly after.

what do you think of the new motley crue released recently?

I didn't know they had a new release. I'll check it out. Thanks.

Tons! Recently, the new Asia album. The new Royal Hunt album. The Ian Hunter album from last year. The two Michael Bolton CDs I bought a long time ago. I can't listen to him at all now. Royal Hunt don't seem to have any songs, just riffs and licks from neo classical people like Yngwie. At least Yngwie has real songs...although people like to slam him and say he just solos all over the place...yeah he does but there are good songs. Asia has zero energy and it's zombie music, other than a couple of songs.

Alex Masi, Attack of the Neon Shark.

There was only one good song on the album. Under Fire. Damn fine vocalist on that one song though!

That was back in the days before iTunes so I was stuck!

+1,000,000 on this one. I simply do not understand why artists feel they need to redo their own shite. It doesn't make any sense.

This album was simply the worst piece of crap I've ever had the displeasure of listening to this side of Dead 13 (which also tops my list of other completely shite releases)....

Bon Jovi rarely releases something that isn't at least worthy in some way shape or fassion....but this one was a complete and utter waste of everything ever connected with it.

I agree, Frank. This is why I'm still baffled why Journey chose to re-do their "Greatest Hits" with their last release! If it's not broke...don't fix it!

It's not even a case of not broke...which I agree with. It's a case of why try to recreate magic? You're destined to fail. I mean shit. Livin on a prayer is one of the best songs ever recorded by a band in the late 80s. Why Bon Jovi has tried to rerecord it 3 times, with dismal results, is beyond me. They should have learned in 94 (when they redid LOAP for the crossroads compilation) that trying to reinvent the wheel is a mistake.

I still think the retreads on Evolution are an embarassment. I love the 'live' feel of be good to yourself on the retread disc....but other than that one aspect, the rest of the disc is complete and utter shite. It should have never been done...and all it has done is carve in stone Arnel's inferiority to Steve Perry....a very unwise move by them. Pinoy pimps and apologists can argue left and right about their assumption that Perry can't sing this material anymore and another assumption that arnel today is better than Perry today...

However, the fact remains that by rerecording these songs for revelation, they've carved in stone a direct comparison between arnel today and perry of yesterday.....and that's like bringing an exacto knife to a 50 caliber machine gun fight...

Brilliant line, dude, and I couldn't agree more. I think Arnel is a very talented vocalist, but holding the guy up to Perry is an impossible standard to live up to. I also agree with your comments about some of the yahoos saying "Hey Arnel is better today than Perry is today". Who gives a fuck! David Ortiz is better than Ted Williams today, because Williams is dead, and Ortiz is still playing. That doesn't mean that Ortiz is one half the ball player that Williams was. As I've said before, I don't care if Perry's career was 10 minutes...It was the best 10 minutes my ears have ever heard! As long as the A.A.R.P. Band keeps on keeping on, the comparisons will never end. The bottom line for me is that the imitators will NEVER be half as good as the original!

Haven't heard a lot of those - but Phoenix? I thought that was a great album. Contender for album of the year right now for me. I thought Wetton & Co returned pretty gloriously to the old sound.

GENERATIONS, The Cars Panorama, The album Billy Squire made after 'Dont Say No' & Peter Frampton - I'm In You.

Two huge musical disappointments.

The real question is, does Journey regret making this VERY VERY poor CD.

Did you guys get The Clash over there in the 80's/90's? Wealthy sons of Dilomats etc pretending to be lower working class lads.

They were pretty huge over here, and I remember loads of people saying to me, 'Oh you really should get some of their stuff, they're fantastic' etc etc.
So, I spent some hard earned cash on the album which was out at that time, it was called "Give 'em enough rope" and my God what a dreadful pile of wombat's do's THAT was. I binned it imediately. Well, after I'd cried for wasting what little money I had on the bloody thing.

I never did get into that band except for "Rock The Casbah."

And I still resent wasting my money on that load of old tosh.
IMO Clash should have been renamed Trash.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to mention this one. While you could make a legit case that it isn't Def Leppard, I think it is where the BAND is, and there is some really good stuff on it. Problem is that very few of their audience chose to follow them, so they are stuck doing music that they don't really want to do, but it is what sells. To me, Slang has a lot more life in it than some of their other more recent (post-Hysteria) material. I think it would have sold rather well if it didn't have Def Leppard plastered all over it.

It made a good live DVD, one which I actually watch a couple times a year, but I am not given to buying acoustic studio albums, no way.
