If you take the most basic point from Dean's post, it's not that bad. Those babies don't deserve to have a bad life just because they had the bad fortune of spawning from this nutjob's undoubtedly flap-jack loose and smelly womb.
I WOULD not like seeing more cases like this spring up around the country, however, with more nutjobs hoping for fame and handouts. So I think something needs to be done to make sure she and other potential copycats reap no personal rewards/leisure from whatever "help" they get. Honestly, you should get those kids out of there. But that's a tale for another time.
Angelina Jolie herself is said to be ''totally creeped out'' by Nadya Suleman
Apparently, over the past year or so, Suleman has made attempts to reach out the the actress -- sending her admiring letters and extolling her talent and humanitarian efforts on behalf of children's issues around the world.

Deano's point was that, up until a multiple birth threatens the sovereign credit rating of the largest state in the U.S. and the world's eighth largest economy, we taxpayers should feel ashamed of ourselves for bringing up the obvious welfare burden that such a decision will leave us with. Nonsense. What's the real difference between this woman and the somewhat-famous Dugger family, now with 18 kids? The difference is: they're not knocking on my door and demanding an obligatory welfare handout. When someone makes a claim on my tax money, then it becomes my business. If someone doesn't want me judging their life and their choices, it's easy -- don't become a ward of the state through one's stupid decisions. (And this woman's decisions were very, very stupid.)
It's a cop-out (and muddleheaded thinking) to blame "the system" for an individual's irresponsibly stupid decisions. Yes, political and economic systems can incentivize and disincentivize decisions on the margin, but ultimately each individual must take responsibility for his or her own actions. And if we are to "blame the system", then the change to the system should be: if you have in vitro fertilization, then you absolve the state (and taxpayers) of any and all taxpayer-funded support (WIC, food stamps, subsidized school lunches, free health care, Section 8 housing, etc. ad nauseum) from the age of 0 to 18 for all the children.

Yesterday on a t.v. show I saw Joan Rivers and she had the exact same plastic surgery mouth as the Octuplet mom! I heard that most women going for mouth plastic surgery come in with a pic of Angelina Jolie. Sick, very sick! At least, when Hollywood makes a movie about this they can hire Angelina and her brood to play the parts.

Nadya's plan all along.
I know you're joking and its a stretch but its obvious they influenced this nutcase. They bragged how they want a football team, well here's their chance. Jolie-Pitt can provide a foundation home for the 8 .
They can afford it and they don't have to be there. Just write the checks. On the condition that Suleman gets sterilized of course.

Octo-pop
A former partner of the US woman who gave birth to octuplets in Los Angeles last month has said he could be their father, and that of their six siblings.
Denis Beaudoin told ABC News that he had donated sperm to his former girlfriend Nadya Suleman three times.
He has requested DNA paternity testing but said he would help Ms Suleman raise the children whatever the results.
ABC said Ms Suleman had denied Mr Beaudoin was the father but had agreed to paternity tests being carried out.
Mr Beaudoin told ABC's Good Morning America that Ms Suleman had asked him to donate sperm as she had ovarian cancer and was unable to have children.
He said he thought her request was "out of the ordinary" but that he had agreed as he "cared about her so much".
Mr Beaudoin said he was "shocked and surprised" when he heard that Ms Suleman had given birth on 26 January and that he did not believe her denials that he was the father.
"It just seems like a lot of her statements that she's made have been really inaccurate," he said.
"She initially told me the whole reason for donating sperm in the first place was to get pregnant, because she was not going to be able to have kids. And it has turned into this."
Questions raised
The birth of the eight healthy babies, nine weeks premature, was initially hailed as a medical marvel around the world.
But the public and media attitude changed after it emerged that Ms Suleman was already a mother of six, living in her parents' small home and receiving state aid.
Her use of IVF to give birth to all 14 children was also criticised by fertility experts, who questioned whether medical guidelines were met when the embryos were implanted on the last occasion.
Ms Suleman told the US media earlier this month that she wanted a big family to make up for feeling lonely as a child.
"All I wanted was children. I wanted to be a mom. That's all I ever wanted in my life. I love my children," she said.
Mr Beaudoin said she had never discussed wanting to have a large family but just had "an urge to have a child because she was not able to".
However, he said that whether or not the tests proved he was the father, he would "lend a helping hand," if Ms Suleman said she needed it.
"It's hard nowadays to raise two kids, let alone 14," he said.
