Everyone loves an underdog/Cinderella story. You rarely see these shows (which are meant to find talent in the common folk) do what they set out to. Sex sells and its no wonder our own American Idol has age restrictions. Show me middle-aged people on AI, show me a true cross-section of the population. Then we'll call it a talent search. There are many talented people in small towns and villages across the world, a fraction of a fraction will only ever see something made of it. I'm glad this woman got her opportunity. That took guts.

Exactly, this chick will have fans that like her purely for the sound of her voice. Look at Paul Potts, the guy looked like a fucking wreck. Now he has a number one album in over a dozen countries because he was given the opportunity based on his talent, not his looks. Think that would fly here in the States on a show like A.I., not a chance. A lot of people are getting joy out of listening to Pott's album. It would have never happened in the states though, his ass wouldn't get past the first round.

I'd like to submit Milli Vanilli as Example A. And that chick, Martha Wash, behind the voice on C+C Music Factory that they made the other chick lipsynch to in the video as Example B.

They stated she was developmentally challenged, but she acts like "Hey I am the shit!" which I think is so FIERCE! Why should she cower? And I loved when she blew a kiss like, TAKE THAT BITCHES!!!!(well, that is what I wanted her to think when she blew the kiss)

yep,
1. she's not attractive or at least doesn't seem to make an effort
2. she's almost 50 and NOW she's trying to make it? (simon asks her)
3. bad first impression and then she tops it by making jokes
if it weren't for the voice and good song choice, they'd have booed her in 5 seconds

Lady? Are you sure it's a lady? Looks like a man with a wig to me:

From what I've seen of her, she radiates from within, so she is in fact a beautiful lady....with the voice of an angel.

I haven't seen you but you gotta watch that kind of thing because no matter what you look like on the outside , if your personality is ugly...ugly enough to degrade others... you will be viewed that way.

I was gonna say, if she cleaned up her eyebrows, and wore a little make-up, she'd be a cute ol' bird.

I do own tweezers, however.

Why? If she wants to then fine..but maybe she doesn't want to tweeze to please others.
Are you the picture of perfection? Are any of us?
I won't criticise and degrade you Deb...I doubt this lady would either.

Looks like it's not gonna happen. I was just watching an interview with Amanda Holden (one of the judges) and she does not want to change anything on Susan Boyle's appearance. Then again, she and Piers are Simon's bitches so they are gonna do whatever Simon says.
Blueskies wrote:They are right..let her be herself because the lesson is there to not judge a book by it's cover. If she wants he eyebrows natural, then she can keep them that way....she should not have to conform to others standards to "fit in" more. I like this woman as she is, just being herself...she's awesome!
