And if it was the way you make out and the guys weren't aware of it they'd be stupid.

let me call SA and apologize.

You really think you've got that much control over them?
I think you live in fantasy land sometimes.

How do you know?
As you are always stating here mantra-style, "prove it!"
If you listen to Herbie, all of the Journeymen live on skid row and eat out of garbage pails.

Wouldn't that be most peoples reaction to being betrayed by a "friend"?
But that didn't happen because the band was fully aware of what was going on.

Implicitly, that's EXACTLY what happened.
I think Neal is eccstatic to have washed his hands of the Augeri funk.

I never said that.

My quote read, "Implicitly, that's exactly what happened".
No, to be accurate, none of them were shocked and dismayed at the fact that Augeri was lip-synching. However, as u wrote, they did get rid of the singer "that pulled this on this great band with this great history" and got "a real singer who is going to rock the sock off everyone to right this."
Hope that makes more sense.

I don't think the band gives a rat's ass what the fans "think happened". As long as people are buying tickets to the show...and they are. Anything they say now has lost so much credibility because of the amount of time that has passed. You know, if you have enough time to think about what to say about something (Augeri)...you can put any kind of "spin" you want on it.

Yep...and that's a problem. If they try to go out and promote themselves, they are going to be asked about the lead singer change, why it happened, what they think of the lip-synch talk. Then they are either going to have to lie and give the "we didn't know..." bullshit that Dean was trying to pull, or they are going to have to say THEY let it happen too...Or, they'll just not answert he questions, kinda like another former lead singer.

The Confessor wrote:They knew. They HAD to know. They are as much to blame as Augeri. Making SA the "scapegoat" in this whole mess is bullshit. I'd have some respect for them if they would have just came out and told the truth, and then say "Hey, we fucked up...made a bad decision...we're moving on." The whole deal of not saying a word about it says to me "We think our fans are fucking stupid. They're buying tickets to the show...so fuck it." Whatever they say from this point on, if anything, doesn't carry much weight. They've had too much time to calculate their response.
Now...
That being said, I have been a fan of JSS for quite some time...way before he joined Journey. The guy kicks ass. He's paid his dues...and I wish him nothing but the best. By most accounts, the live show is going great...and that's cool. And if Journey makes an album with him, I really do hope it blows me away. But, I hope Jeff doesn't turn his back on his other work. It's too good to walk away from.
But...
None of that excuses what these guys did (for me, anyway). They should have come out and told the truth about what was going on right from the start. Looks like to me they pushed their so-called friend in front of a train to save their own asses...which is pretty uncool in my book.
That's just the way I see it.

In that respect, yes, they did do that.

Nobody pulled anything over on this "great band with this great history."This is a perfect example of how the expression, "Silence Is Golden," is applied.

I agree...for this tour...that is the "story".
If JSS continues with Journey AFTER this tour...how are they going to play it? Are they going to stick by the 'lie' and ignore Dean's accusations? If they try to go out and tour on their own, or headline a big tour with some other 80's band, they are going to have to answer these questions to the press.

Yeah? So?
Perry's incessant mental traumas and faked hip injuries are also only "pure conjecture" and "speculation".
That doesn't stop a good percentage of the hardcore fanbase from knowing the bitter truth:

Just because it wasn't acknowledged in a formal PR statement does not mean it didn't occur.
The White House maintains that post-invasion Afghanistan has gone swimmingly well.
Does that make it so?
Someone ought to pull the plug on your comatose ass.
