What a sad outlook. If that's the viewpoint, I hope you enjoy the heck out of your remaining time.

Deano,

I would appreciate when you are posting & making your usual rude remarks, if you would leave my name out of your post! You don't know me at all & should not be directing anything personal like that at me or anyone else here on the board for that matter.

If Perry wanted to be there, he would be.

And I think at the time, they were quite glad to get rid of him!
Still a shame all round though.

I disagree, Andrew. If Perry had stuck with the band, he would have driven it into the ground. The difference here is that he called Journey's bluff one more time, with the hip shit. And Journey called him on HIS bluff, something he didn't count on. As a result, the band had a greatly successful summer tour, allowing Perry to globe trot some more, as he lives off the fat of the land and collects some more checks. He's roaming the country having a good time, while the real members of Journey bust their keesters.

Come on...you hear us Journey fans criticize Journey sometimes. You can't honestly think that Perry looks like anything but a fat chick in that picture...can you?

Looking through a pair of rose colored glasses, one will see whatever they want to. Maybe Lori has lower standards then normal women. Maybe some here like the unhealthy, unfit look. To each her own.

Beauty's in the eye of the beholder, as they say.

He's wearing baggy pants and a big sweatshirt, and has a jacket slung over his shoulder so you can't tell much. He might be a little heavier than he was 10 yrs ago, but it doesn't hurt him at all. He's aged as a lot better than most of his contemporaries. Lovin' the hair.

As an amateur photographer, I feel somewhat qualified to comment on this. The so called bad photo doesn't appear to be caused by a bad camera angle, as some would imply. If say, you photographed Perry's face only, and you didn't know what you were doing, it would look quite distorted made even more so by the fact that Perry's nose is bigger than normal. So you would have to compensate for that. A photographer would take the necessary steps to do that. The photo in question here shows Perry with a very disheveled look, something the camera didn't cause. The hair looks as frumpy as the clothes. His body looks chunky. If he went to a photographer's studio, these things could be camouflaged. However, this photo was taken in real time, so what you see is what you get! He doesn't appear to have aged any better than anybody else.

However...let me say this again! The white sox did NOT invite JOURNEY...they invited STEVE PERRY! What does that say?

Again, HE IS THE AMBASSADOR of DSB!

It says, as I have said for over ten years, that without Journey, Steve Perry is nothing. He has no legacy outside of his time with Journey. They didn't point out "Somewhere There's Hope" or "You Better Wait" or whatever. They pointed to a Journey song...and, as always, Perry has to latch on to JOURNEY's legacy to prop HIMSELF up.

The FACT is that Journey is the legacy of many people - not just Perry. The public being ignorant of that fact, and Perry taking advantage of that ignorance, does not make it any less true.

Monker gets the brass ring for this comment. Especially, "It says, as I have said for over ten years, that without Journey, Steve Perry is nothing." Sums it all up quite perfectly.

But alas, the blind will see only what they want to see.

As for Perry taking advantage of the public ignorance about him...It turns out he's not so "classy" after all. It also shows he can't make it on his own, and is likely lashing out now because Journey has successfully moved on.
