Hate that smelly Columbian bag of piss. He needs to learn how to fucking drive. He has pissed off everyone this year, especially Harvick and Johnson.

Oh man... I miss Adam so much. I'll never forget the first time I met him. It was like 1990 or so, I was a little girl, he was about 10... it was at Bristol for the Spring race. That year it was brutally cold, and I had lost my jacket somewhere. So Adam helped me look for it and when it couldn't be found he gave me one of his sweatshirts sitting back at the hauler, emblazoned with a big "Mello Yello" logo (gee I wonder why). I cherished that thing. He was one of the nicest people you'd ever know.

As for the next generation (I guess this is generation #4 we're speaking of)...

Justin (Labonte) is back around here now racing late models at the dirt tracks. Doubt he'll race Nascar.
Stephen (Wallace) races Rusty's busch car and just turned 20. It will be a few years before he's considerably Cup material.
Ricky (Hendrick) will always be missed as much as Adam, but his daughter is the cutest little thing, she just turned two.

While we're on the subject, feel free to donate to the Victory Junction Gang Camp in Adam's memory!! :)

http://www.victoryjunction.org[/quote]

Yeah.... the kiddos and I donate a couple times a year, along with a local charity that Terry Labonte supports via a hog ride (no, not me on a hog... thank god).

Adam was special. Other than Jr. I don't think any other driver had the benefit of having the best of the best at their beck and call to raise them up proper in the sport. A real shame the one who would have blown our socks off was taken and we're left with the one (I still hope against hope) who just isn't into it all the way. I have this vision of Sr. finally realizing that he should own/chief and needing one hot dog driver... viola' Adam it'll be. That would have been the be all to end all in the sport. Well, other than Davy A maybe teaming up with Sr. or Richard. Ah well, we've got what we've got and that's why I haven't settled into a new driver since Rust left. :::shrug:::

You really don't think Justin will jump up there? Even to ARCA? Wow... I thought he'd at least give things a spin. But then again, Terry did instill the "gotta love and enjoy what yer doin."
Busch races are so far and few between here that if I blink, I'll miss them. I'll have to check into things a bit more often. Twenty is young... but he seems to have the beginnings of the right attitude for the big boys. lol More so than his father, that is sure!

Maybe this gen 4 will be the ones to insist on the ptb going back in time, putting us back onto the tracks of days gone by (though I do love the Texas track-someday I'll get up there) AND get rid of this playoffs crap for the championship. We can wish, can't we?

Justin has run ARCA and Busch. Even won a Busch race at Chicago if I'm not mistaken. But for whatever reason, (sponsorship probably), they couldn't make it stick.
Get to Texas if you can. I know it's not old school, but it's a fantastic facility.

I can up ya on this...

-My Daddy was on various pit crews when I was a kid.
-Not to mention my families ties with the birth of the 'sport'.
-I've lived back and forth between my hometown (in VA) and Mooresville (the hub for everything) going on 15 years.
-I am friends with or at least know on a personal basis with most of the drivers. Cause there are plenty I hate, and they know it.
....Actually, I'm so close in that I can't honestly have a favorite driver. It wouldn't be fair, its like choosing your favorite cousin. You can have a favorite, but someone's going to get their feelings hurt.

Races I attend each year: (Busch, Cup, and sometimes Truck)

Both Daytona
Both Bristol
Both Charlotte
Both Martinsville
Both Richmond
Talladega
Dover
Pocono
Darlington

...I used to go to more, but they took the fucking races out of the good track because it wasn't "Pop Cultured" enough. (North Wilkesboro, Rockingham, Myrtle Beach [Busch], and here's a throw back... Lonesome Pine.)

I've got it BAD, but then again, its for the most part my life. I even used to work at DEI & Roush. Now in radio I deal with all our MRN & PRN stuff. God, I love racin.

I wish I had the opportunities you have. Last year I went to

Both California
Las Vegas
Both Texas
Both Phoenix
Both Richmond
Spring Michigan
Fall Charlotte

I also have season tickets for Martinsville

And I've been to a Busch Race at Myrtle Beach

I have NOT been to
Daytona or Talladega (too big and I don't like restrictor)
Pocono (I like the racing but I can't believe you can see worth a damn)
Dover (probably my next new track)
Watkins Glen (HAVE been to Sonoma several times)
New Hampshire (just plain sucks)
Kansas or Homestead (too new-I'll get there)

I LOVE Atlanta
I was actually at the first exhibition Truck race at Mesa Marin
I have been to DOZENS since (might be the best Nascar racing going)

WTF are the Nascar people thinking? Are they trying to kill the whole thing?

In the 10 Championship races, winning doesn’t get you extra points. WTF?!!!

It is so ass backwards. Consistency didn’t count for enough BEFORE the championships. And now when things should be more exciting, consistency is ALL that counts, and that’s ridiculous!!!!! Where's the fun in that?!!

The best races so far were when the guys were locked in, or close to locked in, and they just all went for it with everything they had.

The Championship should be a 10-race free-for-all!!!!

Who the hell is in charge of this train wreck?

Lol, this ranting isn't helping as much as I thought it would, so I think I'll just go find something to break..

Hey, 2 years ago, Tony Stewart didn't win a single race in the Chase, and won the trophy. At least JJ won 2 races last year.

That's just so nuts. Your record before the final 10 should factor in (more than it does, actually), but then it should be all about going for the wins.

I HATE points racing with a passion (in case it wasn't obvious, lol).

I agree with you....and JJ does race for points. I think he is smart enough to know that is the smart move. However, last year, he did have more wins than anyone prior to the chase and ended up winning more than anyone, so last year it worked out I guess.

Absolutely, lol. If they're going to make it a chess game rather than a car race, then that's how you have to play it - and Chad is a great “chess player,” lol.

But who the hell wants to watch a freakin’chess game, for crying out loud!! (that’s aimed squarely at Nascar, btw. Not you.)

I like the strategy side, but a little goes a long way for me. I want to see messy, aggressive, no-holds-bar racing.

I also want more mudslinging, grass killing, door smashed to door as they drive through the S-curves, Road Course racing - at least put one in the Chase!

But, instead, things seem to be getting more and more cookiecutter bland

Too bad I'm not passionate about anything...

You can go to Churchill Downs, Belmont, Arlington, Laurel Park, Santa Anita, Hollywood Park, Del Mar, Pimlico, Saratoga and Louisiana Fairgrounds to see that. I LOVE horse racing. That's a cool sport folks. Talk about strategy. Horses for the course, surfaces, turf to dirt angles, speed horses vs routers, raters, Beyers, speed ratings, jockey selection, race selection, etc. Takes a fairly knowledgeable person to play the ponies and read the Racing Form.

No, I am dead serious. I would go to a big Stakes race instead of a Nascar race. I LOVE horse racing. Granny and Norm and I are the only ones on this board who are into it to my knowledge. I was serious in that it takes some brains to follow it. Half here(the anal NFL fans  ) would look at the Form and say, "where is the beer ad?"

Horse racing is fun to watch (did you see Rags to Riches win the Belmont?! That was an exciting race), and the horses themselves are beautiful, and are awesome athletes.

BUT, they really have to do something about so many horses dying during races.
The polytrack surface is a great start (And I think Del Mar is one of the few tracks that is using it.).

It somehow kills the fun when you see a horse die in front of you, and find out that every season 10 to 30 horses die at each track.

Sorry to be a kill joy, lol, but seeing a horse trying to run on a leg that has snapped and is swinging from a strip of flesh, and then finding out that it is a common occurrence,..
well, it’s just a bit traumatizing.

Safety has sure become a beautiful thing. Now that the cars are so incredibly safe, the drivers can pretty much have it both ways - drive harder and stay safer!

Boy, did you see that crazy Kyle Bush wreck? And he just pops out and walks away! Lol

Maybe Nascar needs to get on that horse racing problem....

p.s. Thanks for letting me vent, lol. It actually did help.
I am now officially over it already, and I can’t wait for the chase to begin! Woohoo!!

For money I’d pick win/place for the whole thing to be 24/48. But I’m going with my heart and choosing 24/99!!!!
