People who do not pay taxes but are getting a $300 check are getting that from the taxes WE PAID and it's not a rebate, it's welfare and it pisses me off.
So much for that giving spirit. Not everyone is as fortunate as you, Barb. There are hard-working people making $6 an hour because your asshole hero of an incompetent dickwad of a lying sack of shit President hasn't bothered to raise the minimum wage.

Taking money from people who have earned it (by HARD WORK) and giving it to people who have not is not charity, it's socialism.
Thats good to know Barb, maybe that will help Mike out, Im self employed and dont pay quarterly, for me it works better to file jointly, and use her withholdings to pay my taxes. and we both claim ourselves and our daughter as exemptions , if that makes sense. I hope you dont work for the IRS fuck themBarb wrote:stevew2 wrote:Id get married, you might as well .Im sure you heard the same shit {almost } living with her,why not marry her, and get the tax write off. You actually get more money as head of household. I filed as HOH for my daughter and I and then we got married and ended up owing money when we combined our incomes. But... if she doesn't work, it would probably come out the same anyway.

There are so many deductions being self employed. I could write off typing to you right now, altough I wouldnt even think of it reallyShadowsong wrote:Rhiannon wrote:You do realize that someone who makes $3000, even if they paid taxes would get every cent back at the end of the year anyway.
Not if they were self employed...
SE get screwed.
I'd like to get a few crumbs from the miser Uncle Sam.

Again..they don't work, but keep me up so I am dead ass tired at work the next day.
Yet they can afford all the beer and cigaretes they can consume un !@#$%^ real.
Anyone notice this. People who don't work and/or are on welfare..can still afford cigs and beer.
I am seriously not dogging welfare. When I was young and couldn't work for 9 months. I got state help..but I didn't make a life out of it and used the money to live on barely..but I didn't stay up all night doing whatever the hell I wanted because I didn't have to work.
Let's just keep teaching the young woman in this country to stay unmarried..but keep having babies. You all will be provided for..get free rent..go to school for free..and not have to work..

Well the problem is there are huge masses of people who do use welfare and government assist as a way of life. I mentioned in the O.J. thread that I lived in the hood at one time. It was quite interesting how twice a month, everyone would be out in their yards getting drunk and stumming guitars until 3 in the morning. For the longest time I couldn't understand why twice a month the neighborhood would come to life like that. It was also quite ironic how my mail would be removed from my post box on those days. Then one day I found out that on those days is when the government assist and welfare checks come rolling in and on those days is when postal workers have the highest chance of getting rock and rolled during their mail routes. They use the food stamps or what I like to refer to as the "funny money" in ways you could only imagine. That's how they can afford cigs and alcohol, even though they are not supposed to use it for those types of items. One guy will trade the other guy his funny money for some real money that's all that is. From what I learned, families get x amount of funny money and x amount of real money biweekly.

Not me that's for sure. I'm already getting a nice tax refund, so this is icing on the cake!
I'm bitchin' because I won't be getting the rebate. Although I did my taxes last night and I'm getting a nice refund so I shouldn't complain too much.

There are a lot of assholes making six figures who sit on their asses all day and play golf all afternoon. I've busted my ass for everything I have ever had in my life. Not everyone can go to college or grad school...not everyone can make $60 an hour teaching piano or running an IT division...

There are also thousands and thousands of people in this country right now who have worked very hard their whole lives and thought they were doing pretty good until their jobs were pulled out from under them. Now the ONLY JOBS AVAILABLE to them are mimimum or very low wage jobs in small to medium businesses with little or no health care benefits.
Do you people realize that $10/hr is only $20,000 a year? How many of you could live on that with a couple of kids, especially without health care benefits?
Calling those people lazy just because they were fucked over by the government that paid the corporations to move out of the country is just what I'd expect from some people though.
I just heard on the news that the people who are getting $300 rebates but didn't pay taxes are those who made less than $3000 per year.
Barb wrote:Ya, so that means teenagers who work after school are getting a "rebate" too. People who do not pay federal income tax should not be getting a free check courtesy of those of us who do pay. In what other circumstance would you accept this? Imagine if you went to buy a new TV and you paid fulll price for it, then found out another person only had to pay half price just because they don't earn as much or choose not to work. Is that right? It's so easy to give away other people's money, but I'm betting you wouldn't be so generous if you saw the impact to you personally.

My Father worked all his life until he had his hip replaced when I was 19 and
was then stricken with cancer and leukemia and not able to work for the remainder of his life.
He missed out on his benefits and pension because he was just shy of ten years in at general Motors.
He lived on welfare for over 7 yrs and that paid him 750 bucks a month, not even enough to make rent here.
A couple years before he died he won his settlement and had to pay every penny back to Social Services
even though he had paid into all his working life.
I believe someone mentioned they are sour about some being on assistance
and staying up all night serving there own wishes.
Well your right, my Father did stay up all night but he didn't spend it doing whatever
he wanted, he spent it puking from the pills and chemotherapy that he had to pay
out of pocket for.
Thank god for our family that helped him get those meds that allowed him a longer life with us.
Not all fit into your little files of how fares should fly.
