From Steve Smith's drum solo to Perry's unhuman crystaline falsetto, the fidelity is amazing. I don't know how much post production processing was done on the mix, but Perry did say it went through ProTools, etc...Just wondering what kind of additional compression and juice was used because Perry's voice has NEVER sounded like this. I don't even want to make any comparisons to the show we saw Friday at HOB, but I don't think I would get any argument that no one will ever see a show like the one captured on DVD ever, ever again. Not from Perry, not from the current Journey lineup...It was absolute magic, like lightening in a bottle.

I didn't get it either. But that's because I am strapped for cash. I am more interested in a ROR dvd.

So Perry sounded great..big fucking deal. I have REAL boots where he sounds good, no, great, and I would rather have that than some mixed to the rafters concert.
Sorry, this Journey fan isn't biting. How many times do you need to hear DSB by Perry?

Yikes! That's pretty harsh, however, not enitirely uncalled for.
Augeri sounded amazing night after night on this tour - the guy's in his mid-40's and still sounding almost like a young Perry-let's give the man his dues.
If u wanna make a valid juxtaposition, compare the Perry of today to the Augeri of today. Not the vocally peerless Perry of old. That guy died a long time ago.

That's quite an endorsement.
Best concert EVER?
No joke?

Well now, aren't we just getting a little silly here?

no need to fight here, look if you are a journey fan, you have to get this dvd, it is incredible, yes i have the bootlegs, but the quality of this thing for it's age is unreal, perry did not doctor it up but remaster it, this is truly a great release for this band, and i will still buy the dvd from the current tour whenever they put it out, but the great thing about this dvd is you get the cd with it, i just got back from a long drive and listened to the whole cd, i can't say enough good things about it and yes please release a live dvd from raised on radio and the captured 80 japan show would be the ultimate, again you really can't criticize this release unless you hate perry, this is a job well done, and if were only going to get past releases like this from him so be it,

I am sure they do as much as they can.
