Still she cries is my personal favourite, amazing piano solo and just generally a great song

and ther choices:

Sorry but going to have to go with the classic DSB also for the best opening piano riff in any song ever

Ditto for Faithfully and Open Arms

This one is easy:

Still She Cries.

I wanted Steve to be quiet so I could hear Jon! That is a keyboard masterpiece. I'd love to hear it played without lyrics. I'd make an exception to my "no more money on Journey" vow if I could get a copy of that!

"Still She Cries" is Friga's finest moment.

"Livin' To Do," "Walks Like A Lady," "Of A Lifetime," "Winds of March," and pretty much ANYTHING with an organ, or a kick-ass organ solo.

I've gotta go with "Mother Father". I absolutely LOVE the piano on that song! I don't think it goes over very well in clubs, but when I played it with Frontiers, I'd get goosebumps! There's a lot of emotion and power in that song. It's not the most popular, but it's probably in my top 5 of best songs ever written. JMHO.

How about Walks Like a Lady on Captured?

MF is their best piano song, IMO.

"Still She Cries", "Faithfully", "When You Love A Woman", and that ridiculously understated piano introduction to "Mother, Father". As much as I love Neal's playing, the guitar should have been turned off for the first few seconds.

Edit: "Winds of March" does have a kick ass organ solo from Mr. Greg Rolie. That and "Dixie Highway", I believe.

Despite what people say about JC, the dude is very talented. Sp also. I wish SP would have done more instrument playing. I'd love to see him play the drums. He started out as a drummer.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

STC is an awesome slow song. When I saw the topic that's the first song I thought of. Not just for the keys though.

Smitty's drumming is perfect as it interplay's with Perry's voice and the guitar work.

Wonder if the violins were really necessary. Guitar would've been fine for me.

Journey in Liberace mode.

I didnt know you were the keyboardists for Frontiers You are excellant!! I am a keyboard player also. You got Cains chops done. You nail Mother Father ,as well as the intro fo Open Arms and everything else. If you ever need a fill in letme know. I understand what Friga does.

Thanks man,

I USED to play with Frontiers. I am definitely influenced by Cain in my own songs too! If you've heard any clips on youtube from Frontiers in the last 9 or 10 months, it wasn't me. Jeremey pulled all of the old clips off (all of the ones with me playing). Everything that you've heard since then, are Chad Campbell. He's an awesome keyboardist, and a good friend! He's a great guy all around. He's Frontiers original keyboardist. They hired me for about 10 months to cover all of their southern shows. It was a great experience, but I quit so I could get back to writing my own music!

If you haven't checked out my myspace, go check it out! There's a link under my signature. I'm excited, because I've been working for several hours today on a brand new song! Think along the lines of "Pamela" from Toto.

I'm writing this song for my wife Melinda, and it's turning out pretty damn cool! If anyone's heard my song "If you want", it's like that, just with a harder edge. It'll be on Myspace in a couple of days if I get it finished! Take care.

Still She Cries hands done. shoulda been an instrumental. La Raza Del Sol also.

Jon has many fine moments on his solo instrumental albums. He is a talented musician and songwriter, without a doubt.

I do think he's probably a SERIOUS asshole in the real world though. Nobody can deny that he's extreemly talenented! Not even you Deano!

I have 4 or 5 of his solo cd's. He's got some great stuff, but like you said...there's a time for that kind of music! " Piano with a view" works well in the whole "I've got some wine, my lady, and it's booty getting time kind of way"!!!
