I dont know how to describe it but he kinda slurps the word out, ive never noticed it before. Im sure im not gonig crazy, he defintiyl doesnt pronounce the word properly and should of done another take of that verse.
So, opinions on this and do you know of any other mistakes and cock ups in Journey songs?

I got one that I'm almost sure is a mistake, but I have to check the published lyrics on the album cover and check out Houston and other boots later to hear how it goes on stage before I say anything because the song is DSB so even if I'm right I know there's gonna be arguing about it. (I think someone mis-sang something.... oooooh boy am I looking for trouble or what?!?!)

You are right,if you're talking about the Tom Snyder show clip, where someone messed up the DSB lyrics. It's on YouTube.

Ha...that's a classic clip, but no - I'm talking about the actual recording.![]()
Reasearch will be done upon my arrival home in a bit.

Interesting point, now that you mention it. In the song Suzanne, towards the end of the song at the point of "2:38" Perry sings the Suzanne bit, when he finishes her name, it appears he swallows or something, but i've thought that it was mistake perhaps? take a listen![]()
Please, let me know what you think.

I played it over and over on the way home until my ears bled before posting this, and that IS what is on the album, so no arguments. And it doesn't seem right, does it?
The lyrics on the original vinyl say "She took the mindnight train..."
(yeah I know, lyrics can be misprinted... but...)
Every live recording I have of this song says "She took...."
And the first line of the song indicates that we're talking about a girl, therefore logically it SHOULD be "She took..."
But a whole bunch of people weren't paying attention on recording day, or something, and "He took" made it on the album.
This one proves my case... Houston '81... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ip1zsUIosoA
(I don't really care about proving it - just any excuse to haul out videos from this show...)

Alright, here it is... I noticed this a few months back while playing Escape in the car one day - something didn't sound right... "but dare I suggest somethig isn't right? It's the original recording... doesn't that govern?" Well, since I'm the judge, I say no... LOL!
