FamilyMan wrote:Ok, fellow Journey fans. Time to introduce myself. I've been more than a frequent "lurker" here for the past few years, and thought about joining the forum many times. Yes, I'm an avid Journey fan like the rest of you. But I confess that my loon-dom took a dramatic turn two years ago when, as a producer for CBS News, I pitched the show CBS Sunday Morning a story on the "new" lineup with Arnel Pineda. To my delight (and astonishment), I suddenly found myself on a plane to the city by the bay, and driving up the 101 to the famous Journey warehouse for the chance to meet my childhood rock and roll idols. Many of you saw the piece and although it was terrifying, it was also fun to read your reactions posted here. I even take some personal pride that the phrase that stuck, Jon Cain's "Arnel makes me a better person" was born in the piece I produced.
Speaking of Jon Cain, he seemed to genuinely appreciate the coverage (as did the whole band) and felt as though we "set the tone" for Revelation's successful run. Backstage at one of the '08 shows, Jon was very gracious to me and my guests, saying we were now "part of the Journey family" (hence my username).
Anyway, I'm sure I'll be trading licks with all of you over the past, present and future of the band in the coming months, but thanks go out to Andrew - and to all of you - for allowing me into such a special community. For those of you who missed the CBS story, the link is below...

It was in the interview. Neal said he would love to hear Perry do some new music again. See, Neal is a sweetheart.

He was saying it i in reference to Perry saying they cracked the stone, because to Neal Perry cracked it first.

It was a bit of a mood shift from the GQ quotes, only a month prior.

Why? Neal gave an honest, albeit heated, response in the moment thinking back to the crappy comments made by Steve in VH1 and said it. But he doesn't hold a grudge, so made the nice comment re Steve in the CBS piece.![]()

The biggest sweetheart in this band is Deen. He said being in Journey is "God reaching down from heaven, tapping you on the shoulder, and saying 'young man, you're blessed.'" He said it off-camera, not in front of the guys. He truly loves what he does. Loves Augeri too.
