There isn't an AI winner or Runner-up (or even a non-runner up, but AI 'grad') that has had the success that Underwood has had. Not only that, but I personally feel that she is far more talented than anyone that has been on that show.

She was on the David Foster and Friends program, singing with Andrea Bocelli. Katherine fell short on the high note twice while singing the Prayer. She was trying to stay with Bocelli and embarrassed herself a bit. She must have pulled it off in rehearsals because I can't imagine why Foster paired her with Andrea. Totally out of her league.

It almost seems like country music fans are more open to artists like this than the rock and pop world are. And I mean look at even the classic rock bands and artists who have now turned to the country genre for continued success.

True she is probably the most successful and you're right, that's country for ya. But I'd say Adam Lambert was by far the most entertaining. I never did watch that show religiously like some, but I'll be damned if I didn't catch myself watching every single week last season just to see what song he'd do next. Wonder how his new album will do?

Couldn't agree more. She's a beautiful young woman, but truthfully, I find her mannerisms and singing somewhat annoying (could be because I'm not big on country music). Most talented ever? - meh, I don't know. She's certainly been the most highly promoted. Just not a fan, and I'm betting if she wasn't country she wouldn't have quite this level of success.

I heard some today and I thought this is going to be too 90's for me & I liked 8-9 songs. So, I will purchase. I think he should also take up Queen's offer to tour next season and request in the contract that his album be sold. He will sing on the AMA awards and be on Ohrah again plus others. I sense his career is just beginning. He wants to act. He will sing The star spangled banner at Speilbergs award ceremony 12/9 ? and that place will be crawling with movie producers.

A few things. This sorta comparison doesn't fly with me...it's sorta like the who's better, VH with Roth or VH with Hagar...and basing it on album sales.
Clarkson has had 6.5 years to sell 10.379 million records.
Underwood has had 4 years to sell 10.165 million records.
Clearly, Underwood is the highest selling artist when taking time in release as a factor....which would be appropriate. The next trailing artist is Daughtry and he's a good 5 mil back from underwood....
Also, another factor. Tour revenue. I'm just guessing here, but I suspect, when factored out for year-smoothing, that Underwood takes in more tour revenue per year as well.....
