i think default and all the others might be labled post grunge or something similar.

Creed is a sign of every thing wrong with "modern" hard rock. Hootie for pop - Nickelback for rock - Creed for hard rock.

Utter utter SHITE!!!!!!!

Hometown boys done good! My cousin said Chad is a great guy to just chill and have a beer with.

Even if you love the latter two bands, I don't see how you can possibly lump Matchbox 20 in with them. The 90s, as far as rock music went, really had two disparate genres:

"Grunge" which we all know

and

"90s pop/alternative etc" (call it what you will): This features bands like

Gin blossoms
Vertical Horizon
Hootie
Matchbox 20

etc... Some great music came out of that genre to be sure. Some of my favorite stuff to listen to.

I check out the Amazon daily deal all the time, they have some steals on there sometimes. I downloaded the new Gin Blossoms album on there a few weeks ago for $3.99, it is a really good album too.

I love the Gin Blossoms. 3.99. Wow, I will have to check that out.

I doubt it is still going for 3.99, as it was during it's daily deal on Amazon, that is the main reason I check the deal of the day every day! Still worth picking up the album though, the song "Miss Dissaray" is an addictive little song.

I'm digging "Don't Change for Me," "I Dont' Wanna Lose You Now," "Somewhere Tonight," and "Go Cry Baby" the most. Disarray is the first single, and it's decent but not my fave.

I heard Dont Change and Disarray live back in July. Dont Change rocked live.

I was really disappointed Jesse Valenzuela didn't contribute a vocal on this album - I really loved California Sun from MLV. Nice laid back West coast pop feel.

early MB20, maybe. That said, surprising as it may sound, Rob Thomas has actually turned into a decent singer somewhere around the 3rd matchbox Twenty album. He'll never have the greatest range, but he is a VERY distinctive vocalist and one heck of a good songwriter.

Weirdly enough, based on the last album, I think he's turning into a current day version of Phil Collins. That's not a bad thing at all in my book.

He'll never be anything like Phil. Phil pissed out songs, and whether you're a pre-'80s Genesis die-hard or not, one cannot downplay Phil's golden pipes or knack for melody. Then there's his drumming throughout the years (again, the '70s was his best time, when Genesis was a prog band).

Whiney Robbie Thomas can't touch Phil.

no, he can't touch Phil's voice or drumming ability, but current day Rob Thomas isn't far off from Phil musically minus the patented Collins' horn section.

Hard on You, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvdpRVFywvM, could have easily come off of Testify.

I can see how you might think that for some of those bands... but:

Robin Wilson from the Gin Blossoms is a very strong singer. Much better than many shit 80s bands people listen to on here

I hated the first MB20, but have huge respect for Rob now. The guy just can't write bad tunes...very gifted and a great live band.

Matchbox Twenty is decent musically but I've never been able to stomach his voice. Really irritating.

As a producer , I love defaults " wasting my time" if you listen with headphones you can
hear the slight reverb inflections used on the end of verse phrases. Overall a well produced
track, and well written song!

Boy, I remember that Default song now. What an awful song. The guitar player can hardly play and it's just so boring.

Grunge gets a bad rap cuz of shit bands like this. The real grunge bands like Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden were good. Not my favorite genre of music by any means, but I enjoy those bands. Nirvana and those guys suck cock.

God, no more grunge, please...
(and I LIVE in Seattle...)

More grunge means that Courtney Love gets more screen time. Seriously, haven't we learned by now?
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

On that note, every song I've heard of Dickelsack's does sound like it was written for a beer commercial!!
