FTHP1946 wrote:Let me bring some clarity: Jeff has made plain his desire to be involved with Queen for some time, and he was aproached as long ago as November as to his availability and we began to make contingencies, but were in the midst of planning his own tour to support 'Damage Control' and that seemed to rule out any QE involvement. Yet Roger Taylor called Jeff to see if he could bring his 'rock' side into the process.
Neither he, nor Yvan were involved in the audition process, but they were hand picked by Roger and it has to be said that the nine musicians all blend beautifully.

Jeff is definitely the mentor in all this.

Thanks to all my friends last night for a great time!

For me the stand outs are: Lap of the Gods, under pressure, stone cold crazy and March of the black queen

Triple S wrote:. . . OK, maybe not THE best (video's not close enough) but I'm amazed at how good the sound is with my phone, and Marc nailed this. Had I known I would have tried to record more than a few (except I was having too much fun). Great show, I'd see it again in a heartbeat.

Martel is going to be the focus. No way around that.
Jeff does have a major portion of the show however.
I've seen a few clips now and it is way better than what was on American Karaoke.
American Karaoke contestants sounded much better than the whole Queen fiasco. They looked RIDICULOUS up there, and JSS's fist pumping was weird as hell and WAY out of place. I was ashamed to be a queen fan while watching that garbage. Queen need to just hit the road themselves with Martel IMHO.

anyone else and the fan outcry would be obvious...

I would take anyone involved in the Queen Extravaganza singing with Queen over Adam Lambert.
I liked Paul Rodgers with Queen. It was obvious they were not at all going for a soundalike. With Lambert, it seems a bit like they're going for a soundalike, but it falls way short. He just doesn't work for me, with Queen or solo. I would love to see Queen live, but I never will as long as Lambert is on vocals.

Lambert has the uncontrolled vibrato of a goat..
