Here is the issue...both W and Trump lost the popular vote but won their election. Combine that with McConnell ignoring the nomination of Merrick Garland. You end up with six justices nominated by Republicans, and a far right conservative majority that does not represent the people.
Voting matters....Democrats and Liberals should now know that.

Indeed. Very dangerous and IMHO sets the USA back further still....on the same path the Orange Sphincter was sending the country.
Impossible to eliminate. We are currently on a very destructive path that I am not optimistic about
It changing for the better. We have a huge Gun violence problem that we are not willing to address head on.
Some of our most beautiful cities are being turned into crime wastelands and on and on.

I've seen a few still defending him without question. I can understand someone being a Republican (don't get that way of thinking, especially now the party is hard right), but I have come to the conclusion that if you are a ardent Trump supporter you are either blindingly stupid or a complete asshole. maybe both.

Because it seems a lot of Journey fans are RWNJs and I banned a bunch for being totally objectionable. I have no respect for hard right wingers. It ain't 1950 anymore. No big loss as they only ever banged on about one side of the equation.

Monker wrote:No. Neither W nor Trump were elected by a majority vote. Therefore the judges they appointed were not represented by the majority of the people. Then add in Merrick Garland and McConnell refusing to hold hearings or vote his confirmation. The Supreme Court no longer has a membership that represents the will of the people. A minority in this country has manipulated their political views into the court. It is a court of politics, not law.

I think your view of conservatives is very distorted based on my experience. What I miss is having an open conversation without name calling, etc.

2nd A is 200 years old and 100 years out of date.
As are most conservative talking points. The world moves on folks...get over it!

Nah, he's just a crook. A liar, a blatant racist, a compulsive liar and an enabler of other nut jobs like DeSantis, Lake, Walker, MTG etc...
Republicans need to stop raising up unqualified nut jobs just to piss off "the left".

Because when you say things like "Brandon's thread", all you are doing is trolling for a reply to an insult, and you are not even attempting to "discuss" anything. It is the same thing with your "killing babies" post. People gave up on this thread, and the Trump thread, a very long time ago for any type of real "discussion", free of trolling and insults.

I have bad news for you, Lake, MTG, DeSantis etc. are gaining traction. I'm not sure why you have to use nut jobs to describe them. What do you see as their values that you disagree with?Andrew wrote:Aaron wrote:Trump is a disrupter which is why he is so hated.

The Orange Sphincter handed a bunch of endorsed losses. Fuck off forever you despicable shitbarrel.

I wanted to more than anything for a number of years....been to the states 15 times.
Now you couldn't pay me to live there. Divisions are too obvious thanks to Trump's divisive rhetoric and conservatives trying to turn the country back to 1950.

Prove it. Show me ANY evidence that the founders installed the electoral college because they wanted the ability for the supreme court to be out of touch with the majority of the country. Show me ANY evidence that the founders wanted to give the ability to stall a supreme court nominee to oblivion so the next President could nominate someone else.
You are flat out wrong.

Prove it. Quote some founders. Quote the federalist papers.
You have NO CLUE what you are talking about. The founders were obsessed with the militia, and they did NOT want a standing army, which we have today. The amendment was put in place to try to ensure the states were defended by a militia...not to give individuals rights, and not to give the ability for the population to rise up and revolt. Those are myths that you have bought into.
