Honestly, after seeing him last week, I was surprised Orton wasn't the instant starter even with just one or two days of practice. The guy is terrrrrrrible.

No. Ben threw the only block on that play. A "chop block" like was called on Thursday is one guy going high with the block and one guy going low on the block. What Ben did was NOT a chop block.
YoungJRNY: Every time the Steelers are supposed to crush a team, they get in their own way. They should take care of business quite easily, but Arrowhead will be jacked up as always and make it tough for the Steelers in Prime Time, just like Indianapolis did. The Steelers always get everyone's best effort.
Stu: Steelers historically play DOWN to the level of their competition...just in case anyone forgets (Travis!) the Superbowl hangover year...we were supposed to DESTROY KC then too...I am not feeling the love for this game at all..
YoungJRNY: But yet, my fellow Steelers brotherin' is right. Always playing down to our competition. Back in 2009, we kind of did what the 2011 Ravens are doing. We beat the best teams in the league but lost to the worst. Last time we faced K.C was in '09, we were even up 17-7 at halftime and ended up losing in OT.
Even when the Steelers are supposed to crush a team, they keep it interesting, it's just the way they've always played teams historically with clock controlled offense but hopefully with this new offense still rising, we can keep our foot on the gas peddle. Still think K.C will give it a tough game. The X-Factor is Arrowhead+ Prime Time. Crazy stadium.

I loved your texts last night updating me on each teams missed penalties. If you were a ref, a game would be 6 hours long and the penalty yards would be 200+ yards for either team.

I will say this, however....PI needs to switch from a spot foul to a 15 yards MAX penalty. Also, do away with calling PI because the defender doesn't turn his head around - all that should matter is impedement. Contact before the ball gets there. Case closed...A receiver isn't entitled to a clear path to an underthrown ball. End of discussion.

Holy fucking shit, man! I actually agree with you. Couldn't agree more, actually. The pass interference thing has really gotten out of hand in the NFL. I watch a lot of NFL that doesn't involve any team that I have any allegiance to and that call drives me crazy. The blatant calls never bother me, but more often than not with PI, it is very borderline.

So do you agree with both principles or just the substantive parts of what actually constitutes pass interference? I don't fully understand all the nuances with PI, but I definitely agree that PI should not be a spot foul in today's league of pass-chucking QBs. It's bogus.

I've definitely always hated Pittsburgh and their douchebag fans. No offense to Travis, because I honestly think the kid is a good guy. It's just always amused me that fans from what is a shit sports city (no NBA team, no MLB team...and no, the Pirates don't qualify as MLB) are so full of themselves in a minor league sports city (Pittsburgh is no Philadelphia). I respect the Steelers organization (and what I'm really saying here is the Rooney family) and I like Mike Tomlin. That said, I've always hated most of their players. They've always had a team of big mouth guys who care more about yapping than playing football. I still remember Steeler fans and players making reservations for the Super Bowl before they ever played the Patriots in the 2001 playoffs. I couldn't believe a team and their fans were that full of themselves that they didn't think the team they were playing had ANY shot at all to beat them. It was simply never a possibility to them.

Hate on Pittsburgh all you want but it's pretty funny that just because you have a way of words to cover up your obvious hatred towards everything Pittsburgh doesn't mean you're always right in your decorated assessments. You're absolutely wrong about of what you've said because you come off as a total hater. No offense to you John, because I honestly think you are a good guy but you got it twisted. All Boston fans are TRULY the one's considered scumbag, arrogant douche-bag fans. At the start of 2001, the Patriots had never won a Super Bowl, the Celtics were going on fifteen years since their last title, the Red Sox were hopelessly trying to break the curse of the Bambino and the Bruins were looking for their first Stanley Cup in nearly thirty years. Hell, the city of Boston and their fans were as tortured as the city of Cleveland at one point. All those years of frustration and heartbreak that you saw growing up boggled up all this hate for great sports cities like Pittsburgh, who you had to watch win World Series, Super Bowl Championships and hoisting Stanley Cup's and that hasn't changed in the new decade! And get over 2001. Even you admitted all Patriots fans couldn't beat Oakland (wonder why?) let alone Pittsburgh. Beating the Rams was admitted as a pipe dream and you know it!
Pittsburgh Pirates (5 World Series): Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell, Bill Mazeroski , Honus Wagner, Barry Bonds & manager Jimmy Leyland.
Pittsburgh Penguins (3 time Stanley Cup Champions): Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr, Ronny Francis, Paul Coffey, Tom Barasso and now Sidney Crosby.
Pittsburgh Steelers (6 time Super Bowl Champions): Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, Jack Ham, Mel Blount, Rod Woodson, Jerome Bettis, Greg Lloyd, Franco Harris, head coach Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher
Not bad for a shitty and minor league sports cityKeep on hatin' on!

Again, why do fans cling to PAST accomplishments when defending their teams? The Penguins tanked numerous seasons to get their 1st and 2nd picks. The Bruins don't tank seasons to get players.
You say Pirates have 5 WS Rings....Boston has 7.
You say Pitt has 3 Stanley Cups - Bruins have 6.
Celtics have 17 NBA Championships...Pittt has ZERO
Steelers have 6 Superbowl rings....NE has 3.
The Penguins tanked numerous seasons to get their 1st and 2nd picks.
YoungJRNY wrote:The Penguins tanked numerous seasons to get their 1st and 2nd picks.
And the gimmick poster that is S2M continues with great pride. You do realize that the Penguins won a lottery to snag Crosby? Each team that supposedly "tanked" the season had the equal amount of opportunity and chance for the #1 draft pick. Maybe, just maybe, the Penguins just lost games to set them up for a chance at high draft picks because they were a bad hockey team in the middle of the 2000's. With your logic, the Bengals, picking #1 and very high all those years in the NFL, should have atleast 10 Lombardi's by now with all those great 1st and 2nd picks.
